My name is Ellenor Bart. I have gone from being the Beta's daughter to just being an Omega. They or should I say we are the lowest-ranked wolfs there is in a pack. To understand how I got here, I have to start the day my pack was slaughtered in front of my eyes.
Day of the Attack:
I have been waiting for Jem, my best friend, who is 7 (1 year older than me), we are supposed to play dress up today. She has been away for a couple of days. So, we haven't had any "girl time" as she calls it. People say we look like sisters, I don't see it, but we do act like sisters.
" Elie sweetheart Jem is here, come to the living room." my mom said to me just as I was going to go to my room.
" I'm coming, mommy," I yell out as I ran down the stairs.
We played for hours until it was time for Jem and her parents to leave. That's when everything started to happen. We heard people screaming, so we went downstairs to see what was going on. I wish we hadn't; what we saw was not pleasant. Pack members were laying on the floor in puddles of blood.
" RUN! GO RUN!" we heard from someone that was laying on the floor. He looked in a lot of pain, so I ran to him.
" Are you okay?" I asked him.
" Run and don't look back. We are being attacked by rogues. Now GO!" he told us.
I ran back to Jem and grabbed her hand, running out of the house. What we saw when we got outside was a horror movie. People laid all over the back of the packhouse dead or close to dying. Jem was frozen in place, so I had to pull here away to get us somewhere safe. I didn't see mommy and daddy anywhere, so I ran into the forest. I knew a place that we would be safe, mommy and daddy would find us there when this was over. We ran through the woods, making sure that rogues would not see us. We ran until we were close to the hideout that I had created for myself.
"Where are we going? We need to help." Jem kept asking me.
" No mommy and daddy would not like that. They told me if this were ever to happen to just go to my hideout where they could find me after everything was over." I told her.
"But we can't just let everyone die. WE HAVE TO HELP!" She said to me.
I was about to answer her when I heard voices, and my curiosity got the best of me, but it also got the best of Jem. We both ran to where the voices were coming from but made sure to stay hidden.
When we got to where the voices were coming from, we saw the alpha with our parents in front of a group of what looked like rouges. One of the rogues had our pregnant Luna by her throat next to what looked like their leader. The alpha looked very mad, so did my dad and Jem's. Our moms were standing behind them and some other pack warriors that were with them. They all were scared they were going to lose their Luna as were Jem and me.
They had already hurt us so much why were they doing this? What did they want? No one was talking; they were just growling at each other and looked like they were ready to fight each other. Of course, we were outnumbered because they had killed everyone else, I assumed. My suspicion was made true when a man came out of the woods into the clearing from the other direction Jem and I were at.
"Everyone is dead, but we still can't find what we came for we have looked she is nowhere to be found." The men told the leader, but what caught my eye was the way alpha looked at my daddy.
"She's safe; she would hide. They will never find her," my mom whispered to my dad and alpha.
It looked like no one, but the alpha and our dads heard her. All I was thinking was who they were talking about where they safe? I hope for their sake that they were because these people look mean. The rough leader looked mad at this point he told our alpha, " give us the girl, and what is left of this pathetic pack can live, and I will give you your Luna back."
The alpha growled and responded, " You will never get the girl; we don't even know where she is at. So how do you expect to find her? Now give me MY MATE back before I kill you."
The leader just laughed and then did something that we weren't expecting him to do. He KILLED our Luna. The alpha howled so loud that we had to cover our ears. He lost not only his mate but also his unborn pup. The roughs just laughed as they saw our pack feel the death of our Luna.
The leader then spoke up and said, " I warned you all this could have been avoided if you had just given me the girl. But you didn't listen, so now you lost your mate and Luna."
After he was done talking, the alpha got up and said, " You will NEVER get the girl, and you will pay for killing my mate."
When he was done, he launched himself towards the rogue leader and started to fight first in human form, and then they shifted into their wolves. When both sides saw this, they took it as a sign to attack each other. I was scared, and it took a lot of strength not to run out there towards my mommy and daddy. Jem grabbed me and held me like she knew what I was thinking. I was happy she was holding me but confused because she was the one that told me we had to help our pack and know she is the one holding me back.
