Without further ado here's the next part, Hope you like it.

"IN THESE SEVEN YEARS DID YOU NOT EVEN FEEL FOR ONCE THAT DEV HAD THE RIGHT TO KNOW ABOUT SUHANA?" asked Misha as Sonakshi was left tongue-tied.
All these years this was the very question she dreaded, she had expected this question from Dev or the Dixit family, but they never asked that. Though in her mind she was sure that she was right in keeping Suhana away from Dev and his family, she had her reasons to do that but deep in her heart there was guilt which she had hidden very well from everyone. The guilt of keeping Dev in the dark, the guilt of keeping a father and daughter away from each other & the guilt of not trying hard enough to inform Dev about their daughter. But then she had her reasons, she had lost her love, her family was homeless, she had to take care of her family and all this was because of the person she loved the most, DEV.
She always thought it was the punishment that Dev deserved for putting her and her family through so much pain and after 7 years when she met him she wanted to make him realize what he had lost out on, she made sure he craves for the love of their daughter as well as at the same time does not take her away prompting her to make him sign the document which along with the PRE-NUP had basically taken away all his rights that he had on his daughter as well as implicating him for their break-up, so desperate was he to spend time with Suhana that he accepted everything without any question and finally after 7 long years Sonakshi felt that the justice she and her family deserved was served. She kept quiet when Suhana had refused to acknowledge him as her father, even during their One-week arrangement she kept quiet while Bijoy hurled insults at him, though she felt bad, yet she felt that Dev deserved it. She felt just as Dev kept quiet during their marriage phase she was justified as well in keeping quiet.
But then Dev's mother and her past came into the equation which was affecting Dev and in turn Suhana, that's why she had decided to help him out though they had turned into acquaintances still she harboured a tiny bit of hate in her heart for him because of the pain she had gone through. But the dinner that night was the worst nightmare she could ever think of, all her illusions about Dev had shattered that day, all the truths that she believed in all these years were blown apart and along with it, it had shattered their lives as well.
Tears made was from her eyes as she kept quiet while Misha asked her again "Tell me Sonakshi, didn't you feel even once that Dev deserved to know about Suhana?"
"It's not that I did not try Misha, I did call him a few times when I got to know about my pregnancy, in fact when Suhana was six months old I had come with her to meet Dev, make him meet his daughter but I was told he did not want to meet me. I was shattered, I felt that Dev hated me so much that he did not want to meet his daughter either. I had to take care of my daughter, my family. I had no option but to put aside my pain and work for them, I had no option" said Sonakshi as she broke down, it was the first time in so many years that she had spoken about the past to someone.
Misha put her hand on Sonakshi's shoulder as she side hugged her trying to reduce her pain, as a girl who had lost her family and was alone for the past 12 years she knew the pain Sonakshi was going through, she let Sonakshi calm down before she spoke again.
"Sonakshi, I can understand the pain you must have gone through, but do you think it was only you? I have seen Dev going through the same as well. At least you had your family with you, but he did not even have that, Yes I agree he made mistakes, in fact even you made mistakes but did he or you or even Suhana. Did any of you deserve the pain that each one of you have gone through" said Misha as Sonakshi kept quiet, she knew what Misha said was the truth.
"I never wanted to keep Dev and Suhana away from each other Misha, I really did not want to" said Sonakshi as Misha looked at her closely, her words were genuine and sincere but then there was something which Misha wanted to ask.
"Are you being truthful to yourself Sonakshi?" asked Misha as Sonakshi looked gobsmacked, how could Misha question her about her intent.
"What are you saying Misha, how could you say that. Do you mean I never wanted Dev to meet Suhana?" asked Sonakshi angrily as Misha looked calmly at her.
"You believed that 7 years back Dev did not want to meet you or your daughter. He had thrown you out of his life. So, after coming back to Delhi why were you scared that Dev would meet Suhana. Why did you hide her from him, he had anyway rejected you guys so what difference would it have made even if he had met her? And even after he came to know about her and confessed that he never knew that you had come to Ishwari Niwas when Suhana was six months old still you made him sign the document making him responsible for all that had gone wrong between him and you. Taken away all his rights of making any decision for Suhana, in fact you kept quiet when Suhana refused to acknowledge him as her father. So how you expect me to believe that you never wanted to keep both away from each other. Unfortunately, whatever you had done indicate that you were not keen on making Suhana meet Dev Sonakshi" said Misha in calm yet cold tone, shocked would have been an understatement at that moment. All these days no one had questioned her for her actions, in fact her father who was her hero all her life had encouraged her saying she was doing the right thing. In fact, even Dev had not questioned her making her believe that she was indeed doing the right thing but today Misha's questions made her think did she do the right thing? In her want to hurt Dev, did she indirectly hurt Suhana and herself?
As Misha waited, Sonakshi spoke in low tone "I was scared Misha?" she said as Misha looked at her while Sonakshi continued "I was scared that just like I had lost Dev, I would lose Suhana as well. I had already lost my love to Dev's mother, I could not lose Suhana as well Misha. I was scared that Dev would listen to his mother and snatch Suhana from me" said Sonakshi as she sobbed, Misha understood her fears were valid, she had already been devastated once in life when she lost Dev, she could not lose her daughter as well.
"I understand your fear Sonakshi, but did you believe Dev would do something like that. Was your trust limited to that? You always knew his want for a daughter, your daughter yet you chose to hide her from him. The person who could not leave his mother even after the betrayal he faced from her did you really believe that he would separate a mother and a daughter, that too his own daughter?" asked Misha was once again Sonakshi was left speechless, yes her trust on Dev was completely shattered but why did she let her daughter bear the brunt of that.
"I still remember the day when he had come to know about Suhana and then his subsequent confrontation with you" said Misha as her memory went back to the day.

