~Your P.O.V~
I blankly stared at my math homework. Close to crying, I shoved all my work off my desk.
"I can't do this anymore!" I cried out to myself. Fear and relief were clashing inside me. Relief of being in my room, but fear of someone arriving- anyone showing up wether that'd be to kill me or check on me. Frankly, at this point I may not fight a killer. Death had been consuming my thoughts once again.
I've always stressed over school work to the point of a break down and exhaustion, and I stupidly applied for college.
I rested my head on my desk, in my arms, giving up. I tensed at the feeling of an icy cold hand resting on my back. For all I knew it was one of the dark creatures that lurked in my mind.
"(Y/n), why don't you take a break?" A calming voice said. I could picture a really attractive man owning that voice, but the fact that someone spoke caused me to jump and scream. Another icy hand quickly made it's presence on me, but this one was to muffle my scream.
"Shhh shhh shh," the voice tried to soothe, "I came to make sure you relax. You shouldn't keep doing this to yourself, (Y/n)."
Unable to speak I turned my head slightly to look at the intruder. It was a pale man with curly black hair, dull green eyes, and some stubble. He finally released me and so I asked, "Who- Who are you?"
"Hades, god of death," he replied bluntly.
A god? Visiting me?? This doesn't make since unless I'm dead or dreaming. Speechless, I merely stared at him in awe and horror.
"I don't want you to hurt yourself over pointless work," he began. "Tell me, what's causing so much distress?"
It took me a moment to find my voice. "I- I- um..." I stammered out. "So many people expect me to do so well in school, get straight A's, and expect more than I can do and be that way forever. Like how everybody expects you to never be happy and always watch over the dead." The words just spilled out of my mouth as if I had no control over my own word.
I quickly drew a fist to my head and hit my forehead as I began to say, "Stu-!" But Hades caught my arm and shushed me.
"You're exhausted. I am too. Just take it easy on yourself, and I'll be there when you need me," He explained in such a soothing manner.
I stared at him for a moment, tears threatening to fall. But he cupped my cheeks and wiped then away. "Don't cry, dear, it'll be okay," he almost frantically claimed. By then I couldn't contain myself. I clung to him and buried my face in his chest, unable to hold back my tears.
I must have fallen asleep, because the next thing I knew I was waking up in my bed.
