“What did you guys do this summer?” Eric asked.  The 3 boys had met Eric the first day when the lacrosse team was having their meeting for incoming players.

“We went to the beach for a week with Mason’s grandparents and I don’t know we just chilled.” John said, lounging back in a chair in the common area of their dorm building.

“Why did you go with old people?” Kevin asked.  Kevin was another lacrosse player from Pennsylvania.

“Well, we didn’t go with them. My grandparents have a beach house, so we just stayed with them.”  Mason explained to the boys.

“Oh, that makes sense!” Kevin exclaimed, nodding his head.

“So, it was just you three? Oh, and Mason’s grandparents?” Eric asked them.

The three boys, Mason, John, and Logan, looked at each other nervously. “I know that look,” Kevin shouted, “You hooked up with some chicks didn’t you?”

“Wha- no! We did not “hook up” with anyone,” Logan explained, “We just, we got to know some girls.”

“Well, were they hot?” Eric asked.  All three boys looked at each other, trying not to think about how beautiful they all were.  “Well, what were their names?”

“Kaitlin, Lauren, and Tara. Why?” John said.

All of a sudden Kevin’s eyes lit up. “Wait, what were these girls’ last names?”  Kevin went to high school with three girls with the exact same names, but could it be possible that they were talking about the same girls?

“Kaitlin Lewin, Lauren Cortese, and Tara Percival, I think.” Logan told Kevin.

“Wait, I know those girls! I went to high school with them back in Pennsylvania!” Kevin shouted across the room.

            “No way!” John said back.

“No one answered my question. Are. These. Girls. Hot?” Eric said.

The three boys, and Kevin all nodded their heads.  Mason, John, and Logan shot Kevin a glance and Kevin replied, “What? I’m not denying the facts here.”

“Yeah, we got really close to them, but then on the last day they just kind of left and, well, we haven’t talked to them since.” John said, looking down at the ground.

“Dude, why don’t I invite them to the party Friday night?  They all got into Florida State, so that’s only what, 2 hours from here?” Kevin said.

The boys all really wanted to see Kaitlin, Lauren, and Tara, but they didn’t know if they were ready for all the memories to come flooding back.  “Yes! Do it!” Mason said, a little too eagerly.  He was excited because he and Lauren had kind of kept in touch over the weeks, and this would be the perfect time to get together again.  Logan wanted to talk to Tara again and John, well John needed an explanation from Kaitlin about what the hell happened that day.

“Alright, I’ll give them a call now.” Kevin said, getting up from the chair and heading to his dorm.  He headed to his room and grabbed his phone.  He dialed Tara’s number and leaned back in his desk chair.

            “Hello?” Tara asked.

            “Tara! Hey! It’s Kevin!”

            “Kevin! How’ve you been?”

“I’m doing pretty well.  Getting used to all this warm weather right?”

“Oh totally,” Tara said, “So, um, did you need something or did you just want to say hi?”

“Well, there’s a party going on here tomorrow night and I might need some Pennsylvania friends to party with.  Don’t think I don’t remember how fun you, Lauren, and Kaitlin are at parties.”

“You got that right!  Hold on a minute will you?” Tara said and she turned to Kaitlin and Lauren who were sitting next to her. “Kevin just invited us to a party at the University of Florida tomorrow night.  You guys in?”

            “Yes!” Lauren exclaimed.

“Um, I guess.” Kaitlin said.  Ever since they left the beach, Kaitlin hadn’t been the same.  John really hurt her, and she was still hurting.

“Kevin? You still there?” Tara said into the phone.

            “Yup, still here.  You in?”

“Of course we are! See you tomorrow night!” Tara said, hanging up the phone.

Kevin put his phone on his desk and ran back out to the boys.  “Guys. The girls are coming.”

“Really?” Logan said nervously.  He wasn’t sure if he was ready to see Tara after their “break up”.  He was still falling for her, but he wasn’t sure she still felt the same way, and that scared him.

“Yes really Logan! You see, I can get the ladies.” Kevin said, doing a little swag dance around the common area.

“Woah, back off dude.” Mason said, getting all defensive.

“Wait a minute, do they know we’re going to be at this party?” John asked Kevin.

“Um, uh, yea! They were all really excited to see you guys again.” Kevin said, rubbing his head nervously. Kevin wasn’t the best liar in the world, so he wouldn’t be surprised if the boys didn’t believe him.

“You didn’t tell them about us did you.” Logan said, not even bothering to ask it in question form.

“Um, no.” Kevin said looking at the ground.

“Way to go Kev.” Eric said, patting him on the back.

“How exciting is this!” Tara asked the other girls as they were sitting in the back of a red convertible, top down.

“What, you guys have never been in a convertible before?” Mary asked us, laughing to herself.  Mary was a junior at Florida State and she just happened to be invited to the same party and offered to give the girls a ride.

“No, not that.  Getting invited to a party at the rival school.  Like how often does that happen?”

“And especially to three freshman girls.” Lauren said excitedly.

“How much longer?” Kaitlin said, with her head leaning against the window.

“Kaitlin are you going to be like this all night? Because this whole snarky act is getting really old.” Lauren said.

“Oh, and you’re the one calling me snarky?” Kaitlin replied back to her.

“Guys can we please not fight? This is supposed to be a fun night and we’re not going to be able to have fun if you guys are fighting.” Tara told the girls.

“Tara’s right.  I’m sorry guys, but this whole thing is kind of making me nervous.” Kaitlin told the girls.

“Wait, why? We’ve been to parties before!” Lauren said.

“I know, but did it ever come across your mind that John, Logan, and Mason might be at this party?” Kaitlin told them.

“Mason won’t be there.” Lauren said.  She had texted Mason asking if he was going to the party, but he said that he wasn’t.

“How do you know?” Kaitlin asked.

“Well, he kind of told me.  So if he’s not there, then there’s a pretty good chance John and Logan won’t be there either.” Lauren told them.

“Well obviously, cause Logan’s at Stanford.” Tara said.  She was almost one hundred percent positive that Logan went to Stanford because that was his dream school.

“Wait, who are these boys?” Mary asked.

“Long story, but to keep it short, they’re just 3 guys we met at the beach this summer.”  Kaitlin told her.

“Ok, well I doubt you would find them even if they were here because look how many people are here.” Mary said, as they pulled into the driveway of the fraternity house the party was at.

“Holy crap.” All three girls said in unison as they stared at the huge house in front of them.  There were people all over the yard and the music was playing louder than they had ever heard.

“How are we going to find Kevin?” Tara asked.

“I guess we’ll just have to hope for the best.” Lauren said, as the three girls walked toward the party.  They walked across the lawn and headed into the house to attempt to find Kevin.  The inside of the fraternity house was filled with people pushing you around left and right.

“Ok, there is no way we’re going to find him.” Kaitlin said, crossing her arms.

“What?!” Tara and Lauren said in unison.  They couldn’t even hear anything over the booming music filling the house.

“I SAID HOW ARE WE GOING TO FIND KEVIN?” Kaitlin yelled at the girls.

“I say we divide and conquer and meet back here in 15 minutes.” Lauren yelled, pointing in opposite directions, in case the other girls didn’t hear her.  Kaitlin and Tara nodded and they all split apart.
