Tourists storm Pyin-Oo-Lwin's train platform
Must-see Goteik viaduct awaits
Many tourists exchange seats with locals
For threadbare cushions with a view.
Passing through fields and forest,
A cliff face stares us down
The train slows to a crawl.
It meanders down toward the trestles
Considered the highest worldwide,
Back in 1900.
We hope for good maintenance.
It hasn't taken a life, yet.
The train creaks,
We pass over a jungle encircled river,
102 meters below.
Arms jut out
Clutching cameras, self-sticks and phones
Train curves toward the cliff edge's safety
A tunnel swallows us whole.
Spits us into rice fields.

Thanks for sticking with the story even after these long posting gaps. Works seems to be chewing me up and spitting me back out again lately. Thanks for your support.
