"this was fucking sick, I love these kinds off meet ups" Tobi said as they all got into the car that was supposed to be taking them form Liverpool back to London, it was quite a drive, but they did not mind that much, the plane that they were supposed to be going on was not cleared to fly, so they had to take a taxi.
"well goodnight boys, I'm gonna sleep the hole way home" JJ laughed as he had a big night the night before, he and Calfreezy had gone to Liverpool a day early just to party, Cal had then gone home earlier today.
"still a bit hungover are we?" Simon laughed at him
"fuck off Simon, I'm not hungover, I'm just a bit tired because I did not get much sleep last night " JJ shot back, but they all knew that was a lie because JJ was a lightweight and when he went out drinking he often got hammered and did not remember most off the night, or he would be the emotional drunk.
"sure mate, keep telling yourself that" Ethan told him as JJ just threw his water bottle at him and Simon who were sitting side by side in the car, They were all sitting across from one another, with JJ in the front seat with the driver. Harry was sitting at the window with Simon and Ethan in his row, and Tobi, Josh and Vikk were across from them, with Vikk across from Harry.
They were almost in London when it happened, They were on the high way and there was not much traffic, but it was heavy rain so the road was very wet, the driver was and older man and he did not seam bothered by that at all, and the guys were not nervous either, in fact most off them were asleep, Harry, Simon, Tobi and JJ were all fast asleep, and Vikk and Josh were nodding in and out off sleep, Ethan was just playing a game on his phone, not really bothered by anything, except laughing at JJ's snoring in the front seat.
"how long left?" Ethan asked
"just about an hour or so" the driver said back and Ethan just nodded and carried on playing his game, then all off a sudden there was a loud noise off the brake and the next thing Ethan knew was that they were on the side, and he was laying on Simon who was crushing Harry. And on the other end it was not much different, but there Vikk was the one being crushed and at that moment almost everyone woke up, except Tobi and Harry.
"what the hell" Simon said as he opened his eyes
"we need to get free, we are crushing Harry" Ethan moaned out, his leg was really hurting him, so it hurt him to move
"Harry, are you with me, can you hear me?" Simon asked as the youngest was not making any sounds, he was out, he had probably knocked his head when they turned as there was blood on the cracked window, on the other side off the car Vikk was crying as he was trying to get an unconscious Tobi off him, he was just holding his arm tight to his body, it did not look good, they could all see that strait away. Josh did not look to hurt, and neither did Simon, they were both just trying to get free to help the others, and stop crushing Harry and Vikk up against the window off the car.
"Tobi wake up man, are you alright?" Josh said frantic as Tobi was not making any movements and he looked like he was in bad shape
"hey are you OK in the front?" Simon called out to JJ and the driver
"yeah, I'm fine" JJ cried out, he was most likely just in shock
"what about the driver?"
"I think he is dead" JJ cried out as he was forced to look at the driver again, and that was not a pretty sight at all.
"JJ don't look, just close your eyes and keep calm" Josh told him as he knew that freaking out would not help the situation at all, but Vikk and Ethan were crying in the back, and JJ was crying in the front, Tobi and Harry were still out and Josh and Simon were trying to keep everyone calm, while trying to get themselves free from the car, but Simon's seat belt was broken so he could not for the life off him get free, and that worried him a lot because he was basically laying on top off Harry who did not look to good as his breathing was all over the place.
Then people started to arrive, trying to help them out and the emergency services were called, Simon was starting to struggle himself as it hurt his shoulder to be pushed against Harry, and his arm was starting to hurt, and it hurt him a lot to see everyone else so upset
"Vikk you are going to be fine, trust me" Josh was trying to comfort the smaller Sidemen as he was crying in pain, and no wonder, his arm was bleeding badly.
"it hurts Josh, it really hurts" he just moaned out as his injured arm was pressed up against the window.
"I know it does, but you are going to have to be brave now, I know you can do it Vikk"
"I just want to get out off here" he cried out as he tried to push Tobi off him, but that only hurt him more, making him cry even harder, and at that moment Harry finally woke up.
"owwww" he moaned out as he tired to get free himself, Simon was crushing him and Ethan was on top off Simon so there was no way that he would get free himself without help
"Harry, are you OK"
"I can't breath" Harry moaned out as he was clearly struggling to keep calm and breath.
"take deep breaths Harry, just focus on your breathing" Simon told him
"I need you go get off me, I can't breath!" Harry cried out again as he tired to push Simon away over and over again, hurting Simon and hurting himself more and more as he was constantly falling back in to him.
"Harry stop, please" Simon begged him, but the youngest would not listen, he just wanted to get out, and he wanted to get out now, he was in so much pain and the only thing that he could think about was that he wanted the other Sidemen off him, the pain would go when they were off him, the crying only made things worse for him, he was crying so hard and that made breathing so much more difficult for him. Vikk, JJ and Ethan were not any different, they were all in shock and in pain in different ways and they all wanted to just get out off the car.
