Harry and I were unpacking before Eugenie entered our room and told us that William and Kate had arrived. I didn’t remove from my luggage the gifts that I bought for everyone. And the luggage has a combination lock. So, it’s pretty secure for the 25th.
Harry: Are you done unpacking?
Allana: Yeah. You?
Harry: Done. We have to go down to William and Kate.
Allana: I can see that.
I counted the gifts in my head. Everyone has a gift exept for William.
Allana: Harry?
Harry: What?
Allana: Do you have a gift for William, for Christmas?
Harry: Yes. Why?
Allana: Well, I kinda forgot to buy him one, so, I wondering if -
Harry: I’ll let the gift card be read as-’ To: William, Merry Christmas, Love Allana and Harry’?
This guy reads minds.
Allana: Yes. Would you?
Harry: On one condition. I forgot to buy George a gift.
Allana: Okay! I’ll sign it as ‘From Allana and Harry.’
Harry: Very well then.
Allana: Let’s go.
When we went down, Beatrice was not there. Kate was sitting on the couch with George sleeping on her arms, and William was sitting next to her with his arm on her shoulder.
Harry: Hello.
I waved my hand.
Kate handed George to William, then stood up and approached me.
When she approached me, she hugged me so tight.
Kate: Nice to see you, again.
She released me.
Allana: Nice to see you too.
She held out her hand.
Kate: So, lemme see it.
I looked at Harry then back at Kate.
Allana: Excuse me?
Harry: Darling, I think she wants to see the ring.
Well, everybody’s about the ring.
Allana: Do you?
Kate: I’ve waited two years to see the ring. Remember? When we visited you in the hospital, when you had the car accident, I asked you -’ Where’s the ring?’
Allana: And I answered-’ I don’t know.’
Harry: And I came home after a year and 9 months, the ring is with me, attached in my dogtag.
William: You attached it in your tag? Why didn’t I think of that?! I kept it inside my bag, wrapped in silk.
Harry laughed.
I smiled.
Kate: So.
Allana: What?
Out of impatientness, Harry gave my right hand to Kate.
Kate gasped.
Kate: Wow. Diamonds. Emphasis on the s.
I smiled.
Harry: Yeah. I like diamonds.
Allana: Well, I sorta love diamonds.
Harry: She does. And shiny, sparkly things.
Am I really the center of attention here?!
Beatrice came back.
Beatrice: Well, we are not eating for the whole holiday.
Harry: What?! Why?
I looked at Harry. Frowning. What?!
William: Don’t be so shocked, Allana, Harry loves to eat.
Kate: He gets that from his brother.
Allana: Well, I’m so thrilled about George. He has a family history of eating a lot.
Kate laughed.
Harry: Well, we could eat.
Beatrice: Eat what?
Eugenie: None of us know how to cook amazing food.
Harry: Don’t ever, ever ask William to cook for this holiday. I’d rather die.
William: Hey!
Kate: It’s that bad, William. That bad.
William: Well I could improve! If any of you will let me practice.
Allana: Just as long as you don’t cut yourself while cutting a tomato.
William: Harry?
Allana: 100% Henry Wales.
Harry: Well, that tomato was so hard.
Allana: No it wasn’t! I could squash it with my hands!
Dave: Well, who here knows how to cook?
Harry’s eyes opened. Well sorta popped out from the socket. Figuratively.
Harry: I know one who knows how to cook.
William: It’s not you isn’t it?
Harry: No.
Kate: And It is certainly not you, Will.
Jack: Well, who does know how to cook amazingly?
Harry scoffed.
Harry: I’ll give you a hint or two. Brunette, gray eyes, pretty smart and pretty, has an MD.
Oh, dear God!?
Harry continued.
Harry: Almost diamond encrusted-
Everybody looked at Kate.
Kate: My eyes are green. And I don’t have an MD.
Then they turned to Eugenie.
Eugenie: No. Don’t have an MD.
Then they turned to Beatrice.
Beatrice: Oh, in my dreams. I don’t have my college degree yet?! And you expect me to have an MD.
William: Don’t look at me. I barely have hair.
Harry: None of you has an idea? Really? There are three brunettes in this room. Green eyed, gray eyed and another gray eyed. Narrow it down!
Eugenie: I got it.
Beatrice: Me too. I got it.
William: I know her!
Kate: Aha!
Jack: This is so exciting.
Dave: Lunch is on it’s way.
Harry wrapped his arms around me.
Allana: I don’t cook that good.
Harry: Yeah, you do. She does.
Allana: Fine. I am cooking. But, just for this day. And I don’t cook midnight snacks. It’s unhealthy.
Everyone clapped.
Allana: Great. Let me just tie my hair up and I’ll start cooking. Harry, can you please come up with me upstairs?
Harry: Sure. Excuse us.
