"Hey, (Y/N)! Wait for me!"
You halt and turn around, silently watching the male struggle to get out of the crowd. Every so often he'll mumble an, "Excuse me" or a "Coming through." However, the crowd doesn't disperse and people continue to talk amongst themselves right in the middle of the hallway.
"I wonder why he keeps doing these things for me.."
You're of lower middle class whereas (C/N), the guy you have been crushing on for quite some time now, is of upper middle class. In other words, he's quite popular and always have people surrounding him. You could careless about popularity though; you have a close group of friends who you adore and care for.
For the past week, your crush has been talking to you a lot and it seems as if he's making excuses to see you. From helping you work on projects to walking with you to homeroom, your friends think that he likes you. On the other hand, you don't agree and feel that he's out of your league.
(C/N) finally reaches you, muttering incoherent words under his breath. Throwing his hands up in the air he complains, "I seriously don't get why people stand in the middle of the freaking hallway to talk when they can just stand to the side. There are others who are trying to get to class." He clears his throat, smiling sheepishly at you. "Let's go to homeroom. Sorry for the mini rant. I really can't stand people in our school."
"Same," you say. "I don't mind you ranting though, I mean.. I rant to you all the time."
He hums, slowly nodding after a while. "That's true. Anyways, did you manage to finish that English project last night? Sorry again that I couldn't stay to help you finish it."
You wave your hand dismissively. "It's fine! You had practice. Plus, you have been helping me a lot in the past."
He smiles to himself and stands back to allow you to enter the classroom first. Gesturing towards the door he bows down and says, "Ladies first."
You thank him and step inside, only to be push to the side by a group of students who were waiting for (C/N) to arrive. They bombard him with greetings as he smiles nervously, greeting everyone back. "Now if you'll excuse me.. I was talking to (Y/N)." The group moves away to allow the slightly irritated male to go through the doorway. "Well, someone gave me a box of chocolates. Want some?"
"What a difficult question.." You smile cheekily, sitting in your assigned seat which happens to be next to your crush. Thank you, Mr. Shipper.
He rips the packaging and slowly takes off the lid. You fake a yawn and stare at an imaginary watch on your wrist. "30 minutes later and (C/N) is still opening the box of chocolates."
He chuckles and finally take the lid off. "Cue the sparkles and hearts. These chocolates look so good!"
You tap your chin and scrutinize the variety of chocolates before you; there are a mix of dark and milk chocolate treats, as well as some chocolate covered almonds and peanuts. Your mouth waters as you decide on (Your Choice).
You take a bite and immediately feel happiness surging inside of you. "I love you so much. So delicious and beautiful." You wipe an imaginary tear from your cheek and sniff, eating the rest of the chocolate.
(C/N) glances at you while slowly chewing. "Are you.. okay?"
"I'm great!"
Before sliding the box to you, he takes one more chocolate treat. "Here, you can have the rest. You seem to get really happy whenever you eat chocolate so.. enjoy!"
Your eyes light up. "Cue the sparkles and hearts. I love you!"
"I uh.." He nervously rubs the back of his neck. "I love-.. well, uh I guess you're welcome."
(C/B/F/N) walks over and gives (C/N) a slap on the back. "Hey (C/N)!" Looking at you, he smirks. "Oh? So (Y/N) is the one who you have been choosing to talk to over us."
"Shut up.." the (C/H/C)-haired male mutters, a smile forming on his lips. "Are you guys coming to practice tonight?"
"Definitely. You?"
"Of course, I'll be there."
"Alright, we'll talk in Chem! Another lab today." He slaps his back once more and sends you a playful wink. "See you next period (Y/N)!"
You wave goodbye to your classmate as the bell rings. Slinging your backpack over your shoulder, you pick up the box of chocolates and smile at your crush. "See you later and thanks again for the chocolates!"
"No problem and have fun in English. Good luck with (C/B/F/N)!" He stands up as well with his backpack. You two part ways in the hallway.
As you're walking to class, you can't help but smile to yourself. He was about to say 'I love you too.' I'm so happy I could cry.
"What did he say this time? You're smiling."
"Sheesh! Stop appearing out of nowhere, you scared me!" You place a hand on your chest and glare at your friend.
"Sorry, not." She shrugs. "Now spill."
"Well, we were sharing chocolates and he gave me the rest. I told him I love him, in a joking way of course, and he got all nervous and was about to say 'I love you too' but stopped."
"And you say that he doesn't like you.." She glances at you with raised eyebrows as she crosses her arms. "Uh huh.. he totally doesn't like you. Zero percent. Nada."
You only smile in response and punch her arm. With every action that he does, you're starting to agree with your friends. But the other part of you is screaming, 'He doesn't like you, he's just being friendly!' Of course, that side of you wins and you shrug off any thoughts of your crush liking you.
Him liking me? Pfft.. I'm funny.
