Okay, we get it. Your friend gave you permission to say the n word but that still doesn't mean you should say it! The n word is not a word that should be thrown around by non-black people. Even if it's in your favorite song and your singing it with your black friend next to you. DON'T SAY IT.
Now, you might be asking "Well, why do only black people get to say it." Well, I'm not entirely sure this is accurate but feel free to tell me. Black people do it to reclaim their blackness and because non-black people aren't black, they can't reclaim their blackness.
Now, I'm going to tell to you a story about my ignorant and stupid ex-friend.
One day after school my friend (lets call her helene) went on the group chat my friends and I have. She was saying how the guys in our class sexually harrased her (they didn't) and that she felt the mood quote "Really (insert n word)" and I'm usually a really laid back person (not really) but this pissed me off because she was one of those basic ass white girls (sorry for the stereotype) saying a word that she shouldn't even think about saying.
I then replied to her saying how she shouldn't have said the n word and then Helene went with the same excuse every person does, "Well, my boyfriend who's black gave me permission to so yeah, I can say it." And then another girl (lets call her peggy) said "Well all my black friends say it's okay to say that word so it's okay for helene to say it." That's when I got really mad and just said the obvious thing (and correct thing), "Well it's still a racial slur!" And left the group chat because I couldn't handle the amount of stupidity in that group chat.
I know this is short but please keep in mind not to say the n word if you aren't black and here is a flow chart I found.
