Claire thought she'd find Alex and the Suttons having breakfast. But all she found was a sticky note on the fridge: "Off to the farm. C ya at the parade."
She smiled, reaching out to turn on the coffeemaker, but a sudden pain prick in her belly stopped her.
"Okay, no coffee. Tea, then," she muttered with a sore grimace, rubbing her belly.
She'd felt sort of sick the whole night. As if she'd eaten too much, or something that could cause her a heartburn.
Good thing they were out. The house was quiet and she had the chance to get a shut-eye. She needed to sleep at least a couple of hours, considering they'd be up late that night.
