*One Week Later*
Alex's POV
After our vacation in Texas we all head back to L.A I still feel like Demi's mom doesn't like me as we finally get home I kiss Demi goodbye and I head home. We start school tomorrow and I need some rest and I decided to head to bed as I lay there I kept thinking about our vacation and I hope Demi's mom will like me.
*The Next Day*
Still Alex's POV
I get dressed and I head downstairs and hop in my car I get a text from Demi and I smile when I read it
To:Alex
From:Demi
Hey babe can't wait to go dress shopping for the wedding soon I love you see you in class."
I drive to go pick up Hailey and I'm waiting for her and she comes out and she gets in the car and she seemed off today like if something was bothering her I look over to her and I see her eyes are watery I hold her hand and pull over and say
"Hailey are you okay what's wrong.?"
"Nothing Alex it's okay I'm just having a bad morning." she says
"Well do you wanna talk about it to get it off your chest.?" I say
"Maybe later but right now let's just get to school okay I'm fine really." she says
"Fine but you know I'm always here when you need me okay.?"
she smiles and hugs me and says
"I always knew that ever since we were kids."
I smile and I drive off to school today went by pretty fast first period was fun because Demi played a movie and we just had fun. Then 3rd period came and we were all bored I looked over at Hailey and she still seemed to act a little off today as I was waiting for the period to end I hear my phone vibrate and I got a text from Demi
To:Alex
From:Demi
"Hey babe I'm going to buy some coffee do you want anything.?"
To:Demi
From:Alex
"Yeah please I don't I can survive history without caffeine haha."
after a few minutes she replies
To:Alex
From:Demi
"Haha Alright baby see you soon I love you!xoxo."
To:Demi
From:Alex
"I love you too baby forever and always see you soon xoxo."
I put my phone away and I talk with Jolene for a bit and I feel my phone vibrate again at first I thought it was Demi but it wasn't it was from Hailey
To:Alex
From:Hailey
"Hey Alex can we talk outside for a minute.?"
I reply back and I'm getting worried
To:Hailey
From:Alex
"Yeah sure when right now.?"
She replies in seconds and she says
To:Alex
From:Hailey
"Yeah right now please.... I can't handle this anymore."
I ask the teacher if he can excuse us and he let us go since we finished all of our work and we walk outside and we walk to the next hallway away from the classroom she looked broken and scared I hugged her and she began sobbing
"Hailey what's wrong.?"
"I don't know what to do anymore this is too much to handle.." she said in tears
"Hailey...Please tell me what's wrong.?" I said trying to hold back tears
"Promise you won't be mad at me please don't leave me don't abandon me you're all I have left." she said
"Hailey I'll never leave you or ever be mad at you please tell me what's wrong.?" I said
"I...I can't!." she said sobbing
"Hailey....Please tell me what's wrong...please I can't bear to see you like this." I said
she pulls up her sleeve and I see 7 cuts on her wrist
"Why..did you this to yourself.?" I said
she cries and says
"Because I don't...know why I never felt this much pain in my life it's too much to handle." she said sobbing
I kiss each cut on her wrist and I hug her and I said
"What's making you feel like this Hailey please tell me.?"
"Because I-." she said before she got cut off by two loud bangs
*BANG* BANG*
"What the hell is that.?!" Hailey said
we heard screaming and again two more louder bangs
*BANG* BANG*
I recognized the sounds those were gunshots
I grab Hailey and we run into a empty classroom and I push her to the corner of the wall and close the door I hear more gunshots going off and more screaming and running on the other side of the halls I run towards Hailey and hold her in my arms as we hide under a table she's holding onto me tight and she begins to cry I whisper in her ear
"Hailey listen we're going to be okay I'm here I won't let anything happen to you okay." I say
she hugs me tight and cries in my shoulder I begin to cry with her then we hear the door open and we hold onto each other expecting the worst then the door opens and we couldn't believe who it was.
