Thank you guys so much for the love you've given so far! I cannot wait to see where this story takes us! So, may I introduce, Miss Tris McDowell! ^^^ isn't she gorgeous?! Anyways, without further ado, I give you glorious people Chapter Three.

Warning: not edited.

Sin took the seat next to me while his friends filled in the other two vacant spots. I gaped at him.

What in the hell is he doing? I just want to eat my lunch in peace without his annoying, suffocating presence. Is that too much to ask?

"So how have you been?" Sin smirked.

I guess it is.

I pursed my lips tightly, "It's been great since you've been gone." I replied honestly. "Now can you leave again so I can enjoy the rest of my life and lunch?"

He chuckled, "You carry a lot of hostility around in that little body of yours, don't you?"

He pointed his gaze to Tris who kept looking between Sin and I.

"Is she always like this?" He gestured to me.

She shook her head briskly and then turned to make conversation with the other two.

"You're gonna see a lot more hostility in a minute of you don't leave and take your pack mules with you," I threatened.

"Ooo violent, I like it," he replied cockily.

"Ooo cocky, I hate it," I retorted.

I pushed my food around on my plate and patiently waited for him to get up and leave. When he made no sign he was leaving I sighed and and slapped my hand on the table.

"Why can you not just take the hint and leave?!"

He chewed the food in his mouth and smirked, "Can old friends not have a decent conversation?"

Old friends? Last I checked, he hated me and I hated him just as much, if not more.

"Yes, 'old friends' can. But last I checked we're not old friends. Last I checked, you hated me and I, you."

"Hate is a strong word."

"Yes, and it describes us perfectly."

He sighed, "I don't hate you. Look, I'm sorry about the way I treated you when we were kids. I was a kid and I did stupid stuff for attention. No big deal." He shrugged nonchalantly as he picked his sandwich back up.

No. Big. Deal? Was he joking right now? Did I fall down a rabbit hole and not realize? He literally took the fun out of most of my childhood, so he could get a little attention. Why, I oughta...

Before my mind could stop it, my hand reached out on its own and shoved his sandwich in his face.

Time slowed down and my eyes widened as I realize the full extent of what I had just done. Oh dear Lord baby Jesus. I am dead.

His head slowly lifted to meet my eyes.

Everything and everyone was silent around us, waiting on edge to see what would happen.

Sin may have just came back, but everyone still knew to stay clear of him and his standoffish ways. He was the ultimate bad boy of our town and probably the most dangerous. He had been gone for a little over two years, getting sent away due to his behavior. Rumors said that he was sent to prison for murder, others said he dropped out of school, moved out of state and changed his name because he was wanted by the FBI.

With the way he was looking at me right now, I wouldn't put it past him to murder me right now.

But it was hard to look at him and contain my laughter. A piece of lettuce was stuck to one side if his face, mayonnaise and mustard was smeared on his mouth and dripping and a pickle was sliding down his forehead.

My lungs couldn't handle the lack of oxygen and I sputtered out a loud laugh. It echoed around the silent cafeteria and fell on the deaf ears of students.

My laughter was suddenly brought to a halt when I felt something thick and slimy hit my head and slowly began trickling down.

Sin's booming laugh was heard and he stuttered to make a sentence.

"I-I sh-should call you p-puddin'!" Sin said through spurts of laughter.

I looked down and saw Tris sliding me a milk carton. An evil smirk found my lips as I held it above his head.

"How about you not call me at all," I said. I dumped the contents of the carton slowly over his head, making him still and his contagious laughter stop.

"FOOD FIGHT!" Clay echoed through the silent cafeteria.

Everyone stood up with different kinds of food in their hands and began throwing it everywhere. There were screams from protestors as they tried to avoid getting hit with flying food and make their way to safe ground.

"I'm going to get you, Avalon!" Sin half laughed half screamed.

I grabbed Tris roughly and pulled her under the table.

"What is going on?!" She asked.

"Food fight, obviously," I snorted.

She rolled her eyes.

"Besides the obvious, Dr. Sarcasm."

Just then the table we were under lifted from the ground, revealing us to the chaos that was the cafeteria.

Sin smirked down at me and lunged for me with mixes of food in his hand.  I quickly dodged and got to my feet.

Clay and Justin blocked me in as Sin stepped in front of me with a wild glint in his cerulean blue eyes.

He stepped closer and was about to dump the food in his hands when...

"Mr. Blake and Miss West! My office Now!" Principal Hartfield bellowed. The cafeteria grew silent as everyone froze and looked at the small balding man in the front of the cafeteria.  "Everyone else, back to class!"

My heart sunk as I bent my head down to avoid the stares of my fellow classmates. I hid myself behind my curtain of long blonde hair while my cheeks flamed.

I had never been to the office before except to accept an award or to be a guide for new students. But now I was in trouble.

I should have never let it get that far, God what was I thinking?!

Everyone started whispering and soon the cafeteria was buzzing with burning curiosity.

I hurriedly shuffled out of the cafeteria and followed Mr. Hartfield to his office.

His door swung open showing his mahogany desk and brown leather chair. There were hardly any decorations in his tiny office except for his Stanford diploma and his certificates.

You went to Stanford and decided to become a principal? Ouch.

One lone picture frame sat on his desk, holding a picture of a beautiful, tall blonde woman and a little boy around the age of six, presumably his family. Two filing cabinets sat behind his desk, each one in the opposite corner facing one another.

I took a seat in one of the uncomfortable wooden chairs perched in front of his desk while Sin stood behind.

"Take a seat, Mr. Blake," Principal Hartfield gestured to the chair beside me.

Sin grunted and shook his head. "No thanks, I'd rather stand."

He crossed his arms lazily over his chest and stared at our Principal.

Hartfield sighed and shook his head.

"I would expect this kind of behavior from you, Sin. But I had higher hopes that you would not entertain this kind of foolishness, Miss West."

I lowered my head in shame. There goes my perfect permanent record. My hopes of Juliard and finally getting out of this dead beat town. My record will forever remain blemished and now I'm going to be stuck here attending.... Community college.

"It wasn't her fault..."

My head snapped up and to Sin's direction.

What is he doing?

Mr. Hartfield's eyes slid to Sin as he waited patiently for him to continue.

"Continue, Mr. Blake."

Sin cleared his throat and did as he was told.

"I provoked her. She had asked me to leave her alone several times and I ignored her request. I should get whatever punishment you were going to give to her."

His blue eyes met my wide ones. He was taking the fall for me... even after everything I said to him and did.

The principal nodded his head slowly and said, "Very well then. Unfortunately I do still have to give some sort of punishment to you, Miss West. It would be unfair to the rest of the school, especially if this sort of thing were to happen again, God forbid. You are both to clean the entire cafeteria until it is spotless. Avalon, this is your first and last warning. Next time it will effect your permanent record. Now go."

I quickly stood and rushed out of his office before he could change his mind. I was halfway to the lunch room when I spun around on my heels.

Sin stopped and looked at me while I tried to form coherent words.

"Why did you do that? I can handle myself just fine."

"Really? You were on the verge of tears in there. You call that handling yourself?" He scoffed. His eyes held a cold and defensive stare.

"I didn't ask for your help!" I yelled.

He rolled his eyes, "Fine. It won't happen again. Most people would say 'thank you' and move on." He shoved his way passed me and into the cafeteria.

"Sin.. Wait, I-" My plea fell on his dear ears as I face palmed myself.

Ughhhh... When did my life become a living soap opera?
