10:46 AM

As Skylar sipped her coffee she pulled out her phone, quickly typing Luke's name into the search bar. She had wanted to Google him as soon as she figured out he was famous, just to see what exactly he was famous for. As the screen loaded it was immediately filled with various pictures of Luke and three other boys, the same boys that were at the airport earlier.

They were in a band, apparently, called 5 Seconds of Summer. Without even knowing the members personally, something told Skylar that the boy with red and black hair named the band. It was a wild guess, but it seemed logical. They were really famous, or at least that's what Skylar had gathered from the thousands of news articles written about them. Skylar didn't want to pry too much, so she didn't read the articles that were directly about Luke.

Skylar tried to be as discreet as she could as she flicked through pictures of Luke and his other bandmates, laughing softly at a few of them. Luke sure knew how to pull some weird faces. But the pictures also showed that he was a huge partier, and there was even a shot of him throwing up outside of a club. Skylar really could have gone her whole life without seeing that.

"What are you laughing at, Sky?" Luke asked from across the table. Skylar rolled her eyes and set her phone down, sliding it towards Luke. His face got red at the sight of the picture in front of him, showing him making an extremely strange face.

"Oh, God." Luke groaned. "You Googled me?"

"I had to." Skylar shrugged.

"So did you read up on all of my drug problems yet?" Luke asked sarcastically, frowning. Skylar shook her head. She assumed that he didn't really have a big problem with drugs, and that's why he seemed so upset about it. Media did tend to over exaggerate those types of things.

"I didn't, actually." Skylar said. "I don't want to hear about it, anyway."

"You don't? That's what everyone wants to hear about." Luke took a sip of his coffee.

"No really. Tell me about your band." Skylar said instead. She was choosing to try and find some good qualities about Luke, rather than focus on all of his bad choices.

"Well, I'm the lead singer but I also play guitar. Cal plays the bass, Mike plays guitar with me, and Ash is on the drums." Luke explained bluntly. His eyes lit up when he spoke about his bandmates, and Skylar could tell that he really liked them.

"Calum, Michael and Ashton?" Skylar asked, having read their names a few minutes before. She sighed at the fact that Luke had to have a nickname for everyone he'd ever met.

"Yeah, them." Luke nodded. "Did you read anything about them kicking me out of the band?"

"They kicked you out?" Skylar scoffed. She didn't see why they would want to kick Luke out of the band, he was their frontman, they couldn't go anywhere without Luke.

"Indirectly, they did. They sent me back home because I can't handle myself. I get drunk and party too much, they're sick of it." Luke said, smiling to himself. It looked as though he was trying to seem like he was proud of himself for this, but he really wasn't. He was ashamed and Skylar could see right through him.

"They're probably just looking out for you, they don't want you to get hurt." Skylar shrugged. She scrolled through her phone again until she came to a picture of all the boys together. "Tell me who's who."

"That's Calum, I've known him for forever," Luke said, pointing to the boy with dark hair. "There's Ashton, he's the oldest," He moved his finger so it was over the boy standing in the middle of all of them, with a black fedora on and drumsticks in his hands. Luke moved his finger one final time, coming to the boy with colorful hair. "And here's Michael. He's dyed his hair, like, twenty times."

"He's hot." Skylar said, "Really hot."

"He's not as good in bed as I am." Luke said. He grabbed Skylar's phone from her and started to look through the pictures, smirking to himself.

"Really? Because he looks like he has a really big - " Skylar began to say, but was cut off by Luke. She didn't really think that, but she knew that Luke would get upset if she said something like that. The last thing he wanted to hear was that a girl preferred one of his best friends over him.

"Not as big as mine!" Luke yelled, making Skylar laugh. She covered her mouth up with her hands, not wanting to bring any attention to them from people passing by.

"Hey, what time did that guy say the plane was coming in tomorrow?" Luke asked once Skylar had calmed down a little.

"It says..." Skylar trailed off as she pulled the piece of paper out of her pocket. Marcus had printed one off for each of them before Luke started to threaten him. "The plane takes off at 8:50 AM tomorrow."

"So we're stuck here until then?" Luke asked, rolling his eyes.

