Five minutes 'til the bell. Class was almost over, and it was the last day of school. After today, I'd officially be a senior.
The clock couldn't go fast enough, though. It seemed like my class was going on forever. There had to be a way to pass the time. Let's see...
I looked around in my backpack and found a little journal.
A psychologist recommended that I write my thoughts and feelings into a journal of some sort. They said it would help me out whenever I felt depressed. I picked one up a while ago, but I didn't really open it until today. Not really my cup of tea I guess. Nonetheless, I went ahead and took a stab at it. Time to write my first journal entry!
June 8th
Ah well, I'm not really sure what I'm supposed to write in here... I guess I write my feelings? Thoughts? Regrets? Who knows. I guess this really this really wasn't a good way to pass the time.
Wait, didn't I have that girl in my English class last year? God, she's cute...
Ahaha alright Danny, don't be weird now. Just wait for the bell to ring.
Okay, so this was pretty lame. I liked to write stories, but this just didn't seem as fun. Maybe if more exciting things were going on around me? That would probably make it more interesting.
Like when Monika was around. If only I had my journal when she was still here.
Ah, but whatever.
I put the journal away and closed my eyes. I allowed my mind to get lost in thought.
I was soon interrupted by the bell.
Yes! Class was over! I immediately texted Keith and told him I'd meet him by his truck. I then texted Odin to let him know that we'd be meeting Keith by his truck. We already knew where he parked, so finding it wouldn't be difficult.
I headed to the truck and saw Keith sitting inside. As soon as he caught sight of me, he jumped out and greeted me.
"Hey Danny, what's up?"
"Hey Keith! Not much, really. But dude, we're finally seniors!"
"Oh well, I already graduated."
I laughed. "Oh right, I forgot. Well, uh, we can hang out earlier now! I have off blocks, so I'll be getting out earlier from now on."
"Nice dude. Hey, did you text Odin?"
"Yeah he should be on his way."
We got into truck and waited for Odin. After a couple of minutes, he arrived. Although, it seemed like forever. I jumped out of the truck to greet him.
"Odin!"
"Hey Danny, what's up?"
I gave him a fist bump. "Dude, we're finally seniors!"
"Yeah man!"
We got into the truck with Keith.
"Hey Keith," Odin said.
Keith gave him a fist bump. "Hey Odin."
"Hey who's truck is this," Odin asked.
Keith had gotten a new truck a couple of weeks ago, but Odin hadn't seen it until now since he didn't hang out with us as much during the school year. Hopefully that would change during summer.
"It's Keith's!"
"Well it's my dads, but it'll be passed on to me soon. But if I don't get this one, I'll get a mustang."
"Dude, nice."
Keith connected his phone to the radio and started playing music.
"Where are we going," I asked.
"To my apartment. Unless you wanna go somewhere else?"
"Nah man, it's all good! Yeah let's go for it."
On the way to the apartment, Keith suddenly turned off his music.
"What happened to the music," Odin asked.
"Give me a sec," Keith said.
We soon got to a stop light. Keith got on his phone and started typing something.
"Danny, you're gonna love this."
I was a little confused, but I suddenly realized what he meant when the music started playing.
"Oh my god!"
Odin started laughing as Keith opened the windows and put the music on full volume. He was playing Doki Doki Forever, a fan made song that Keith and I had seen on YouTube at his house. I think that was his first time seeing it. I had actually seen it many times before, and I even memorized the lyrics.
I especially loved the voices. They were all wonderful and very fitting, but if I had to pick a favorite, it would definitely be Yuri's. Just a personal opinion.
I sang along with the song and all my worries disappeared. I couldn't really sing very well, but I loved this song.
Kieth lowered the volume as we started to approach his apartment. He closed the windows and parked in the front.
"Where's your old truck," Odin asked.
"My dad took it to work."
"Ah."
Keith opened the door. "Come inside guys."
We entered Keith's apartment. It was like my second home, and if felt that way upon entering. I knew where everything was, and Keith shared his closet with me, so I had clothing here to change into. I could pretty much live here.
Odin wasn't here very often, but he had a pretty good idea of the place also.
We followed Keith upstairs. Odin plopped himself on the couch, and Keith offered to let me use the computer. I took him up on his offer and started it up. Keith lied on the bed and used his phone. Odin did so as well.
"Hey Keith, could I charge my phone?"
"Yeah, go for it."
I connected my phone by his bed. He then put the password on the computer for me. Even though he had told me it many times, I felt uncomfortable logging into someone's computer.
Well, just Keith's computer. I don't know, I just feel weird.
I started it up and saw Monika on the desktop. Keith decided that he wouldn't change the background since I used his computer a lot and he assumed that seeing Monika made me happy.
And it did. I missed Monika, and being able to see her face made me smile, even if it did hurt a little.
It sucked knowing that I probably wouldn't see her again. All we could do was randomly communicate through files on my laptop. And I guess through Monika After Story.
I opened the browser and went to wattpad. I was almost done with the story I had been writing about Monika and I. I just needed to wrap it up and finish it. I figured that the fictional version of me could have a happier ending and spend the rest of his life with Monika.
Nah. Let's ruin him.
I started typing. Slowly reaching the end of the story. After a while, I finished it up and went on the next part.
The epilogue.
It was short, so I finished it quickly. I put in some photos in another part, and even left another part where I asked people questions.
And with that, it was done.
I hadn't realized how long I had taken on the story. It was already about to be two.
I closed the page and turned to my friends. "Hey guys, what do you guys wanna do?"
They both looked up from the their phones and looked at me.
"I'm not sure. What do you wanna do, Odin," asked Keith,
"I don't know. You guys hungry?"
"Yeah! I mean, I could eat," I said
Keith took his keys out of his pocket, making them jingle. "Let's go."
We went outside and Keith drove us around for a while so that we could decide on a place. We ended up choosing one of the nicer wings restaurants in our city.
We hung out there for a while, just eating and talking, sometimes taking occasional glances at the TV.
It was rare when the three of us just talked to each other. We usually just ended up joking around and such. This time was different though. Everyone was calm, and we talked calmly to each other. It was actually pretty nice.
After spending some time there, we headed home.
