Day 29: Words of Chance
The time ticks on, and I am bored,
So bored that I just want to scream,
Scream out, "I need some inspiration!"
But nothing fires my waning theme.
I feel my words turn into steam
The moment I commit my thoughts
To fickle lines in fickle rhymes,
Connecting words, connecting dots.
In disentangling all these knots,
My fickle brain struggles to flush
The contents of this writer's block,
This constipated mental crush.
So word-by-word, the underbrush
I sweep and scythe with feisty words
Of courage on the mocking page,
For words are power, words are swords
That cut the chain to free the birds,
Those magic flights of inspiration
Trying its wings against the wind,
Setting the fire to meditation
And giving these words a firm foundation.
