Carter's P.O.V
" So what is this, like a disease?" big guy questions, poking the dead body with a stick in the courtyard.
" Yeah, but we're all infected."
" What do you mean, infected? Like AIDS or something?" moustache questions, a scoff escaping my lips. I place my gun back, still having an arrow ready in my hands.
" Let's say I'd kill you, shot and arrow in your chest, you come back like that. It's gonna happen to all of us," I explain, letting it sink in.
" Ain't no way these Robin hood cats responsible for killing all these freaks. Must be fifty bodies out here." He looks around a moment before staring at Rick. " Where do you come from?"
" Atlana."
" Where you headed?"
" For now, nowhere."
" I guess you could take that area down there near the water. Should be comfortable," he states, making me scoff again.
" That won't be necessary. We took out these walkers, this prison is ours."
" You snatched the locks off our doors."
" We'll give you knew locks, if that's how you want it."
" This is our prison. We were here first."
" Locked? In a broom closet?" I question, making Rick give a small snigger before I continue. " We took it, set your asses free. It's ours. We spilled blood."
" We're moving back into our cell block."
" You'll have to get your own," Rick states.
" It is mine. I've still got personal artifacts in there, that's about as mine as it gets!" He pulls out his gun, Rick doing the same with his as Daryl aims his bow again. I drop my head, shaking it in annoyance and stupidity.
" Whoa, whoa, whoa, maybe let's try to make this work out so everybody wins!" moustache exclaims.
" I don't see that happening."
" Neither do I."
" Jesus Christ it's fucking dick measuring contest up 'n here," I mumble, tossing my bow over my shoulder, my arrow now in my quiver. " We'll make you guys a deal," I announce, making everyone look at me. " We clear out another cell block for y'all, you stay out of our fuckin' way. And we get half of what's left in that lunch room.... Or try your luck on the road."
" Are you insane!" Daryl whisper-yells.
" Look, this guy isn't leaving except if he's in a body bag so might as well let him. Besides we got the keys don't we?" I question, Rick humming in agreement.
" There's only a little bit left," the leader states.
" Don't seem like you starvin' much." I take a few steps closer to him. " We got a deal?" He slowly walks to me, spitting in his hand as if it'll disgust me. I spit in mine, grabbing his hand and shaking them both.
" Deal."
