Chapter 30 - The New S-Class Wizard!
Previously..
"We will have them fight each other."
We, three, reacted with surprise.
"Whoever loses, will not qualify to become an S-Class Wizard."
We remained silent.
"The first battle will be Natsu vs. Melanie and then Gray will fill in for whoever lost in the first battle. This will be THE FINAL TEST."
We, three, nodded.
"I will give you until midnight to get ready. Good luck to the three of you."
MIDNIGHT...
EVERYONE GATHERED AT THE LAKE..
THE TIME HAS COME!
"HELLO EVERYONE!", Master yelled as he got on a table. "WELCOME TO THE FINAL TEST OF THE S-CLASS EXAM!!"
Everyone cheered.
"NOW, HERE ARE OUR EXAMINEES:
NATSU DRAGNEEL!
GRAY FULLBUSTER!
AND MELANIE AYAME!
NOW, HERE ARE OUR S-CLASS WIZARDS:
GILDARTS CLIVE!
MIRAJANE STRAUSS!
AND ERZA SCARLET!
THEY WILL OBSERVE THE BATTLES AS THEY GO ON.
ALL RIGHT!!!! LET THE BATTLE BEGIN!!!"
Everyone cheered as loud as they can.
FIRST BATTLE: Natsu vs. Melanie!
"I'm not going to go easy! Not at all!", Natsu yelled. "I'm not going to give up!"
"Me neither!", I yelled as I got into position. "Give everything you got!"
Natsu made a smirk as he ran to me.
Natsu: Fire Dragon's Roar! Wing Attack! Brilliant Flame!
Me: Ex-quip! The Earth Warrior! Fire, Water, Earth, Wind Wall Barrier!
My shield blocked Natsu's attacks. Once my shield blocked his attacks, Natsu jumped into the air and came at me with his fists covered in flames. This showed that he wanted to fight with his fists. So, I fought back by using some kung-fu moves.
As he continued to attack me, I continued to blocked his attacks with my kung-fu skills.
Once I got away from him, I panted and said, "Okay..I'm getting tired.."
Me: Vine Whip!
As Natsu appraoched me, I got my Vine Whip and threw it over Natsu's arms.
Me: Vine Tangle!
My Vine Whip tied over Natsu's wrists, making him unable to move. Once he was unable to move, I jumped into the air, got my sword, and made my move..
Me: Fire! Water! Earth! Wind Current Shooter!
My attacks got him, which made him fall to the ground. Once I landed, he slowly got up, broke my Vine Whip's grip around his wrists, and stood, ready to attack some more.
Natsu: Crimson Lotus: Fire Dragon's Fist!
His attack came to me.
Me: Wind Storm! Tornado! Breeze!
The wind I unleashed made his fiery attack disappear.
Natsu: Crimson Lotus: Exploding Flame Blade!
Me: Fire, Water, Earth, Wind Wall Barrier!
My shield blocked the attack, but it continuously fought to break it. Natsu and I started to struggle.
"Oh my gosh! They're struggling!", Levy said in the crowd.
Everyone started worry.
Then suddenly, Natsu pushed harder as I did too.
As we continued to struggle, I attacked..
Me: Fire, Wind, Earth, and Water! The Power of the 4 Elements! Universal Wave!
Natsu reacted with surprise as he groaned with pain from my attack.
Everyone's mouths dropped with surprise as they saw Natsu falling to the ground with his eyes closed.
When the light dimmed, I panted as Natsu fell to the ground saying, "G-Good...job....Melanie..", with a smile.
I reacted with surprise.
"FIRST BATTLE COMPLETED!! MELANIE WON!!!", Master yelled. "AND NOT A SINGLE SCRATCH!!!!"
"What?!", I said with surprise as I looked at my body. My clothes were dirty, but it wasn't torn. My arms and legs didn't have any bruises, just dirt. And my hair, was a bit messy. I was amazed, that I could still stand. I unleashed a lot of power, and yet I don't feeling hurt.
I am so HAPPY!
"NEXT BATTLE!!!!"
I reacted with surprise as I got into position.
LAST BATTLE: Gray vs. Melanie!
"Hello, Melanie," Gray said, casually.
"You don't have to be so casual, Gray," I replied.
"I'm just trying to be nice."
