Jade had been sitting at the table, with her cup of tea and her novel, when she heard footsteps walking down the stairs
"Good morning," she called as Dean greeted her and kissed her hair, before going to the coffee jug
Alot had been on Jade's mind recently, she needed to talk to Dean about it
"Can we talk about something?" She asked, taking off her glasses
"Yeah, course," Dean said, turning to her
"I've been thinking about our future alot lately, and how do you feel about kids?" She asked
Dean paused with his lips nearly to the mug
"Umm, okay, I really don't think I'm ready for kids," he said, looking away from her
"Oh," Jade said, looking down
"I'm going for a run," Dean said, putting his mug down and walking out the door
Jade sighed and rested her head on her hands, she felt sick
Nikki and John, Seth and Sarah and her mom and dad were coming over later.
She got up and looked at her ring on her finger and she sighed and began fixing the food
"So what's new?" Nikki asked as she helped Jade in the kitchen
"I asked Dean about kids," she said, not looking at Nikki
"Oh yeah?" Nikki asked, glancing at her
"It wasn't good news, he said he wasn't ready for kids," Jade said, wiping under her eyes
"Are you serious?" Nikki asked, looking at her shocked, Jade nodded
"I can't believe him," Nikki elaborated, shocked
"I'm trying so hard to understand," she replied
Jade shushed her as she heard the door open
"Seth wants a smoothie," Dean said, looking at Jade who didn't meet his eyes, she just moved out of his way
Dean sighed and went over and began blending Seth's smoothie
Steph joined Nikki in the kitchen as Jade went to sit on the sofa
"Are you seriously upset with me?" Dean asked looking at her
"I don't know what you're talking about," she replied, smiling at him
"I'm sorry if it upset you babe," Dean continued
Jade didn't wanna ruin this great night so she gave him an amused look
"I'm upset? News to me," she said
"So you're not upset?" Dean asked
"No, I'm fine," she said getting up
"Get those on the grill, I smell like chicken, I'm gonna shower and I'll be out," she said, pecking his lips as she passed
She heard Dean sigh behind her but she shook her head and keep walking up the stairs
She quickly took a shower and put on her green sweater over her black tank top with some blue jeans
She walked back down and sat near Nikki and Dean on either side of her
"I'd like to make a toast, to everyone here, having a great night, thank you all for coming, and to my beautiful wife who made this possible," Dean said
"Cheers!" Everyone chorused
Jade looked over at Dean and smiled
"I need another beer," she said, getting up and walking inside, she kept thinking about this morning, then she thought about Dean. Was she really willing to sacrifice a life long dream of being a mom for this man?
She sighed and raked a hand through her hair and grabbed two beers, pulling off her green cover up, she picked back up the beers and walked back out
"So you wore my favourite tank top on you, did you wear my favourite pair of you underwear? You know, the red ones with the lace?" Dean asked, giving her an amused look as she walked back out
Her jaw dropped
But she smirked and responded
"Yes I did, you'll see it personally later," she winked, handing her dad another beer as Dean smiled at her, she returned it and sat down, joining in the conversation they were having, the topic of this morning, still on her mind
