THE BEGINNING OF THE SEARCH
Harry was practically jumping up and down. He was rocking back and forth on the balls of his feet. Currently, he was in the car with his mum and his sister, who were having some kind of rushed, excited discussion about something. He'd stopped listening after a while, and had instead focused on the view out of the window.
Ellie was there somewhere! Within all those people, there was one that he loved enough to fly halfway around the world for. He felt a hand on his knee, and he looked up to see his mum smiling at him. He smiled back, somewhat halfheartedly.
Yes, he was so close to finding her, but he couldn't help but feel slightly daunted by the fact that he was trying to find one person in a city of four million. He felt his phone buzz three times in quick succession, but thought nothing of it. He hadn't noticed that Gemma and his mum had stopped talking, but at some point they had. The silence was deafening.
Gemma was scrolling through something on her phone, her eyebrows scrunched up in concern. It was only when he felt his phone buzz a fourth time, and was about to check it, that she spoke up.
"Harry, we might have a problem with finding Ellie in Sydney." Harry shook his head and continued trying to work his phone out of his pocket. He really shouldn't have sat at this angle.
"Gem, we'll start at the uni, see if anyone knows her, and keep working from there. It's not that tough." Harry was saying it more to convince himself than her. He finally managed to get his phone out of his pocket, and as soon as he turned on the screen, anything Gemma said next went completely over his head.
Amelia : harry, ellie's not in sydney (7:45 AM)
Amelia : she's in adelaide (7:45 AM)
Amelia : she just posted a picture with her cousin (7:45 AM)

"She's not in Sydney..." He mumbled to himself. "Gemma, Ellie's not in Sydney." Gemma didn't seem shocked by that information at all. She just blinked once, shocked.
"That's literally what I just said. Some news account got a picture of her at Sydney airport." Oh. So that's what she meant about having a problem with finding her. "But if you'd actually been listening, I have an idea of what we can do."

Basically, I'm in Sydney, because I found out that Ellie was still in love with me (honestly, wasn't very hard) after the breakup, and I've flown halfway around the world with my family (it was easier to buy them tickets than to have them hide in my suitcase) to try and get her back. Basically we've arrived and now she's in Adelaide with you and the rest of your family, and Gemma came up with the idea of texting you because she figures you're the one who's most likely to help
