"Easier said than done.." you mutter to yourself, rolling onto your side to stare at nothing in particular. Your eyebrows furrow slightly, thinking about what's to come starting tomorrow; a fresh, new week of school.
You aren't sure why someone like (C/N) would be interested in talking to you every day. Not that you're complaining, it's just that you never say anything to continue the conversation; thanks to your awkwardness. You often avoid eye contact because whenever you look at him, even just for a second, your face heats up. Him being your crush doesn't make things any better.
Your friends constantly say things like, "You should talk to him more!" Once again, easier said than done. It's not that you don't want to talk to him; you're just afraid of saying the wrong things and making a fool of yourself.
Sighing, you shut your eyes. "I shouldn't overthink things."

Since you finished your class work earlier than you expected, you decide to draw. A few minutes ago, Mr. Shipper announced that this will be a partner assignment. However, you don't have any friends in the class. Needless to say, you worked by yourself. Placing a hand on your cheek with your elbow perch on the desk, you focus on drawing. Drawing has always been an enjoyment for you; you find yourself drawing during class often.
"Hey," a familiar voice greets; a voice you hear each day.
You hesitatingly look up, watching the male pull out a chair from the desk beside you and pushing it to your desk. Settling in front of you, his eyes meet yours and he grins a lopsided grin. Your face promptly heats up, so you stare at your drawing in hopes that he doesn't see your blushing face.
"How was your weekend? I had to help my family around the house. There were tons of things they made me do!" (C/N) complains, leaning back in the chair with his hands behind his head. He huffs. "Mowing the lawn isn't too bad, but it was so hot. Anyways, hopefully your weekend was better?"
"Oh.. u-uh it was okay I guess.." you reply back quietly, picking at the eraser on your pencil.
Drumming his fingers on the edge of your desk, he asks, "What did you do?"
"Watched TV.." You glance at his face that's luckily turned to the right; his eyebrows are furrow and he's chewing on his bottom lip reflectively. Based on all of that and his drumming fingers, you come to a conclusion that he's either annoyed, confused, or deep in thought.
The same lopsided grin appears on his face again as you realize that he's fixated on you again. Blushing immensely, you focus your attention back on the desk and shut your eyes. He definitely caught me looking at him..
"What are you drawing?" he questions, eyeing the drawing. "It looks nice so far."
You smile to yourself. "Just ch-characters from my favorite show.. and thank you."
"You're welcome!" His lips tug into a warm smile instead of the usual lopsided grin.
He opens his mouth to say something but Mr. Shipper interrupts. "Alright class, please turn in what you have even if you're not finished!"
"Well, bye (Y/N)."
You look up, only to see him returning the chair back to the desk beside you. (C/N) briefly looks at you before heading to his desk to pack things up.

Finally, Friday. You trudge to your desk and heave a loud sigh, crashing into your seat. Taking out your drawing book, you flip to a new page. (C/N)'s laughter causes you to look up promptly; you look up so quickly that you felt as if your neck could snap.
He suddenly stopped talking to you once Tuesday came around. At that time, you thought that the usual greeting will return the next day. However.. it didn't. Wednesday wasn't any different, nor was Thursday. It finally dawned on you that he was avoiding you.
Sweat beads start to form as you find yourself walking up to your crush's desk. Class has finally ended and you managed to muster up the courage to talk to him. "(C-C/N).." Aside from you and your crush, Mr. Shipper is also present in the classroom.
He halts and gazes at you with his (C/E/C) eyes; his lips are in a thin line and his eyebrows are furrow in confusion. He gives you a curt nod, indicating for you to continue. You tug on your sleeve and avert your eyes. "I-I.." Closing your eyes for a second or two, you let out a sigh before continuing. "I know you think that I don't like you. B-But the reason why I-I don't talk to you much is because I like you. A lot. A-And talking to you is a lot harder than I thought and I didn't want to say the wrong thin-.. I just confessed to you didn't I?"
Waving your hands back and forth and laughing awkwardly, you step back. "P-Please ignore everything that I've said! I-I'm sorry!" You send him a sheepish smile and turn to leave.
"Wait."
You turn and meet his gaze, only to - of course - end up quickly looking away in nervousness. You're afraid that you really did screw things up this time. However, you didn't anticipate his response. "I'm sorry for assuming things. It just seemed like you didn't like me since you always looked away whenever I looked at you and you seemed really uninterested in our conversations." He pauses, humming. "Though.. I guess I'm quite the chatter box huh? You probably got annoyed pretty quickly."
"Not at all." You give a short laugh. (C/N) gives you a lopsided grin, the grin you absolutely adore, and says the four words you never thought you would ever hear; just four simple words that makes your heart soar.
"I like you too."
