I'm not chasing after our past
Though we had it good then
Just our future
For we'll have it better then
For time stands still for naught
Forever inching along
Five centimeters per second
It's movement incessant
So I'm forever running fast
To catch up at last
And I'll rest
When your arms I've reached
Securing a future of you and me
