Annabeth's POV:
"I want answers!" I yelled at Umbra who was wearing robes and had a hood over her face "Why do you all live in Damasen's hut! Why does Orion live here? Where did Shad go!" I finished and Umbra looked me dead in the eyes
"Shut up Girl" A cold voice said and I turned around and saw a man who radiated evil "You're talking far to loudly" he finished and I stumbled back into a wall
"T-Tar-Tartarus..." I stammered and he smirked as I pulled my drakon bone sword out as the others brandished their weapons
"Put the weapons down" Another voice said as a guy with a sniper rifle walked in with it pointed at me "You're guests here" He said
"Of course they would lead us into a trap!" Jason said as Leo just walked over to a chair and sat down and kicked his legs up "Leo! What are you doing?!"
Leo just looked over at us and shook his head as a woman walked in and shook her head as well.
"No point in fighting, besides, if they wanted us dead, they would have killed us already" Leo said and Susie hid behind Hazels legs but soon peaked out and looked at Tartarus
"Y-You don't w-want to hurt u-us?" Susie asked and Tartarus knelt to her level and smiled softly
"Far from it little one" He said and Susie walked over to him and poked him and retreated as nothing happened
Tartarus then chuckled as a saber toothed tiger walked into the hut and curled up near a closed door.
"Please everyone, I swear on that woman over there that we mean you no harm" Umbra said as she pointed at the woman who waved slightly and thunder rumbled and my eyes widened as Shad walked out wearing a similar set of robes and a hood
"Umbra, he'll be fine" Shad said as he turned to us and groaned "Great, whatever, sure I don't care anymore" He grumbled as another woman walked in and looked at him curiously
"Shadow, where were you?" She asked and Shad started cursing
"I'm done! Get me when Umbra has finished explaining things, I cant deal with this right now" He said before he walked back into the room and closed the door
"Well, I guess today has been a trying day..." Tartarus said and my brain felt like it was about to shatter
"What the hades is going on!" I yelled just as Hades walked in and glared in my direction
"I guess I should explain..." Umbra said as she sat down and looked at us "Everything, from beginning to end" she finished as she started explaining to everyone who Shad was
(One long explanation that avoids explaining that shad is actually Percy later)
"I am going to go to bed... this is too much information" I said as I walked to a couch and passed out as I fell forward onto the cushions
Umbra's POV:
"So let me get this straight, Shad, is Shadow and he has been tasked by lady Chaos and his mother who is Styx to go to Fort Perseus to see what we needed help with?" Jason asked and I nodded "And he is also the champion of Tartarus and son of Hades??" he questioned and I nodded "At this point he must be considered Percy since he did..." Jason started to shout but trailed off and everyone looked at him expectantly
"Jason, what is it?" Piper asked and Jason sighed and sat down
"Son of the sea, death and oath" Jason said "Poseidon disowned Percy but apparently he kept his powers by becoming a son of the sea, and shadow is the son of Hades and Styx..." he said and I chuckled
"Took you all long enough to figure it out" I said and Tartarus laughed
"Well, we should apologize" Frank said as he caught onto what Jason was saying
"No point, he already forgave you all" Chaos said and everyone nodded "Now, since this has been a trying day for you all, why don't you get some sleep" She finished and everyone nodded before they walked to several places and fell asleep
I stood up and walked outside and just started practicing archery.
Shad's POV:
I was sitting in the room contemplating my next course of action when I heard a groaning from Lunar. I shot up and moved to his side as he opened his eyes and groaned more.
"W-Where the fuck am I?" He said and I chuckled
"You're in my hut, come on, lets get you to some water to heal up, well have you up and fighting again in no time" I said, expecting some sort of remark but instead got dead silence
"I failed..." He whispered and I looked at him
"What do you mean?" I asked and he looked at me and his eyes were dull
"I failed... I let my Tartarus get me and... they're gone..." He said in a broken voice and I sat down in a chair next to him "Instinct... Iota... they're gone..." He said and I understood
"They will come back, trust me" I said confidently and he shook his head
"I don't feel them..." He said and I sighed
"Get some rest man, you'll feel better soon" I said and he nodded as I walked out to a quiet hut 'I need to clear my head' I thought to myself as I walked out of the hut and went to the forge where I spent the next few hours hammering metal into random shapes
(Several days later)
"Shadow, we need to get back to the fort!" Annabeth pleaded as I was closing the door to Lunar's room
"Why? It's nice here" I said flatly as I pushed past Annabeth
Over the past few days, Lunar had been getting on my nerves, he's become so pessimistic, not his normal self. Something was wrong, something had changed him and by the gods it was annoying.
"They might need us back at the fort" She said and I spun around and glared at her
"Time here runs three times slower than the overworld Chase, get that fact through your damn brain. Three days here, is one day up top" I snapped as I turned and stormed off slamming the door to the hut open as let out a series of growls
"Shadow, please" Annabeth begged and I turned to yell at her again when Hades appeared out of the Styx river and I looked at him
"Shadow, let them go back, they are needed, forces have begun to attack the fort, and I fear its from Misery" He said and I growled
"Fine, tell Umbra to take you back, I'll see if I can get reinforcements" I said and Annabeth ran off while I walked back to Lunar's room and looked at him "Hey Lunar" I said and he looked at me
"Yeah Shadow?" He said and I calmed myself down
"Suit up, we're needed" I said and he shook his head
"I told you, I can't fight anymore... I'm nothing without my instincts and memories..." He said and I lost my temper
"Oh boo hoo, get your damned act together Lunar!" I shouted at him "You still have your damn memories, and your damn instincts, those two were just manifestations of them since you died and your soul was split up!" I said and I rubbed my eyes "I don't know what the fuck happened to you Lunar, but this isn't you, and it's freaking me the fuck out, we used to be the same. Same love of the thrill that fighting gave, same ideals and shit, now your different" I growled as I opened up his duffle bag and pulled a pen out and held it up "You don't fucking deserve this weapon if your going to act the way you are right now" I spat and he stood up and tried to grab the pen from my hand but I move it from him
"Give it back!" Lunar said and I held it in front of him
"Come and get it coward" I sneered at him and he looked down and sat on the bed again and I rolled my eyes "Pathetic, and here I thought you were on my level, obviously I misspoke" I said as I flicked the pen at him and it landed next to him "Come get me when your back to normal" I said as I walked out and slammed the door on him and I walked to the Styx river "Hey mom, keep an eye on Lunar please" I said and Styx formed and nodded before giving me a hug
"Stay safe okay?" She said and I nodded before I found the rest of the group and Annabeth looked at me
"Where are your reinforcements?" she asked and I growled
"He has taken his pasifaction pills and decides that he wants to stop fighting. The damned coward" I spat as I looked around "Well?! What are we waiting for!? Lets GO!" I yelled as we shadow traveled back to fort Perseus
Lunar's POV:
'Coward, pathetic, weak, unworthy' Shadow's voice echoed in my head as I stared at the floor
Instinct and Iota were missing causing me to feel empty. I felt incomplete, I felt weak, scared.
'Come to the river of the phoenix, child of the sea and moonlights protector' a voice said and I snapped my head up as I recognized the voice from years ago from the fight with Hyperion
However, the voice didn't persist so I just laid down and went to sleep only to wake up a moment later. I looked around and noticed that everything was quiet and it was darker outside as if it was to replicate night time.
'Come' the voice said and I looked around before shrugging it off when suddenly the mark on my left forearm burned fiercely
I dropped to the ground clutching it in pain as the voice entered my mind.
'Come'