"Nice? You're trying to be nice?"
Gray nodded.
"Maybe, you're just hiding the fact that you are actually scared."
Gray reacted with surprise, and removed his shirt.
"OH, BRING IT ON, MELANIE!", Gray yelled as I smiled at him.
Me: Ice-Make!
"THAT MAGIC?!", Gray yelled with surprise.
Me: Lance!
As I attacked, Gray dodged.
"THAT MAGIC! YOU ARE AN ICE WIZARD?!"
"I have the power of the 4 elements, Gray. You shouldn't be surprised that I use Ice Magic as well."
"Fine then, I guess I should go all out!"
"I think you should." I smiled as he smiled back, while running to me.
Gray: Ice-Make: Hammer!
I dodged the attack by jumping into the air as he continued to run.
Me: Ice-Make: Floor!
Gray dodged the attack by jumping into the air.
Gray: Ice-Make: Kite!
Me: Ice-Make: Wings!
We flew to each other.
Gray: Ice Bringer!
Me: Ice-Make: Shield! Wall! Barrier!
My shield blocked his attack, but it split it apart.
My eyes widened with surprise.
Gray: Ice Cannon!
His attack got me. My wings broke and then I slowly fell to the ground. Once I fell to the ground, Gray landed and raised his fist in the air, showing that he won. Everyone cheered.
But he didn't.
I placed my hand on the floor and slowly got up.
"No.."
Gray looked at me.
"No.."
Everyone stopped cheering.
Once I stood, I turned to Gray and yelled, "NO! IT'S NOT OVER YET!!!"
Suddenly, my crystal necklace started to glow in an icy blue color.
Everyone's eyes shined at its glow.
As it continued to glow, the glow shined brighter.
Everyone shielded their eyes, due to its glow. When the glow dimmed, I wore a beautiful icey blue dress with ice wings and I had an ice-made tiara.
Me: Hidden ex-quip! The Ice Princess!
Everyone was stunned, including Gray. "THE ICE PRINCESS?!"
"The Ice Princess..", Erza murmured.
"That's a stunning ex-quip!", Mirajane said.
"Melanie..", Gray murmured.
"With this ex-quip, my Ice Magic is enhanced," I said. "I'm sorry, Gray.."
Gray was speechless.
Me: Ice Blizzard!
With my attack, Gray was defeated.
Since it was my first time using this ex-quip, I fell immediately after I attacked. As I fell, I turned back to normal.
"GRAY IS DOWN!!! MELANIE W-- OH NO! MELANIE!!", Master yelled as people came to me.
"Melanie!", Lucy yelled.
"Melanie! You're going to be okay!", Erza yelled.
(A/N: Man...how many times has Melanie fell unconcious in this series? XP)
THE NEXT DAY..
I slowly opened my eyes and sat up, waking up in my room, finding everyone sleeping on the floor, on the couch, everywhere.
I smiled as I looked at them.
"They stayed here for me, huh? Gosh everyone. You can do anything.."
Suddenly, I noticed a Fairy Tail S-Class trophy on my table with a medal on top of it.
"I did it, didn't I. *sigh* I can't believe it! I am an S-Class Wizard! Oh my gosh! I can't believe it! I can't believe it! I can't believe it!"
I got so excited that I started jumping on my bed, waking everyone up.
"M-Melanie?", Natsu said, slowly getting up while rubbing his eyes.
"YES! YES! YES!!": I continually thought, until...
THUD!
I hit my head on the ceiling.
"OWWWW!!", I yelled as I touched my head and noticed that I woke everyone up.
I stood on my bed, completely embarrassed.
"I am so sorry!"
"It's alright. You do deserve to celebrate yourself!", Natsu said with a smile.
"Yeah! You really worked hard!", Gray yelled with a grin.
I started to cry with tears of joy as everyone started to cheer.
"AWW!! I'm feeling so much better!", I yelled as I jumped off of my bed and hugged everyone.
This is where and who I want to be with. I want to be in Fairy Tail and I want to be with everyone in it. Even though I don't them, I don't care. Everyone there is my family, my friends, my companions. It's my HOME. And I'm never going to leave.
As I continued to hug everyone, Juvia, with binoculars, hid in the bushes and watched me as she started to get pissed off..
