Yeah... I have mentioned that I quite disliked writing one-shots with a yandere character who wasn't the reader? Don't ask me what I wrote cuz I don't know either.

I am so sorry for taking this long and for not publishing in ages. And I am also super sorry for this terrible one-shot... I really tried to make it less... generic, sorta...

~~~ Start ~~~
The first time he saw her was when he passed her on the streets. She was just casually wandering the empty streets of the town.
The streets which were deserted on such a beautiful day.
She hummed a sweet tune as she skipped into the forest to collect some medicinal herbs. She was unaware of the eyes watching her.
Erik immediately followed after her, the blue cloak that he now always wore trailing behind him.
He was almost captivated by the tune that she hummed. She was the most interesting person in the town at the moment.
It's not like he had anything better to do anyway.
He followed behind her, making sure to keep a distance away as he did. He watched the things that moved in the shadows as they seemed to surround her.
But of course, the girl didn't see nor notice the shadows, for she was too absorbed in her own world.
The basket in her arms started to be filled with the herbs she found in the forest.
As she smiled to herself and prepared to head back, she then first noticed that something was wrong.
The hairs on the back of her neck stood on edge as she hesitated, stepping back in fear. Low growls slowly filled the forest, replacing the previous tune that she hummed.
Fear flashed in her eyes as she stared at the creatures that appeared before her, completely surrounding her.
Just as the first one ran towards her at a terrifying speed, it disappeared, making [Name] confused. She blinked once before glancing at the person who saved her.
Their eyes connected for a mere second as he looked away once again, glaring at the things that appeared in the shadows.
He fought them all off in seconds, the poison surrounding his arms. [Name] still remained in a state of shock, unsure of what was happening.
"T-Thank you," she eventually stuttered, bowing her head to him.
"There's no need to thank me," Erik told her as he prepared to leave.
"You're hurt," [Name] stated softly, looking at the cut that was on his cheek. "Let me treat it?"
He looked back, still deciding whether or not he should stay. His inner thoughts eventually won and he nodded.
"I'm [Name], what's your name?" [Name] asked, smiling slightly. She hurried to catch up with him.
"Erik."
As the two walked backed into the town, which still seemed deserted, [Name] attempted to talk to him but he refused to reveal too much about himself.
She treated him for tea in her house, inviting him to stay. But Erik knew that he had to do something else first.
His eyes, however, stayed on [Name] the entire time, wanting to know even more about her.
"You're leaving already?" [Name] asked, Erik raised from his seat.
He nodded as he headed towards the door. She frowned slightly as she held onto the hem of his cloak.
"Would you come back to visit sometime? The town's so empty nowadays, you must be a traveller right? Would you tell me about your adventures?"
He glanced the girl who he had just met in the eye, an unknown feeling in his body.
He felt possessive over her, not wanting anything or anyone to touch her as he left. He didn't want anyone else being close to her.
He had only just met her. Why was he feeling this way?
"You shouldn't trust people too easily,"
"But I can trust you can't I? You did save me after all,"
"I don't trust myself around you so you shouldn't either."
And with that, he left the house with no more words. She watched him leave with sad eyes, feeling an emptiness in her heart. He didn't even say goodbye.
Is this what they call love at first sight?
Did it even exist?
To have a handsome stranger save you seemed to be one of those events that happened only in a story or a dream.
Yet it was real. Was it not?
It couldn't have been just a dream.
Right?
∞∞∞
Over the next few weeks, [Name] always felt an unsettling feeling following her as she walked around town.
Many people often stayed inside their houses because of the fear that the dark guild which ruled over the town would kill them all.
But [Name] wasn't afraid of them. If she was, then how else were the other villagers meant to survive if none of them dared to venture in the streets?
She hummed the same sweet tune once again, looking after a sickly little boy as she rinsed the sweat from his forehead. It filled the room with a warmth as the boy who she was treating felt the slightest bit more comfortable.
"Will he live?" the older boy in the room asked as the girl smiled gently at him.
"Yes. He'll be perfectly fine in a few days," [Name] told him, stepping back from the bed as she left a bad of herbs on the table. "But you'll have to constantly monitor him just in case something happens."
"Thank you. I'll walk you back home,"
"You aren't afraid of the dark guild?"
"Not the slightest. It's the least I can do. I'm in need of some fresh air anyway," the boy offered her a genuine smile.
[Name] smiled back, as she followed beside him. He opened the bedroom door for her, that perfect smile still on his face. Colour dusted her cheeks as she quickly glanced away.
