『 Oblivious and Overprotective 』
After over two years of dating, much to Gray's dismay and Mira's delight, it seemed that the overprotective side of Gray still did not dim the slightest bit.
It seemed to become even more common for Gray and Natsu to fight and bicker. [Name] was often the one to separate the two, since they would listen to almost no one else.
Well... Erza and Mira don't truely count.
Today was just an ordinary day, which meant that Gray and Natsu were fighting over [Name] again, among other things.
"You Ice Perv! You're just jealous because [Name] likes me more"
"I'm her brother, she obviously would chose family over you Fire Breath!"
[Name] sighed, sitting at the bar while sipping on her drink. Frustrated, she ran a hand through her hair.
"Something the matter [Name]?" Mira asked, appearing in front of the girl as she attempted to block out the bickering of the two boys.
[Name] didn't directly reply and only pointed to the two boys who were destroying the part of the guild that they were in. Mira smiled at the sight.
"They sure are unique"
"That is too true" [Name] smiled slightly, looking back at them.
"How long have you two been dating?"
"Two years, I thought that you would know that?" [Name] asked, expressing her confusion.
"You know, it's the ideal time for proposal, what do you say?" Mira asked, seemingly innocently wiping a glass clean.
"It frightens me. I think it's still too early" [Name] said twirling the straw of her drink.
"Do you?" Mira asked, looking at her out the corner her eye. An almost disappointed gaze.
Before [Name] could ask why Mira would bring up such a subject, a warm arm swung around her shoulder. She could see locks of pink hair.
"Come on [Name], lets go to the cafe you wanted to go to last time"
[Name] could almost hear the smile on Natsu's face. She placed her empty glass on the counter.
"Thanks Mira, I'll see you later"
"Have fun!!" Mira waved, smiling widely. She, for some reason seemed even more excited and ecstatic than usual to [Name].
[Name] tilted her head in confusion but followed Natsu out of the door anyway, watching as Gray laid on the floor, looking as though he was badly beaten up.
Natsu's left arm remained around her shoulders as they walked to the cafe. His right hand stayed in his pocket the whole time, as though something important was there.

[Name] gazed out the window, watching as children ran around, chasing each other without a care in the world. Natsu watched her as she did, continuing to eat his cake.
"Are you going to eat that?" he asked after finishing his cake, rubbing the crumbs from his mouth with his sleeve.
"Hey! This is mine, you don't get to eat it" [Name] took the sundae, pulling it towards her and out of Natsu's reach.
She glanced one look at the pout on Natsu's face and sighed, holding up the spoon for him.
"One bite" she said as Natsu grinned, taking the spoon.
[Name] watched him fondly, propping her chin up on her arm. She then snatched the spoon from him when he finished with the scoop, continuing to eat the sundae herself.
"How do you always win against Gray when it comes down to me?" [Name] asked curiously.
"Dunno what you mean" Natsu looked glanced away, looking down to his right as he clutched a small black box in his pocket.
"Don't lie. You and Gray can never beat each other, but when I become the reason for the fight, Gray always ends up on the floor"
"That's because I'm stronger than Gray" Natsu bluffed, grinning as he did.
"Uh huh" [Name] nodded, unconvinced. "You know, it's like you've become children again"
"Is it?"
"Yup" [Name] confirmed, pointing to the children that were play fighting outside. "Do you see those kids? You're like them"
"I am not!"
"Definitely" [Name] smiled, watching as the kids butted heads against one another. They really were like Gray and Natsu, minus the magic. "You know, Mira mentioned something odd to me today"
"What is it?" Natsu asked, stealing some of her sundae when [Name] wasn't looking.
"Mira asked me about whether I think its a suitable time for proposal"
Upon hearing those words, Natsu choked, glancing at [Name]. Did Mira tell her?
"Water"
"What?" Natsu tried to ask, but his words were unintelligible.
"Drink the water" [Name] said, passing it to him. He took it thankfully, gulping it down. "Geesh, never thought that your reaction would be this big"
"I just choked, that's all" Natsu defended, eyes flickering to the box in his right hand, which was shaking slightly out of nervousness.
"Oh, so you admit to stealing my sundae? Natsu Dragneel, do you have a death wish or something?" [Name] asked, smiling innocently even though her eyes had a glint of anger. Or annoyance.
She sighed and took another bite of her sundae, immediately calming down.
"So what do you think of proposing?" [Name] asked, acting no different to her usual behaviour, which made it hard for Natsu to decide whether to ask her on the spot.
"I dunno, what do you think?" Natsu asked back, nervous and hopeful. He is going to do it as soon as she answers. Least, that was the plan in his mind.
[Name] stalled for a while, looking outside once more. Natsu stayed unnaturally silent, patiently waiting for the girl's answer. He flipped open the box under the table and out of [Name]'s sight, revealing the beautiful ring that he had picked with Mira's help. He hoped that she would say yes.
Ever since the two started dating, it was quite plain to anyone that Natsu became less and less oblivious. Especially for [Name].
He would often be able to read her like a book. But for some reason, most likely because of the nerves and excitement, he just couldn't today.
He immediately closed the box when [Name] looked back to him. [Eye Colour] eyes meeting onyx eyes.
"It's a bit early for me. We're still quite young" [Name] stated, making Natsu look at her in slight surprise. "I'm kind of scared actually. I know someone, she married at a young age. Didn't go well. Didn't go well at all"
"Is that the only reason?" Natsu asked, curious.
"Yes, it's rather silly isn't it?" [Name] asked, looking away.
"N-No. I think the same!" Natsu hurriedly said, making [Name] smile again. Seeing her smile, made the slight disappointment he felt go away.
"Really? You're the best" [Name] said brightly, leaning over the table to kiss his cheek. The nervousness Natsu felt earlier disappeared as he went back t his natural, carefree behaviour.
Their topic of conversation changed to be of the recent job that they did together with the whole team. As [Name] talked on, the small box that held the beautiful ring disappeared from Natsu's hand.
It probably won't be seen in a while.
Natsu always remembers what [Name] says. No matter what.
The ring can wait in the dark until she's ready.
