Lara's P.O.V. :
"What do you mean?" I asked raising my eyebrows. Apparently, the two females standing in front of me think that Shane loves me but haven't realized it yet.
"We mean that Shany loves you, Lara. I have seen how differently he behaves when he's around you. How the man who has never failed to shut his rivals up stays mum or stammers in front of you. If this ain't love then I don't know Lara what love is." Cameron said
"...really?" I asked more to myself.
"Yes, dear. He really loves you. My stubborn son just needs a little bit of sense of realization. And that my dear is your work to do." She said pointing her index finger towards me dramatically.
"Me? But how? I mean we are just guessing that maybe he loves me. We don't know for sure if he really loves me. And trust me, he doesn't love me." I said and looked out of the window to ignore their gazes.
He wouldn't have agreed for the marriage if he was in love with me. No, he doesn't love me.
I shook my head to get rid of this thought.
"Lara.." Cameron turned me to look into her eyes.
"...look at me and answer me honestly, don't you love him?" She asked with an authoritative tone
"That doesn't matter anymore-" I was cut off by her.
"Just answer me, Yes or No, Lara?" She asked again.
"Yes. Yes, I love him." I finally confessed
She grinned at me widely and took me into her embrace.
"Thank you for loving my stubborn brother. Thank you so much." She said wiping her tears of happiness.
I smiled back.
"But, that doesn't make any difference. He's marrying Tiara." I said sadly looking down at my feet
"He'll marry that girl if you'll let him to. But, you my dear, as far as I know, aren't one of those girls who sacrifice their love. You have the capacity to snatch your love from the devil." Mrs Adams said holding my shoulders and squeezing it encouragingly.
"What do you mean?" I asked again
"Cammy, I think we need to give some tips to my to-be-daughter-in-law. We need to teach her how to get her man back." Mrs Adams said looking at Cameron. They both giggled dramatically making my eyes furrow.
Next morning...
*Cara walked down to the living area where she finds Josh and Mrs Adams sitting on the couch and eating fruits.
She walked up to them and sits in between them.*
"Good morning Cara. You're feeling good?" Mrs Adams asked her lovingly
"Yes, grandma." She said rubbing her eyes from the back of her hand.
"Where's mommy?" She asked in a sleepy voice
Mrs Adams took her into her arms and made her sit on her lap
"Your mommy has gone out with Josh's mommy. She'll come back soon." She informed whilst caressing her hair lovingly
"Why has she gone out?" She asked again leaning on Mrs Adams chest.
"Because your daddy needs to be taught the lesson. He needs to know what he's missing out on." Mrs Adams replied with a smirk on her face.
"Okay now, kids, let's get ready. There's a party tonight and we've got a lot to do." She said and the kids cheered with excitement and followed Mrs Adams
Lara's P.O.V. :
" Why are we doing this, Cam-"
"Shhh! no more talking. Gosh, you're as stubborn as my brother. Just keep quiet and let them do their work. And don't make a pregnant woman talk so much or you'll have to face my mood swings." Cameron said in a single breathe and sat on the couch beside the huge dressing table.
"Okay-okay," I said as I rose my hand in surrender. Obviously, I wouldn't dare to tense Cameron or I'll have to deal with her deadly mood swings.
So I just sat there for the next one hour and then after the hour has passed I stood up and looked at my reflection in the mirror and to say that I got awestruck would be an understatement.
Cameron's P.O.V.:
"Cammy, are you guys done or not? The party has started and he's landed in the city and is already on his way to the party." Mom said through the phone.
"Okay, good. We are on our way too. We'll reach there by 7:30. Bye" I informed and cut the call.
I hope everything goes as per the plan.
Little brother, get ready to regret your decision of marrying Tiara. I smirked internally
I looked at my side and saw Lara fidgeting with her fingers.
I put my hand on hers and rubbed them.
She looked at me and smiled.
"Do you think that this is gonna work?" She asked nervously
"I don't think so but I know so that this is gonna work. If I know my brother then this plan is exactly what we need to do." I said with confidence.
She smiled.
"But what exactly am I suppose to do?" She asked raising her eyebrows.
"You just need to go with the flow. The remaining rest is his work to do."
I looked at her and smirked.
"His?" She asked and I winked at her.
Lara's P.O.V. :
I stayed in the car for about 15 minutes as I was instructed by Cameron who went inside the mansion. She told me that she'll inform me when to come inside.
So, here I was waiting in the car and looking at the phone every now and then hoping to get her call.
