The owls are howling as I walk through the streets under the faint glow of the streetlights. The whole world seems to be asleep.
My mind is wandering over all the places where Eira's house might be situated. I am relieved that I at least know her second name now - Arellano.
I go from home to home reading the nameplates with the torch in my phone. There is an Andrew, an Archington, an Astachio but no Arellano.
But I don't lose hope. I go from street to street, a sudden determination fuelling my weak muscles.
My phone gives up as the first rays of the sun appear. I keep on searching for her house.
The exhaustion overwhelms my nerves. I don't know when I sit down, but unconsciousness finally takes over.
