Mike POV
She blinked and looked down at our walking feet.
"You did all that because I remind you of a girl you liked?" Y/N asked and looked back up at me. My brows raised and I nodded in agreement.
"Mike, that makes like no sense? What happened to her anyway?" Y/N asked and stopped in her tracks, she faced me and I looked down at her.
My heart stopped just thinking about Eleven.
"I said those things because, I guess I was in denial... Y/N, the day I met you gave me the vibe I got from the girl I use to like. And then I put myself in denial when I started liking you, so I pushed you away. I distanced myself from you." I explained and clenched my jaw.
Y/N exhaled a cold breath of air.
"You like me?" She mumbled, I apologised and continued to walk. "Yeah I do. I'm sorry, I-I." I stopped rambling.
I felt as she pulled me back. She turned me around to face her, her smile crept along her face.
"No need to apologise. You don't have to push yourself away. Why would you distance yourself anyway?" Y/N asked.
We both began walking again, I shrugged my shoulders and she looked away from me.
I distanced myself because I didn't want to fall for girl who I could possibly lose. I wasn't the best with girls either, they never liked me back. El was the only girl who liked me.
I missed el so much. Why did she have to leave me? It's been a year since she left.
I felt a nudge on my arm and turned to face Y/N. She smiled and I smiled back, wow her smile made me weak.
"You okay?" She whispered, I completely agreed and examined as she took off my sweater.
"Here, take it back. You look cold." She explained, I nodded a no and rejected her.
"Mike, please. You need it. We have another 10 minutes til we reach my house." She tried explaining, I rejected her still and wanted to make sure she was warm.
Y/N placed it back on.
"Fine, Since I'm wearing your sweater, let's make a deal. " She mumbled, I grinned and felt as she wrapped her arms around me, we still continued to walk. I chuckled with her arms around me, her warmth felt good.
"I'm holding onto you until we reach my house, and then you're coming inside for hot chocolate, deal?" Y/N mumbled from beside me. I agreed and changed positions, my arms suddenly wrapped around her.
"Nah-ah. Mike that isn't the deal. Let me cuddle you." Y/N replied, I allowed her to wrap her arms around me again. My heart skipped so many beats, my eyes glanced at hers, a smile spreading across both our faces as we glanced at one another.
Y/N POV
When we reached home I quickly boiled some water, Mike decided to use my home phone to call his mom and ask her to pick him up in half an hour.
I prepared the hot chocolate and watched as Mike finally walked over. I slid his hot coco across the island counter. We were both standing there.
Mikes eyes couldn't disconnect from mine.
He took a sip. We both stayed silent just standing there.
"I know why I distanced myself, I did it because, because I didn't want to fall for a girl who wouldn't fall for me. And the girl I use to like, I-I lost her.. I wouldn't want to lose you." Mike explained, he seemed genuinely sad and I could feel his pain.
I walked over to him. I showed off my smile.
"Who said I wouldn't fall for you? Who said you'd lose me? No one. If you don't want to lose me then don't push me away." I explained, Mike nodded and looked down, I looked down aswell and watched as his hands connected with mine.
"I haven't felt this happy in a long time. You made me really happy tonight." Mike whispered, instant butterflies.

Karen Wheeler was here to pick him up. I walked Mike my front door.
"I guess I'll see you at school- Can I walk you to school tomorrow? " Mike asked interrupting me.
I blushed and agreed, then I remembered his sweater, I was planning on taking it off but Mike nodded a no.
"You keep it." Mike replied and smiled. I blushed even harder.
"Goodnight Y/N." He mumbled,
"Night Mike." I replied and closed my door shut.