I don't know if what we're doing is right or wrong but Cameron said to trust her so that's what I am doing. I only know a part of the plan but the remaining part of the plan is still not known to me. I just hope that everything goes as per Cameron's plan.
I was busy in my thought when I heard a knock on the car window. I slid down the window shield slowly and found a bodybuilder kind of guy wearing a black suit with Bluetooth in his ear. He looked like a bodyguard.
"Yes?" I asked
"Ms Jones, Mr Stone sent me to escort to the party. He'll meet you inside the mansion itself." He informed me and opened the door for me.
"Mr Stone? Who is he?" I asked him as I gave my hand to him as he helped me out of the car.
"Ma'am, he's my boss and the remains you'll know by yourself when you'll reach the party." He informed me and lead my way inside the mansion where the party was taking place.
What's happening? I thought to myself.
As I entered the mansion which was decorated with millions of orchids and lights looked mesmerizing. I saw it filled with hundreds of guests dressed in the designer dresses.
As I walked in I found many people looking at me with their mouth open and pupil dilated. I looked at them and smiled shyly. Why are they looking at me like this? I asked myself
As I walked more inside the party, I finally saw some known faces. But, unfortunately, those known faces weren't the faces I wanted to see at this very moment. Looking at their faces and specifically, his face made me fidget more.
His gaze on me was so intense that even from a good 6-7 meters distance I could feel his intensity. He was looking at me with his mouth slightly open
"Oh my god, Lary! You're looking amazing. I thought that nothing could match to the lights and decoration of this huge party but girl you are like literally overpowering this party. The limelight of this party is nothing in front of you." Ash said in a single breathe and took me in a bone-crushing hug.
"Thanks, Ash." I chuckled.
"Oh my my, look at this gorgeous girl over here." I heard Mrs Adams say with a smile. I looked at her who was coming towards me with Cara and Josh following her.
I smiled at her as she came and stood in front of me.
"Thank you," I said and accepted her hug.
"Mommy, you're looking like a princess. " Cara said excitedly
"Am I?" I asked as I leaned down to reach her height.
"Yes!" She said and put her arms around my neck.
I stood back and then turned to look at Shane and Tiara who were being introduced to guests by Shane's father. Though I could guess that Mr Adams wasn't a bit interested in his guests as he kept staring at me continuously.
"Lara, come. I want you to introduce you to someone." Mrs Adams said as she pulled me by my hands.
I followed her excited footsteps.
"Who are we going to meet?" I asked confused
"Someone...someone really special." She said and stopped which made me stumble but before I could completely fall on the floor, I was saved by a strong pair of arms.
For a second I thought that Shane saved me as I guessed by the strong grip of the hands but when I opened my eyes, I found an amazingly dashing face staring at me. And that dashing face wasn't of Mr Adams but someone else.
He smiled at me showing his gorgeously structured teeth.
I smiled back awkwardly.
He helped me stand up properly on my feet.
"You're okay, alright?" He asked in a very a gentlemanly tone. I thought that I would meltdown because of his voice.
"Yes," I replied shyly
"Zack, my boy." I heard Mrs Adams call him
We both turned to look at her.
"Hey, gorgeous!" He exclaimed smiling charmingly.
They both hugged each other. They started talking to each other like a son and mother who are meeting after a long time.
"So, this is the whole situation." Mrs Adams said sighing. They both looked at me.
What? Did I miss something?
"Don't you worry, aunt. Now I am here to solve this matter." He said keeping his hands on her shoulders and assuring her
"I have full confidence in you. I know if there's anyone who can teach my stubborn son a lesson then it's you and only you." Mrs Adams said as she touched his cheeks, lovingly.
"Now, if you'll excuse me, I'd like to enjoy the party with my date." He said as he looked at me and winked which made my eyes go wide in shock.
Date?
Mrs Adams chuckled and showed me thumbs up to a sign and left us alone.
"Hello, my lady. People call me Zack...Zack Stone..." He introduced himself
So he's Mr Stone...
"...and you can call me anything you would call me with love." He continued as he took my hand in his and kissed at the top of it.
"Huh..." I looked at him confusedly
"I hope that you know the whole plan?" He asked playfully
"Plan? What pla-" I was cut off when he came closer to me and pulled me towards himself by my waist which took me totally off guard.
"What are you doing?" I asked as I tried to get free from his hold.
"My lady, time to meet the lover boy." He said as he forwarded me towards Shane who was looking at us with bloodshot eyes. I could feel his burning gaze on me.
Today I'm dead. I thought as I walked towards him with Mr Stone's hand on my waist.
