Alex's POV
I wake up with a killer headache and I look around and I'm in my bed and I thought to myself
"Who was with me last night and how did I get back here.?"
I look over to my phone and I see that it's 6:30 am I get up and make myself some breakfast and I get ready to go to school since we're seniors we have a lot of days off especially since graduation is coming up. I hear my phone ring and I run towards it but I stop since my head still kept killing me I finally answer the phone
"Hello.?"
"Hey Alex It's Jennifer.
"Hey Jen what's up.?"
"I was wondering if you got the information on Jeremy I gave you.?"
"Yeah I did thank you so much I don't know what I would do without you." I said
"No problem I hope everything works out between you and Demi."
"Me too Jennifer hey do you still want me to pick you up later to go to school.?"
"Yeah we're picking up the girls and doing our usual run to starbucks right.?."
"Yeah we are I'll see you in a bit I gotta get ready see you later Jennifer."
"Okay see you later Alex love you."
"Love you too bye."
I hang up and I took a warm shower brushed my teeth and curled my hair then I got dressed and walked out the door I noticed my car was parked near the garage once I got in my car I noticed white scrape marks on the concrete I looked further and it stopped near the steps of my front porch
"Was I dragged out of my car.?" I thought to myself
I shook it off and turned on my car and backed out of the driveway and drove down the street luckily Jennifer lives really close to me so it wasn't a long drive as I was driving Demi kept popping inside my head all I remember was falling out of the backseat and saying " I love you too I'm sorry." I pull over near Jennifer's house and she comes down her porch steps she get's in my car and she hugs me and she looks in the back seat and says
"Hey where's Hailey you always pick her up then me how come she isn't here.?"
"I decided to pick her up last it's the best for the both of us if we didn't talk to each other for awhile."
"Why! did you guys fight.? You two never fight what happened.?!" she said
"Look things aren't great between us they haven't been since the other night we had when we were at your house for the movie night."
"Why what the hell happened between you two and tell me the truth!"
I bit my lip and stared at the road I had to be honest with Jennifer after all she's done for me and their all going to find out soon so I told her.
"When we were in the hospital when I lost my memory I told her if she knew who Demi was to me because Demi was the first one there when I woke up and I didn't remember who she was. She was quiet for a minute and said she barley knew her and that Demi and I were nothing but just neighbors and she leaned in and kissed me and I kissed her back then that night she came to my house and we went upstairs I was getting something and she kissed me again and it became intense she tried to...." I got cut off by Jennifer and she said
"She lied to you about Demi and tried to have sex with you what the fuck!?!"
"Yeah she did....but I pushed her off of me and said I couldn't do it. When we had the movie night I got my memory back when I found the video of me proposing to Demi that's when it all came back to me and.." again I was interrupted by Jennifer
"You ran off to go be with the one you love I remember we ran after you and you told Hailey that you loved Demi and that you should've been with her this entire time." she said
"I went over to Demi's and spent the night with her and in the morning and we heard a knock on the door I answered and it was Hailey and she told me that she loved me since junior year and she was going to tell me the day of our first race which happened to be the day I met Demi and she tried to kiss me but Demi pushed her off of me." I said
"Wait Demi punched Hailey.?!?" Jennifer said
"Not exactly she just slammed Hailey really hard on the porch." I said
"Wow....But Alex can I ask you something.?" Said Jennifer
"What is it Jen.?"
"Have you talked to Demi ever since she told you about Jeremey and Wilmer.?"
I bite my lip again and said
"No.....Not as much after everything I mean after everything that happened after being lied to by my best friend and her lying to me about Wilmer made me really upset and angry I still love her but I don't know what else to do anymore.
"Alex it's okay to feel this way after you've been bombarded with all of these things it's hard to take all of this in but you're strong and there's always going to be times in your life when you see nothing but darkness but there's a light at the end of the tunnel to get you through your worst and help you become your best no matter what I know you can get through this because I've seen you at your worst and you made it out stronger than before." she said
I smile and I hug her and say
"Thanks Jen I honestly don't know what I would do without you." I said
"Hey you helped me at my worst and taught me how to be the best I'll forever be grateful for that." she said
After our conversation we picked up Jolene and Perla and now it was time to pick up Hailey as we pulled up near her house she gets out of her house and greets all of us and when she get's in the back seat Jolene asks
"Hailey where did you get that bruise on your arm.?"