The two passed by his mother on the way out. The older woman thanked [Name] gratefully, who insisted that there was no need.
The boy quickly ushered [Name] out the door when his mother started to rant about marriage and grandchildren, their faces both a crimson red.
He walked her back to the other side of the town, telling jokes to [Name], who couldn't seem to stop smiling. She could feel uneasiness in her heart, but not even that could dampen her mood.
"May I see you tomorrow?" he asked her as she started to unlock the door of her house.
"You don't have to ask," [Name] answered him, watching as the grin grow larger on his face.
"Then I'll be here around noon,"
"Alright. I'll be waiting."
With those exchanged words, he left and [Name] watched his retreating back, waving when he turned.
A warm feeling filled her heart as she was oblivious to the anger that seemed to radiate from the shadows opposite her. Oblivious to the danger that it warned.
She felt as though the feeling from a few weeks ago was nothing but a distant memory. Nothing but a dream.
There was no feeling of emptiness, for this boy had promised to see her again the next day.
[Name] pinched herself, unsure if this was just a dream or not, but she could feel the sting on her arm.
A smile appeared on her face as she became certain that this wasn't just a dream but reality.
The stranger from weeks ago has long left her mind.
∞∞∞
Erik watched as the two became closer every day, watching them with a raging fire in his eyes. He was supposed to have gone back long ago, but because he wanted to continue to see her, he didn't go back.
But when he had gone back to the town, he had seen her with another person who wasn't him.
A snarl escaped his lips as he sat on the roofs, looking down at them.
Now that the dark guild was gone, the town appeared much livelier, with music and chatter around each corner of the streets.
She was his and no one else's. They weren't allowed to be near her. No one was allowed to claim her because she was his and his alone.
He didn't care if it seemed unreasonable because he has only met her once. He didn't need any more confirmation.
No one else mattered.
He disappeared off the roof, not leaving a single trace that he was ever there.
[Name] glanced up as she walked alongside the boy, suddenly feeling a chill run up her spine. She wasn't the most observant person in the world, but even she couldn't miss the glares that seemed to be sent her way.
"What's wrong?"
"Oh it's nothing," [Name] smiled assuringly at him, as she looked back towards the path in front of them.
"If you say so." he nodded, wrapping an arm around the girl's shoulder.
Their conversation continued from before as [Name] tried to ignore the bad feeling in her gut.
They walked back to [Name]'s house and seemed to chat away for days on end. [Name] soon forgot about the uneasy feeling that she had before. It was always like this.
He made her forget about all the worries she had. Being with him felt like a dream to her.
But it seems that dreams never last very long.
Not long at all in fact.
As [Name] sat quietly in the kitchen, reading a book to pass the time as she waited for her boyfriend to finish the dinner that he was so insistent on cooking.
A sudden crash from the kitchen caused her to glance up from the words on the page. She called out his name in worry but was left in silence.
The book dropped to the floor as she rushed towards the kitchen only to be met with a flash of blue.
She stood in the doorway, a look of shock and terror on her face when she looked at the scene in front of her.
Two boys on the floor, both struggling over the other with a knife in between them. One her boyfriend and the other a stranger that she distantly remembered.
Erik. That was his name was it not?
They were both coloured in the scarlet red of blood and it seemed that her boyfriend wasn't going to make it out.
Words could barely be formed in her mouth.
"[Name]! Get out of here!" her boyfriend yelled, attempting to kick the mage off him.
"What are you doing?! Get off him!" [Name] shook her head, taking a step forward in a desperate attempt to save his life.
Her teary eyes met his narrowed eyes, which had a dangerous glint to them. He seemed completely different from the person who had saved her life.
Was this what he meant when he told her to not trust him?
But she hadn't done anything wrong!
Erik stood up, taking one step towards [Name] who was still in a state of shock. He was instantly tackled back to the ground.
"Mine." a low growl sounded from Erik's throat as attempted to throw off the struggling boy.
"She doesn't belong to anyone! [Name]'s not a possession to be owned," her boyfriend defended, meeting [Name]'s eyes. "Go! Get someone!"
[Name] nodded straight away, dashing out of her own house to find the head of the village.
The image that was left in her mind to traumatise her for the rest of her life, reminding her of him.
It didn't take too long for a dream to turn into a never-ending nightmare.
She could never wake up from the nightmare now that she knew that the spine-chilling feelings she felt were real.
She could never wake up from the nightmare now that she realised that no one could be trusted. Not even those who seemed like heroes at first.
She will always be terrified and haunted by the image of the male with maroon hair and a scar above his eye.
Terrified that he would come after her once again.