We saw the whole fight, and at one point I had to hold Jem back all I heard her say was " no mom dad no" and then she covered her mouth as to stop a scream that was threatening to come out. She had tears coming out of her eyes. I looked at where she was looking, and I saw her mom and dad on the ground dead and two other wolves standing over them. I didn't know what to say to her; she just says her mom and dad get killed.
The fight felt like it was going on for hours, but we couldn't move from where we were hiding. Almost all our warriors were dead, but the ones that were still alive kept fighting even if they were outnumbered. I kept an eye on my mommy and daddy; they fought together, protecting one another they were taking roughs out. The fight got to the point that is was just the alpha and my parents; they were surrounded by roughs. What happened next was an image that I will never forget. I saw my alpha be killed along with my mommy and daddy. I couldn't hold in the scream that left my mouth. I wasn't as strong as Jem I couldn't hold back the pain I felt at that moment.
The roughs heard me, and their leader screamed, " GET THEM NOW! I WANT THEM ALIVE THEY WILL SUFFER THE SAME FATE AS EVERYONE ELSE!"
We ran, well I was being dragged by Jem, who was running. We heard them behind us, but we just kept running. The only problem was that we didn't know where to go anymore and they surrounded us. There were 9 of them, and three were in human form.
One of them told us, " you have nowhere to go now; come with us."
It was Jem that spoke first and yelled, " We will never go with you."
That only made the man mad one of them grabbed her. Now it was just me in the middle of all of them, with Jem struggling to get out of the man's hold. They were all looking at me now, but out of nowhere, I started to feel this weird feeling all over my body. I closed my eyes and heard bones breaking, and then I heard gasps, so I opened my eyes to see what had happened. Why were they grasping?
What surprised me the most was when I opened my eyes, I could see better, and I was taller, by a lot. Then I looked at the men around me. They were all looking at me like something was wrong. So, I looked down at myself and saw that I was not standing on two legs but in wolf form. I saw white fur on me, but what surprised me the most was that I was just a little smaller than the other wolves around me. I was only five; you're not supposed to shift till your 15 and on some occasions 16. Then I heard a voice in my head.
"Hello Elie, I'm your wolf Aya. I need you to give me full control so I can get you and your friend out of here. Just drift off into the back of your mind, and I will take over after that." My wolf, Aya, said so I did just as she told me. Then I started to move, but I wasn't doing it. I was confused.
"It's okay, darling, it's just me moving us so we can defend ourselves. You can close your eyes if you want. You probably won't want to see any of this." As much as I wanted to close my eyes, I couldn't. I saw everything she did from killing the roughs to getting Jem on our back so we could run.
We were now far away from our pack. I didn't know where but my wolf has been running for hours because the sun had gone down, and now it is coming back out. So, she decided it was safe to stop, and she found a lake, and she laid on the floor. I could tell she was tired of running. Jem got off our back and sat down next to us.
All she could say was, " You shifted! How? That's not possible. You have to be at least fifteen to shift." At this point, Aya had given me control back, so I just shrugged my shoulders at Jem because I didn't even know, and neither did my wolf.
We just lay there for a while till Aya spoke, " We should wash our fur; it is covered in mud and blood. Also, you can see what we look like in the lake." So, I did as she said and washed our fur in the lake and then looked at us in the reflection the lake gave.
I had white fur, and my regular green eyes are a bluish-green color. "We're beautiful," Aya says. Then she said something that worried me a little " We are on a packs territory, and I hear them coming we have to change back" I did as she told me and she told me how to shift back to my regular self. What was weird, besides everything else, is that my clothes didn't rip as they should. They were just like before, like nothing happened, but I couldn't focus on that because Aya said, " They are getting closer."
I had told Jem what was happening, and when the men arrived, they were in human form wearing shorts. There were only three. Aya was telling me what to tell them while Jem just stayed by my side. The men then took us to their packhouse, the reason being " to keep you safe," like the man who was the alpha said.