"I mean, it's not like we can go anywhere, right?" Skylar shrugged. There really wasn't anywhere to go, though. They were in a small town about an hour and a half outside of L.A, there wasn't much to do there.

"I'll Google somewhere to go a little later, maybe there's a club or a bar we can get into." Luke mumbled, looking down at his phone once more.

"I doubt it." Skylar muttered to herself. She brought her hand up to her mouth again and began biting at her nails while staring off into space, totally oblivious to Luke.

"Why do you bite your nails like that?" Luke asked, grabbing Skylar's hand and holding it close to his face.

"It's a nervous habit. I've been doing it since I was 14." Skylar said, bringing her hand back. She started biting her nails when her parents told her they were getting a divorce and had been doing it ever since. She couldn't stop it now, and Skylar had tried everything.

"You're not going to have anything to scratch my back with later." Luke smirked back at her. He turned and scratched his own back, probably having scratches there already.

"I think they could still do some damage." Skylar said while examining her nails, not taking the time to think about what she had just said.

"You totally just agreed to banging me later tonight, Sky." Luke laughed.

"No I didn't." Skylar protested. The last thing she wanted to do was have sex with Luke, even if he was being nicer to her.

"Yes you did, and I'm not going to forget it." Luke grinned, taking his lip ring in between his teeth.

"No."

"Yes."

"No."

"Come on, I'm not going to hurt you." Luke pouted.

"Yes you will." Skylar said, crossing her arms over her chest. She wasn't talking about Luke hurting her physically, because in that respect she actually did trust that he wouldn't hurt her. She was speaking mentally.

Virginity was a pretty big thing, and Skylar didn't want to give hers away to someone like Luke. She didn't want to have to be stuck with the memory that she let an asshole like Luke Hemmings be the first person to ever have sex with her. Besides, she was never going to see him again. Why would Skylar give up something so special to someone she was only going to know for a few more hours?

"I wouldn't hurt you, Sky, what are you talking about?" Luke asked. He wore a puzzled expression on his face, his eyebrows knit together.

"How do you think I'm going to feel when the guy I lose my virginity to never speaks to me again?" Skylar blurted out. She hadn't expected to actually say that, it was more something that she had planned on keeping in her head. She didn't want Luke to know that she would actually feel sad if he did something like that to her.

"You know, I've never thought of that before." Luke said quietly.

"Of course you haven't, you only think about yourself." Skylar took another sip of her coffee and finished it off before standing up to throw it away.

"Hey, Sky, are you hungry? I think I'm going to buy something to eat." Luke stood up as well when Skylar came back to the table to grab her backpack, putting it on her shoulders again.

"No, I'm not. And thanks for buying me the coffee and trying to help with my plane situation, but I think we should part ways here." Skylar said. She was extremely bipolar when it came to things like this, such as spending time with people. All morning she had been on and off about hanging out with Luke, but she felt that now she had finally made her decision.

Skylar was going to go stake out a place in the terminal and sit there for the next however many hours and focus on something other than Luke for once. She didn't want to bother him anymore and she also didn't want him to bother her. The two of them just couldn't seem to get along with each other for more than a few minutes at a time and Skylar was getting sick of it.

"Whoa, whoa, Sky. Slow down a little." Luke called after Skylar, who had begun to talk away from him.

"Can you just leave me alone for a while, please?" Skylar asked, whipping around to face Luke. "I really appreciate you being so nice to me for the past hour or so but I think that it's time that we end this."

"Sky, baby, what's wrong?" Luke gripped Skylar's arm and took a step closer, holding onto her while she tried hard not to look up at him.

"Don't call me Sky." Skylar demanded. She was sick of telling Luke not to call her that, she only liked hearing it from her mother.

"Baby, just tell me - "

"Don't call me baby either." She snapped, pulling away from Luke. "It was nice meeting you, Luke. Goodbye."

Skylar turned away and left Luke after that, heading straight for the bathrooms where she could hopefully find some peace for a moment before going back out to the terminals to wait. Luke didn't follow after her, and part of Skylar was happy, she didn't need him anymore. But part of her wished he had chased her down, and she couldn't deny that.
