Alex's POV
I wake up and look over at my phone it was 1:30 in the morning I look over next to me to see Demi and Jeremy sleeping I smile and I gently wrap a blanket around them I kiss Demi on the cheek and she gently opens her eyes and she said
"Did we fall asleep while watching the movie.?"
"Yeah it's 1 in the morning want me to take you two to bed.?" I said
she nods her head and smiles I take Jeremy first and Demi kisses is forehead I gently walk up the stairs and place him on his bed and kissed him goodnight. I walk back downstairs and I see Demi asleep again she wakes up a little and she says
"Baby I'm so sleepy." she says with a smile
"Want me to carry you upstairs too.?" I said with a small giggle
"Yes please." she said in a childish tone
I put my arm on her knees and another arm on her back and I gently pick her up she has her arms wrapped around my neck, she looks at me and says
"Woah careful you don't drop me when you climb up the stairs." she says
"Demi honestly I can run and still not drop you you're completely safe in my arms." I said
"I always feel safe in your arms baby." she whispers in my ear
she gently leans in and kisses me we pull apart for a second and she smiles and I smile back at her she yawns and she rests her head on my shoulder
I walk up the stairs and and I walk to the bed and I place her gently on the bed she smiles at me and kisses me again I walk over to the bathroom to brush my teeth and when I get back Demi is sound asleep I quietly walk towards the door and close it. I go downstairs into the living room and pick up my phone I decided to call Jennifer since I needed to tell someone about the letter I got today I couldn't tell Demi yet but I just needed to tell someone about after a few rings she answers
"Hello.?" she said
"Hey Jen did I wake you up.?" I said
"No I was awake anyway I was watching a movie what's up is everything okay with you and Demi.?"
"Everything's great but I need to tell someone this because I can't tell Demi quite yet and I wanted to let it out and I turned to you."
"What's wrong Alex.?" she said
"Remember in the beginning of Senior year when I signed up for that program for the college I was going to.?"
"Yeah that U.S Army program to help villages and stuff you didn't shut up about it for a week what about it.?"
"Well I just got the letter today after months and months of waiting I finally heard back....I got in."
"You got in congrats dude!' she said
"Thanks but here's the bad part about this."
"What is it.?" she said
"It's in a war zone I might fight into combat if I have too in case things get out of hand I leave in 2 months."
"What about Demi and Jeremy.?! Alex did you even tell Demi or showed her the letter.? Alex for god sakes I know you always wanted to help people but I don't want you getting hurt or heaven forbid you being killed." she said
"I'm not gonna die Jen.... but I'm telling her after graduation her parents are coming over tomorrow and she's stressed out as it is I don't want to cause anymore stress on her and they said I'll be protected by their highest soldiers in case anything happens." I said
"Still Alex knowing you you're going to fight and try to save other people which I admire you for but I don't want you putting yourself in danger to where you might even get yourself killed and I know Demi would feel the same way how long are you going to be stationed over there.?"
"For a month or 2 months they gave me a date they said around September 22 or October 3rd a day before Jeremy's 3rd birthday and I know Jen but I won't get myself into any trouble the base where I'm going to be staying at is a secured base away from the actual war zone but close enough to the villages that need our help...Jen I know what I have to do I have to go I don't have a choice..." I said
"You're really brave you know that right.? and I won't tell Demi or the other girls when are you planning on telling Demi or the other girls about this.?" she said
"When the time is right I'll let her know and of course you guys if all goes well tomorrow with her family then maybe I'll tell her then but right now Demi can never know about it."
"My lips are sealed." Said Jen
"Thanks Jen well go to sleep then you're probably tierd as hell."
"Not really I'm watching Magic Mike right now." she said laughing
I laugh too and say
"What is it with you and Channing Tatum Jen.?"
"Don't blame me for liking him haven't you seen his body I mean damn." she said
"Okay well you enjoy that I'm going to bed see you Monday goodnight." I said
"Night." she said
I hang up and walk upstairs again and fall asleep next to Demi I wrap my arms around her and held her close I knew when I leave in August I'm going to have a hard time sleeping without her next to me but now that I know I'm going to save people far away I knew I was doing it for her because she has helped me in so many ways and I want to help more people like she did to me.
*The Next Day*
I wake up with Demi still on my chest I smile and kiss her forehead I smile at her and I hear the door open a little I look up and it was Jeremy.
"Momma! Mommy wake up! wake up! time for breakfast." he says
he climbs on the bed and she lays in between Demi and I, Demi wakes up and laughs and says
"Woah! Hey good morning babyboy someone's excited this morning." she says
"C'mon baby let's go get some food and we can play in the backyard for a bit."
"Yay playtime!" he says he grabs our arms Demi and I laugh and walked downstairs we made breakfast and talked for a bit and I asked Demi
"So what time are your parent's coming today.?"
"Around the afternoon maybe around 2 or 3." she said
"Cool I can't wait to see them again." I said
"Me neither but I'm a little nervous." she said
"Why.? is it about them finding out about Jeremy and Wilmer.?" I said she nods her head and I said
"Look no matter what they're always going to love you okay.? especially Jeremy this is their first grandson they're going to be thrilled to meet him." I said
"Thanks baby." she said with a smile we kissed gently and pulled away and say says
"Alright timed to get cleaned up bath time!" Demi yelled
"NO!" yelled Jeremy
"C'mon Jeremy it's not bath time it's pool time we have a pool just for you with toys and everything don't you wanna swim.?" I said
"Okay!" he said
"I can't believe you just lied to him." Demi said with a small giggle
"What I didn't technically lie to him it is a pool for babies to swim,play and to have fun" I said while laughing
I laugh and we finally got Jeremy in the bathtub he wasn't too thrilled at first but after he had his toys in there he didn't want to get out. Alex ended up bribing him with Ice cream and he smiled and held his arms out we wrapped him in his towel and got him dressed, then after Alex and I take a shower we get ready and we all decided to go to the back yard and play with Jeremy's clubhouse we all ran around the yard laughing our heads off and we hear to doorbell ring
"That must be them." Alex said
"Yeah I'll answer it babe." I said
I run in the house and I open the door and when I open I got hugged by my little sister Maddie
"Hey babygirl! I missed you.!"