On the other hand, at DRISHTI Dev was reminiscing the same day when Badi Maa had asked him about the surety of his decision.

Dev had just returned to the office which he had opened for Misha & his other friends to work in, he had just returned after his confrontation with Sonakshi and was sitting in his cabin. Tears were flowing continuously from his eyes, just then Misha entered his cabin. He had not been in the office for the past two days and was worried about him as he did not pick her call as well. She felt it was one of those days when he would cut himself from the world and spend his time alone. Ever since Sonakshi had come back to Delhi this was first time it had happened, and she was worried that her presence again in his life must have prompted him to get secluded.
"Dev, Where were you for the past two days?" she asked hurriedly but the very next moment she saw him break down as Misha went towards him and held him.
"What's the matter Dev, why are you crying?" she asked as it seemed to break all the restraint that Dev had, he hugged her and sobbed loudly as he spoke "She calls me Mr.Dixit, Misha. She calls me Mr.Dixit?"
As soon as Misha heard Dev she was surprised, she did not know what Dev was alluding to. She felt it was about Sonakshi but then why was he shattered for he had made peace with her presence and hate for him.
"What are you talking about Dev?" she asked as Dev replied
"Suhana, My daughter. She calls me Mr.Dixit Misha. She does not call me nor acknowledge me as her father" he cried as Misha was shocked out of her wits.
"What?? You have a daughter Dev?" she asked as Dev nodded in smiling through his tears as Misha again hugged him, happy for him.
"How is she? How did you know about her? Did you meet her?" Misha hurled questions at him as Dev narrated the happenings of the past two days right from the time he came to know about Suhana to his confrontation with Sonakshi.
"You should be happy Dev? Why are you crying?" she asked as Dev replied "She does not acknowledge me as her father Misha, how expect me to be happy when my daughter refuses to call me Papa" he said as Misha looked at him sadly, life had finally given him happiness, but it seemed like even that was momentary.
"Did you speak to Sonakshi about it?" she asked as Dev replied
"Yes, And you know she says she is with Suhana. She knows the difference between right and wrong. And Sonakshi agrees to her. She says neither she nor Suhana require me in their lives and are happy without me Misha. They are happy without me" he spoke as he cried loudly while Misha just held him, she knew the pain he was going through. Just when she had thought that Dev was finally coming out of his past Sonakshi had come back and now this. She was sure her friend was shattered, and she was determined to reduce his pain.
"Dev, first calm down. Please calm down" said Misha as Dev calmed a bit while Misha continued "Dev, Sonakshi cannot keep a daughter away from her father. If you say we will take this up legally" she said as Dev nodded his head vigorously disagreeing with her.
"No Misha, I do not want do that. It will affect Suhana badly and I do not want that to happen. I will try to speak to Sonakshi and plead her to let me meet Suhana. I will do anything to meet Suhana, give her love and make her acknowledge me as her father Misha. I will do anything" said Dev as Misha just held him while he cried.

As Dev finished tears sprang in his eyes while Badi Maa just held him trying to allay his pain.
On the other side, the situation was no different with Sonakshi, she sobbed as Misha side hugged her knowing the guilt and pain she was going through.
"Tell me Sonakshi, was it fair for Dev, for Suhana and for you? Why did the differences between you and Dev let you decide for your daughter as well? Was it right on your part? Dev had acknowledged before Suhana that he failed as a husband but what made you think that he would not make a good father Sonakshi. Was he the only one at fault in your relationship Sonakshi? Does being a mother give you the privilege to decide whether Suhana needs her father or not? Tell me Sonakshi, were you right?" questioned Misha as Sonakshi was a crying mess by now, Misha's questions were gnawing her heart as she just held her and spoke.
"WHERE DID I GO WRONG MISHA? WHAT WAS MY MISTAKE? WHY DID WE SUFFER SO MUCH MISHA? WHY?"

Done, How was it??. Frankly, I am nervous as this is the part of the story which quite a few of the readers have been waiting for, so I do not whether I am able to do justice to their expectations or not. And I know this one would have been boring but it is important for the story to progress.
