This was requested to be a female reader so here we are. I hope you like it. I think you meant for Erza and the reader to be in a relationship, but this idea came to me and I thought I would write this cuz it seemed good at the time. Sorry?

"Erza-San?" Wendy asked Erza as she watched the scarlet haired girl, who was staring at the starlit sky. "Is something the matter?"
"No, nothing's wrong. I was just thinking" Erza told Wendy, smiling at her, turning away from the window of the inn.
"Of what? If you don't mind telling me"
"I don't mind" Erza said, glancing back to the window. "I was just thinking about an old friend. She left on a decade quest a few months before you joined"
"Wow, she must have been really powerful" Wendy said, looking at Erza, remembering what a decade quest meant.
"She was. An even better mage than me" Erza admitted. "It's been at least seven years. I wonder how she's doing"
"I'm sure she's doing well" Wendy said, trying to be of comfort to Erza, who was clearly worried.
"Yeah, I'm sure she'll be the same as always." Erza nodded. "I guess I'll have to wait a while to find out. Let's go back to sleep, we have a big day ahead of us."
"Alright"
Erza closed the curtains and followed Wendy to the bed. Little did Erza know, that she was right. Her best friend was indeed still the same as ever, in more ways than one.
The next day, on the third day of the Grand Magic Games, a figure stood at the top of the arena. Her presence was concealed and she wore a cloak that covered her entire outfit underneath, the hood covering most of her face.
She watched as Erza defeated all of the monsters in the Pandemonium. A smile appeared on her face as she clapped along with the rest of the crowd.
Suddenly, Mavis looked up, feeling someone's eye on her. Mavis looked at the hooded figure, confused at how they saw her. Makarov also looked up and spotted the hooded figure too.
The hooded figure smiled from under her hood and raised her right hand, pointing her index and thumb out. The Fairy Tail hand sign.
But she disappeared a few moments after that, leaving them confused.
The girl reappeared again next to two other girls, startling them slightly.
"[Name]! At least give us a warning before appearing so suddenly" Meredy said after the girl pulled off the hood, revealing [Hair Colour] hair and [Eye Colour] eyes.
"Sorry, I came to check if you felt anything" [Name] said, not sitting down.
"No, nothing yet. We'll remain on the lookout as always" Ultear said, glancing back to the crystal ball.
"Alright, I'll go back to the arena then" [Name] said, preparing to pull on her hood.
"Did you find out anything for your condition?" Meredy asked, making [Name] freeze in her tracks.
"Only one thing" [Name] whispered.
"That's great! What is it?" Meredy asked brightly, not noticing the look in her eyes.
"Meredy... I don't thi--" Ultear tried to stop her.
"It's permanent. This body won't age" [Name] whispered, making sure that her face was covered. "My time has stopped. It's impossible for me to continue to stay by Erza's side"
With that, she disappeared.
Years ago, when she first fought the beast that she was meant to kill, it took her by surprise. She was hit by an attack. At first, she didn't think much of it, but over time, she realised what the beast was.
One that controlled time. With that single attack, her life was cursed. She couldn't age, her body wouldn't grow and nor did it get injured.
Two years ago, she killed it. But the curse didn't lift and she was stuck in the body of a 19 year old. It was impossible to reverse or get rid of it.

A few weeks later, after the disaster that happened at the Grand Magic Games, Fairy Tail was finally back to normal again. Least that's what it seemed.
Suddenly, the doors of the guild opened and a figure stopped in the centre. The entire guild stopped to look at who it was.
[Name] smiled, pulling off her hood to reveal who she was.
"Hey. I'm back!" She called and was instantly crowded by the older members.
She spotted Erza in the crowd and instantly hugged her, to which Erza hugged back, still shocked.
"[N-Name]? Is this really you?" She asked as [Name] buried her head in Erza's shoulder.
"Yup! I finished the job!" [Name] grinned, pulling back. The grin that hid the sadness which she felt, knowing that it was impossible for her to be with Erza.
It didn't matter how she felt for Erza. Because she could never be with Erza. If Erza did miraculously return her feelings, Erza would grow up while [Name] will not.
"[Name], I want to talk to you about the job you took" Makarov told her.
"Of course Master!" [Name] smiled, walking to the short man. She turned back to Erza. "I'll catch up with you later"
"I'll be waiting" Erza smiled to her.
[Name] walked into his office and they came out a few moments later, with Makarov knowing what happened. He promised to never tell anyone of what happened.
A party was thrown for [Name] that night to welcome her coming back from a decade quest so successfully. But everyone became drunk halfway through the night and [Name] escaped to the roof with Erza.
She told Erza everything about the job. Everything but the fact that she was cursed with immortal life.
"Hey Erza, promise me something" [Name] suddenly spoke out of nowhere.
"What is it?"
"Promise me that we'll always be best friends. No matter what happens" [Name] said, uncharacteristically serious.
"Of course, didn't we already establish that?" Erza asked, confused.
[Name] smiled, but her eyes showed sadness. Something that Erza did not see because she was looking forward. At the shining stars in the bright night sky.
"I just wanted to make sure" [Name] said, leaning her head on Erza's shoulder. She reached for Erza's hand, holding it tight. She was afraid of the future.
It's impossible for them to be together forever. If Erza remained only her best friend then the pain in the future will be less.
[Name] can't ever be together with Erza.
First, because her love is unrequited. And second because the pain will only be much more intense when Erza eventually leaves this world.
[Name] will tell Erza, and everyone else, about what happened eventually. When she is ready to face the truth herself.
[Name] still fears the future. She doesn't want to accept the fact that she can't die.
Because when Erza and everyone else disappears, it'll be impossible for [Name] to ever see them again. It'll be impossible for [Name] to join the in the afterlife.
Impossible. Just impossible.
[Name] clutched Erza's hand tighter out of fear as she closed her eyes. Erza responded by leaning her own head on [Name], knowing that something was bothering her.
But she'll wait until [Name] is ready to tell her.
