We heard a knock on the door when we hit the last step.
My hand slipped out of Draco's tight grip. I lunged forward to open the big doors that lead to the entrance of the manor. At the door was a tall and slender woman in her mid-50' that exuded confidence and elegance. Her raven black hair was laced with platinum blond stripes. She was wearing an expensive-looking black coat, emerald green velvet ankle boots, a pair of classy black pants with a Slytherin green blouse tucked into them and silver jewelry. Narcissa Malfoy, now Black, since her dear husband was put in Azkaban after the war and died afterwards in the hell hole that is the wizarding prison. Narcissa re-took her maiden name. After the win of the light side, to build up her family honor, Narcissa donated to a lot of charities and foundations. She lived a quiet life in a luxurious cottage near Hogsmeade, after giving the manor to Draco. To put it simply, Narcissa Black was standing at the door..
"Hello Mother" said Draco, resulting in me getting out of my transe and coming back to reality to greet Draco's mother
"Hello Draco, Hermione" Narcissa said while nodding in greeting
" Hi Narcissa"
Working with Draco, I already had a chance to meet draco's mother, Surprisingly, she did not share her husband's views on blood purity. I was intimidated by her at first, but found out that she was extremely easy to talk to when the cold pureblood mask was out of the way, it was just a façade. With my growing friendship with Draco, I spent some time with Narcissa or Cissa as she liked to be called.
After letting Narcissa in the manor, we moved to the living room of the mansion to talk. We prepared some Jasmin tea and once we were settled and seated, we got on with the talking.
"So Draco asked me to come, apparently it was an emergency to Draco" She said while looking pointedly at Draco who sat further in the couch
"but I don't see what is the problem , you two look well enough in my opinion"She said sharply
"I would like to know what am I doing here"
"Draco, you didn't tell her." I said while slapping him lightly on the arm
"I guess I forgot or I just didn't want to tell her since it wasn't exactly my place to talk about it" Draco responded
"Children, that doesn't answer my question about what is wrong with you two" said Nacrissa while slightly scolding us
"First of all, mother, don't call us children. Second of all, nothing is wrong with me, I am perfectly fine, it's about hermit-
"Dear, are you pregnant with Mr.Weasley's baby" Narcissa said
"Oh dear gods no, I am certainly not pregnant with the child of this idiot" I said
"I thought you were with him, like a couple"
"Well yeah"
"Why did something happen that I don't know about" Narcissa asked
"More or less, I would think that the daily prophet covered the story by now, I've been hiding in the manor for several weeks by now" I responded
"Well what happened, can I ask what happened or is it out of boundaries, I don't want to make you uncomfortable, dear" Narcissa asked gently
"Mia, I think it's best for my mother to know the circumstances." Draco said while butting into the conversation
"You're right, Draco" I said while taking a deep breath, to prepare myself to talk about that fateful night
"It all started three weeks ago, Ron became more attentive with me, he cooked meals, helped around the house, he also showed a little more affection. I was, by this time, realizing that I loved him more as a brother than a lover." I said
"Ok, I don't see what is wrong yet, so I guess there is more to the story, isn't it" She asked
"Yes, exactly, One day, he asked me to clean up nicely because he had a surprise for me tonight, after work. I was , of course, excited. I went to work, came home, got dressed up and we apparated to my favorite restaurant, where all the Weasley's and harry were there" I said
.Oh, how sweet of him." Narcissa said
"Mother, just wait for the rest of the story" Draco said
"Everything was going well at first, we ate and we talked. It was fun catching up and the food was great. The evening was nice, that is, until after desert when he got down on one knee."
"Oh dear merlin. Narcissa said
"Wait for it , Mother, you're going to have another reason to say that" Draco said
"He got down on one knee and I froze. He did the classic speech and he asked me for my hand in marriage. I didn't know what to say."
"Is this when everything goes wrong" Cissa asked
"Exactly, I said no. He was shocked and mad, I mean who wouldn't be but he went literally insane when I refused." I said, reminding myself of the events
"What in Salazar's name, did he do to you?" She asked
"He put me under the cruciatus curse, he called me a mud-blood, an ungrateful bitch, ugly, stupid and it went on, until Draco took me here, healed me." I said
"The nerve that the boy has to do this to you, I really never liked him, are you okay sweetie?." Narcissa asked
"I am now" I say while Draco plants a gentle kiss on my forehead
"But still what am I doing here" She asks
"Let me finish on what I was saying before you thought Hermione was pregnant with Weasley's child. Do you remember a dark curse with the name, Slive Mors Dilectio?" Draco said
"Oh dear Merlin, no" Cissa said
"Oh dear merlin, yes, mother" Draco said
"So, Mr.Weasley proposed to you during a nice night at the restaurant, you said no and you had a valuable reason, he cursed you and insulted you and he is now on the run to escape Azkaban and he casted the death or love curse on you, in the heat of the moment, during his uncontrollable anger." resumed Narcissa
"Exactly" Draco and I said at the same time
"Why do you want me here again?" Cissa asked
"We want you to perform the true love spell to discover who is Hermione's soulmate, Weasley probably thought we wouldn't find someone to perform the spell and do the potion but he was wrong. I know you can do it, so that is the exact reason why you are here, to perform the spell and help us with the potion afterwards." Draco said
"I will be glad to help you, I always liked you Hermione and I always thought that you and Draco would be friends at Hogwarts, if it wasn't for you blood at the time. I will do anything I can do to help." Narcissa said
"Mother, you already know the incantation of the spell, right" Draco asked
"Yes, I do and the potion's book, we will have to search for that but we have more than one week for the book" Narcissa responded
" How will we know who our soulmate is" Hermione asked
" A tattoo will make its way on your skin and your soulmate will have the same tattoo, if you are a wizard, only a magical being can be your soulmate. To give you a clue on who is your soulmate, you will most probably pass out and see the image of your soulmate in your subconscious, a part of your mind." She responded
"Okay, I'm ready for you to perform the spell"

The first thing I felt was pain in my left arm, I used every bit of energy I had left to look and I saw a beautiful tattoo with a rose surrounded by a snake, it was delicate and fierce at the same time. I finally passed out form the pain. I saw a flash of multiple memories. I saw nothing related to a soulmate, a boy or a girl, no images or memories on that. Until I saw a silhouette, easily determined as a masculine body, I saw the same tattoo that was on my left arm, the figure was in a dark corner, the figure turned and I saw platinum blond hair and piercing grey eyes. I didn't even had time to think before falling asleep
"ENNERVATE" Narcissa said
I felt the hard floor that I was lounging on and I woke up to the image of Narcissa's wand pointed at me.