Jennifer and I look at each other and Hailey says
"I uhh fell on my porch clumsy me right.? aha" she said
I don't even look at Hailey but I can feel her eyes on me I drive down the street and park near Starbucks to do our everyday routine but I was nervous knowing in just 1 hour I would be face to face with Demi for the first time since she told me about her and Wilmer having a baby.
Demi's POV
I haven't spoken to Alex in a while and I'm a complete mess I knew I was going to see her today in first period and I knew it was going to be hard to hide what we were feeling for the both of us I get up from bed and get ready for work I go outside and I see that Alex's car is gone I sigh and I hear a car pull up and it was Wilmer
"Hey what are you doing here.?" I said
"I'm here to see if you wanted a ride to school since I'm going there anyway." he said
"Why are you going there for.?" I questioned
"Since the shooting they wanted non stop patrols to make sure it doesn't happen again." he said
"Oh yeah..." I said remembering that day it was horrible for all of us.
"So do you want a ride.?" Wilmer said
I shook my head and said
"Yeah please I'm so tired that I don't even feel like driving." I said with a small laugh
He smiles and he get's out and opens the car door for me I get in and he walks over and get's in and drives and he says
"How are you feeling.?"
"Like shit I love her Wilmer and I promised I'd never hurt her but I did and I feel horrible."
"Hey don't say that sh-" he said before I cut him off
"Wilmer I hurt her so bad that she relapsed into drinking I caused that to happen I feel fucking bad and I don't know what else to do." I said
"Demi don't blame yourself for that okay things happen okay Alex was in a tough position she didn't know what to do she CHOSE to drink don't blame yourself for her choosing that alternative to deal with her problems." he said
I thought about it hell if I was in her position i would've done the same I've done it before as we drive Wilmer goes in the drive thru at Starbucks and he orders the usual and I get the same thing I always get as we drive out I notice a car pull up and it was Alex's I see her get out and she opens the backseat and helps Jolene and Hailey get out and they all walk inside I tried to hold back the tears. We finally made it to the school and I got out and hugged Wilmer
"See you later." I said
"Bye Demi have a good day."
I smile and as soon as he leaves it drops I walk inside the halls and I hear someone call me name I turn around hoping it was Alex but it wasn't it was Principle Hobbs
"Excuse me Miss Lovato.?" said Mr.Hobbs
"Oh hey Mr Hobbs how's the arm doing.? and sure what is it." I said with a fake smile.
"Call me Andrew and it's doing better actually if it wasn't for Alex and Hailey putting pressure on it I probably would still be in the hospital." he said with a smile
I felt my heart race when he mentioned Alex but my blood boiled when he mentioned Hailey
"Well that's good that you're recovering well Andrew." I said
"Thank you I was meaning to ask you a favor if that's okay with you.?" he said
"Sure what is it.?" I said
"Well since the senior class is graduating soon the valedictorian says a speech and then has to perform a song with 4 other members and I choose the best group in Mrs Berry's music class luckily the Valedictorian is in that group and since you've had musical experience I was wondering if you can fill in for Mrs Berry since she is on maternity leave and if you can help them with their song they're not a hassle and I quote in Mrs Berry's words "They have a powerful voice range that the school has ever seen ." The school is willing to pay you extra for working overtime and you'll get credit at the ceremony."
I thought about and I decided to say yes it'll give me something to deal with to help me with everything that's going on and hey I'll get a chance to meet new students so I said
"Sure I'll do it."
"Great! thank you Miss Lovato you can meet them today in the music room during 6th period they'll all be there." He said
"I'll look forward." I said with a small smile
"Thank you again Miss Lovato I'll see you around." he said
"Call me Demi Andrew and me too bye." I said
He smiles at me and waves and heads back into his office I walk inside my classroom and I set my stuff down I sit down on my desk I look over and I see a picture of Alex and I on the Ferris wheel I feel the tears coming into my eyes but i quickly wipe my tears as I heard the bell ring and I'm hoping today is the day Alex and I will finally be together again.