"I missed you too Demi!" she said she looks around and she says
"Hey where's Alex.?" she said I smile and said
"She's in the backyard you can go see her if you'd like." I said
"Cool I'll be right back!" she said before she runs off
"Hey sweetie!" my parent's said
"Hey mom and dad I missed you guys!" I said
"We missed you too we brought some food for dinner later." My mom said
"Cool can't wait you guys can sit in the living room while we get everything set up." I said
"Don't forget about your older sister!." Dallas said
"How could I get in here." I said
We all walked in the living room and I see Maddie in the backyard playing with Alex and Jeremy then I remembered I had to tell my family the truth about Jeremy. I see Alex and Maddie walking back in the house Maddie was carrying Jeremy and when they walked in Jeremy saw my family and he buried his head on Maddie's shoulder
"Aww he's so cute!" said Dallas
"He looks a lot like Demi." My dad says
"He does look a lot like you baby sis but he's so cute!" Dallas says
"He's such a cutie is he your brother Alex.?" My mom said
"Actually no...." I said
"Oh well who is he.?" My mom said
"He's...he's my son" I said Dallas eyes widened and so does my dad my mom looked shocked I look over at Maddie and she kept holding onto Jeremy and she smiles at me I took it as she knew already and that Alex already told her when they were outside
"What do you mean he's your son.? he's at least 2 years old like adoption or something.?" my mom said
"No biological he's my own..I had him when I was...when I was 18" I said with my voice shaking
"Who.?" my mom said clearly upset
"Who what.?" I said I knew she was going to ask me who the father was and I knew if my parents knew they would kill Wilmer
"Who's the father Demi.?" she said
"Wilmer...." I said my dad's eyes widened he looked like he was ready to kill Wilmer
"Maddie can you take Jeremy outside please you guys can play and you can get to know him better." I said she smiles and says
"Sure I love spending time with my adorable nephew I love you Jeremy." she said
"Love you too M-maddie." he said with a small stutter
"Aww!" I heard Dallas say I look over and my dad is smiling
once they left I expected the worst from my mom and I was kinda right
"How did it happen and why didn't you tell us in the first place Demetria!" she said
"It was back in college I was at a party and I had too much to drink and Wilmer was there with me and he was my best friend when he found out he didn't leave he stayed with me but we knew Jeremy would have a better life if he was given to a adoption agency I never told you because I thought you would all hate me I'm sorry..." I said with tears in my eyes
"Demi we could never hate you I'm a little disappointed that you didn't tell us this earlier but now that you have everything settled with you and Alex he seems really happy here but I need to ask you something.?" My mom said
"Yeah.?" I said
"Does Wilmer know Jeremy is here.?" she said
"Yeah he spent a few minutes with him the other day." I said
"Well it's a good thing he's in his life but be careful he doesn't try anything"
"I will." I said
right when we were done talking Maddie comes back inside with Jeremy and my mom smiles and says
"Hey Jeremy I'm your grandma and this is your Grandpa Eddie and your auntie Dallas." she said
"Hi." Jeremy said
"C'mon babyboy give your cool auntie a hug." said Dallas he smiles and runs to Maddie instead and we all laugh at Dallas's reaction and Maddie says
"Sorry sis I'm his cool auntie." she said laughing Dallas gives her a playful glare and Jeremy walks up to Dallas and climbs on her lap and kisses her cheek and says
"I love you too." he says we all smile and my mom and dad get up and my dad says
"C'mon let's get these steaks on the grill and have ourselves a old fashion Texas barbecue and while the food is grilling I can play some Football with my favorite Grandson" he said carrying Jeremy on his shoulders.
"C'mon Granpa let's go." he said as he grabs a hold of my dads hair and my dad carries him to the back yard
"Dallas aren't you coming.?" I said
"In a minute that car ride was exhausting I'm gonna watch T.v and I'll be out when the food is ready." she said
"Alright have fun Dallas." Said Alex
We walk out and see my dad and Jeremy running all over the yard I smile and hold onto Alex's hand as we watch them have the time of their lives.
Dallas's POV
As I walk over to the big couch I jump on it and I heard a crumble sound coming from under the cushion I get up and I move the cushion to find a letter I open it up and read what was inside it was for Alex from the U.S Army. I read it and my heart dropped when I realized Alex was leaving to a war zone I was so focused on the letter I didn't realize that Demi had walked in the living room.
"Dallas what's that.?" Demi said
My heart raced and she walked up to me and sat right next to me and said
"Dallas what is it please tell me.?"
I couldn't just tell her that her fiance is leaving to a war zone she saw it in my eyes and I hid the letter and I was debating if I should tell her or not
"Demi I need to tell you something.?" I said
Her eyes widened and her face showed she was worried I took a deep breath and I said
"It's about Alex..."
Her eyes widened and she held my hand I knew this next part was going to be hard."
