We didn't talk for a while after that. I admit I did compliment him, and he said it was inspired by his parents... which I thought was really sweet. Not that they would ever hear it. He told me that it was just some song, his first song he ever wrote and it was the only one he could sing on the spot.

After he re- explained I just smiled lightly and thanked him for trying to get over his fears.

We were quite the rest of the way North to San Francisco and it was a comfortable silence. Soon we were in town looking for a place to park and then waited 15 minutes for a guy who had been just getting in his car to turn it on, get out of the spot and then I had to laugh at how Dominic tried over and over again to park my car.

"You know it's not as easy as it looks when you are used to driving a huge truck." He defended when I was still smiling brightly after getting out of the somewhat good parked car.

"Sure it's not. It's just smaller and lower to the ground." I teased and he just rolled his eyes.

"Just lead the way to the clothing store." He ordered and I just smiled happily and walked down a few blocks and turned right into the store.

"Barnie!" I shouted to my mom's longtime friend as soon as I walked in and he was standing there fixing some clothes.

"Jesy my girl how are you? How is your mom?" He asked walking over and hugging me tightly.

"I'm as good as can be. So is she." I answered when we parted a bit.

"And who is this? Are you bringing your first boyfriend to meet little ole me?" He asked rushing towards Dominic who had just been watching us.

"Not boyfriend... dance partner." I corrected and he looked between us and sighed.

"You need a boyfriend." He scolded and then turned back to Dominic. "Do you have a name?" He asked and held out his hand.

"Dominic." I said and Dominic shared a look with me before focusing back on Barnie.

"Dom." He introduced and shook his hand.

"Barnie." He said playfully in the same tone. I watched as he sized him up and almost laughed the way Dominic seemed to try and hide his muscles.

"Dominic and I are looking for some dance clothes... for a competition." I said the last part after a few moments.

"You are dancing again? In front of people?" He asked happily but I just nodded solemnly. "You should be happy. First Juilliard and now a competition." He gushed walking back over and hugging me again. "Your mom must be so proud." He said and then started playing with bits of my hair.

"She's happy about it." I said knowing proud isn't the word I would describe her feelings. Not yet anyways. She would be proud if we won. She is happy I am trying to compete again.

"As she would be! This is a great day! Am I invited?" He suddenly got very serious.

"I would have thought my mom already invited you." I said and he just nodded and laughed.

"And you!" He turned to Dominic and hugged him making Dominic freeze up. "You are the reason she is dancing again! Right?" He asked letting Dominic breath a bit.

"No, not really." He eyed Barnie but as usual Barnie was unfazed.

"Of course you are! I bet if she didn't have a partner she wouldn't have tried at all." He said slapping Dominic on the shoulder and then turning back to me. "Now, what kind of outfits do you have in mind?" He asked and I looked at Dominic in the eyes for the first time.

"White jackets for the boys with a white tank tops and black slacks. Girls will wear all black." He said and I was a little impressed. At least we wouldn't be all matching. It actually sounded great.

"Come with me." Barnie said and started walking behind the counter. I walked first leaving Dominic to follow me. Soon we came into the back where the fabrics were and I just smiled. I used to love running around this place when I was little.

"Are you okay?" Dominic asked really close to my ear making me jump.

"Yeah. Why do you ask?" I said turning to him a bit.

"You stopped walking and I almost ran into you." He said and I realized he was right.

"Sorry." I said walking a bit faster wondering if he was really following behind me that close.

"So, would this work for you?" I heard Barnie ask as if he was lifting something heavy. I didn't see him though.

"Where are you Barnie?" I asked loudly and then heard an oaf and turned a corner seeing a bunch of cloths at his feet and even more in his hands.

I rushed over and started picking stuff up and so did Dominic and soon we were following the leader to a huge table.

"I was thinking, this kind of jacket in white." He said offering up a nice jacket, button up somewhat professional.

"Yeah." Dominic said walking over and looking at the different sets of whites Barnie had gotten down for us.

"And then this kind of material for a similar type of jacket, and then a simple black crew neck underneath." He said and I just watched as he put together a shiny material and a basic black shirt.

"I like it." I said and he clapped happily.

"As for the pants I am going to go with regular dance material with all black and a shiny black strip down the side." He said and I just imagined the best looking outfits and just nodded, approving.

"I like it... a lot actually." I said and he just went through the designs and I just agreed. But then I remembered Dominic came to put his opinion on things and he wasn't even paying attention. "What do you think Dominic?" I asked and he just looked over at me and then walked over keeping eye contact.

I seemed to shirk as he got closer. I wanted him to say he approved so we could just go eat something. I don't know what time it was but I am hungry already.

"It's good." He said and I swear I almost hugged him when he said it.

"It will be ready in about 3 hours. My dear do you have all the measurements?" He asked and nodded going into my bag and taking out the folded up paper.

"We need Dominic to be measured." I said realizing he wasn't measured and how long it takes.

"No, just get me some stuff you know wouldn't fit." Dominic tried to brush it off losing his smile.

"No, that's not how we do things around here. Come over here and just stand like the statue in Rio." Barnie said and I just laughed at Dominic's face.

"What?" He mouthed to me and I demonstrated and pushed him lightly to where Barnie would have full access.

"You have fabulous pectoral muscles." Barnie said while measuring the length of his chest.

"Thanks?" He sounded so uncomfortable I had to let loose a laugh and then hide my face as I went over and sat in a chair.

"Nice thick waist as well." I could tell Barnie was doing this type of stuff to get Dominic even more uncomfortable and it was working.

You see to most people Barnie comes off as a gay man, but he is far from it. His daughter is a four years older than me, his son is two years younger than me. His wife was my mom's other best friend.

"Can we hurry this up?" Dominic asked and I just laughed a bit more. "Are you enjoying this?" He asked turning his face to meet my eyes.

"Kind of. Barnie stop messing with him." I ordered and he just sighed.

"Messing with me? How?" Dominic asked looking between the bot of us.

"I'm not gay, but I could tell you thought I was and that made you uncomfortable... so I decided to go along with it. Boy are you a sight to behold when you are uncomfortable." Barnie teased and made Dominic spread his legs and he measured each one.

"After this you are paying for lunch." Dominic said glancing over my way with a smirk.

"Barney can you do me a favor?" I asked and tilted my head a little.

"Sure." He smiled back and after a few second and Barnie writing down his number he got up slowly and pinched Dominic's ass making Dominic jump high in the air. Soon he settled down as he took another measurement and that's when I heard a big inhale around Domini's neck making him squirm away.

"Will you stop that!" He shouted with a glare to both of us. I knew he might lash out, but not like that.

"Calm down boy. That was for ordering a fine young lady to buy lunch when you are a fine capable man. You will buy her lunch." Barnie's glare met Dominic's and I just stayed where I was.

"I was going to anyways. I know exactly where to go anyways." Dominic cracked first after about 2 minutes leaving me confused.

He was going to buy me lunch? Really?
