"First, I will introduce you to Dimitri." I stood. "Dimitri is my boyfriend. Dimitri, meet Sam. Sam is my brother, pretty much. We've known each other since pre-school."
The boys shook hands.
"Okay. That answered one of my questions. On to the next one. Where the hell have you been?"
"I was in Missoula at a private academy. St. Vladimir's. And I'm not exactly sure why we had to move. But, Sammy. There was a terrible accident. My mother was killed in it." A tear streaked down my cheek, which I hastily wiped away.
Sam leaned forward and hugged me tight.
"Thanks Sammy." I paused, then spoke again. "So, what do you want to do?"
He shrugged, then answered. "Have you been calling anyone? I mean, literally everyone has been asking about you!"
I shook my head. "No phones at the academy. But since there is school tomorrow, I will go to school. Resume my old schedule, surprise everyone."
He laughed quietly. "Good idea." Sam thought for a moment. "Do you have a place to stay at all?"
I shrugged. "We'll find a hotel.
It was Sam's turn to shake his head. "No. You guys can stay in my guest room. Mom wouldn't mind. Especially for you Alice."
I smiled. "Thanks Sammy."
He looked around. "Where's your luggage?" He asked.
"We didn't bring any." I gestured to my purse. "Just this, which pretty much has everything I need."
"Okay... but you'll probably want new school clothes."
I looked at Dimitri. "We're going shopping!!!"