"are you OK?" they got asked as they saw a paramedic on top off the car
"no" Harry replied weakly, he was starting to really struggle, he could not breath, his chest felt so tight and the weight off Simon laying on him was getting to much for him to handle. Vikk was in agony as he was pressed up against the window and he made it clear to the other boys that he was not good
"OK, here is what is gonna happen, we are going to be taking you one by one out off here, and we will try to be as quick as possible OK, but you have to stay calm as you are 8 in this car so it will take a bit off time, do you understand" she said as the boys just moaned out, but they all understood, they were going to get Josh out first as they would have to get to Tobi quickly, he still had not woken up and that made everyone very worried, he could have a serious head injury. Josh was then taken out off the car, they put a neck brace on him, just in case and he got helped down and strait onto a stretcher as he got taken to an ambulance, and then they were 7 left in the car
"Harry, just try to breath" Simon said worried as Harry was starting to gasp for air, he was slowly passing out again and the paramedics were getting worried about him, they had to get Tobi out first as he looked really bad, and then they would have to get Ethan and Simon out before they could get to the boys at the bottom, Vikk was still crying in pain and Harry was slowly passing out again.
"stay with us OK" Simon told Harry who just nodded slowly
"Harry, I mean it, don't do this to me, just try to stay awake, for me" Simon almost screamed at the younger boy.
"I can't" Harry just moaned out as he took another short and shaky breath
"we have to hurry, we need to get that one out" they all heard as Ethan got pulled out off the car and then there was a paramedic inside the car, he would have to cut the seatbelt off Simon to get him out off there, he would need to start treating Harry or he would die. He and Vikk both got oxygen masks to help with the pain and breathing, and I.V's were set up while they were trying to take Tobi out, they would also have to get JJ and the driver out off the car, but JJ told them that he could wait, he wanted Harry and Vikk out first, and they all agreed after they tried to find a pulse on the driver, but it was to late, he was already gone, so JJ could wait, Vikk and Harry could not
"where is the pain?" the paramedic asked Vikk as he was giving Harry some medication to ease his pain a bit.
"in my arm" Vikk moaned out, his arm looked really badly broken
"you are going to be taken out shortly, I'm going to give you something to help you keep calm, sound good" he told Vikk calmly, then he got a neck brace on Harry and then Vikk.
It took them about 5 more minutes to get both Harry and Vikk out off the car and they were off strait away, they had to get to the hospital quickly, Vikk would need surgery on his arm, the bones were clearly broken and his arm was really cut up because off the window, Harry's head had stopped bleeding but he was still struggling to breath and he just looked broken, he was on the verge off passing out again and as they came to the hospital he was almost out, they got him a scan strait away and then he was taken if for surgery, 4 off his ribs were broken and his lung had collapsed, he had also gotten a hairline fracture to his pelvis after getting pushed against the window, he was also going in for surgery strait away, the others had all gone in for testing to see if they had any injury's, Tobi had still not woken up and it was starting to worry everyone. The youngest two Sidemen were in surgery and one was still unconscious. Ethan had ben taken up to the ortho floor off the hospital so they could set his leg, he would need to have surgery as well to fix it, but it could wait until the next day, JJ only had a nasty gash on his arm and there were some muscle sprains and tears in the arm as well so he would have to have it in a sling for a while, they were going to let him go in the morning, Simon had broken his wrist and the seatbelt had injured his shoulder, he wound not need surgery, but like JJ he was going to need to wear a sling for a few weeks to let the shoulder heal, then a lot off physical therapy to not lose any strength in the shoulder. Josh was fine, he had gotten away with only bumps and bruises, he had to get a few stitches in his leg as he had cut himself on the door, but other than that he was fine.
They were all sitting with Ethan in his room when the news came through that Harry was in surgery, they had already gotten the news that Vikk was in surgery and that Tobi was having tests done.
"what is happening?" Ethan asked worried
"he broke a few ribs that we need to fix, one off the ribs made a hole in his lung and it collapsed, that was why he had trouble breathing and we are going to be fixing that as well"
"did he get hurt anywhere else?" Josh asked
"he fractured his pelvis, but he does not need surgery for that, he will however not be able to put weight on that hip for 6 weeks and he is going to be here in hospital for a little while, because he is not really allowed to move while he has the chest tube in, to drain the blood and fluids from his chest after the surgery, we also have to keep him here for a little while because off the lung"
"when is he gonna get out off surgery?"
"he will be done in about 5 hours" they got told and Simon asked if they could be with him when he would wake up, but then they got the news that he would be sedated for a few hours after the surgery, just to let him rest, and after that he would be very high on pain meds.
"are there any news on our other friend that is in surgery?" Josh then asked
"they are still operating and they have a few hours to go"
"but what about Tobi Brown?"
"no news yet I'm afraid, I will update you when I know anything, you should try to get some rest, and you three should go back to your rooms now" he said to them and Simon, Josh and JJ just nodded, they were all going to be staying overnight for monitoring.
When Simon woke up the next morning Josh and JJ were in his room, he had a bit off a headache that the nurses told him was a mild concussion
"any news on Vikk, Harry and Tobi, has Ethan gone in for surgery yet?" Simon asked
"no Ethan will go in a couple off hours, he was still asleep when we got there so we thought we would let him rest, he had a pretty sleepless night we were told" JJ said as he looked down
"is he OK?"
"yeah, just pain and he is worried about the surgery, he will be fine" JJ nodded
"and Tobi?"
"he is in a coma in the ICU, there was some pressure at his brain, and they did some doctor things and he should be woken up tomorrow" JJ told them
"some doctor stuff" Simon smiled
"I don't know how to explain it" JJ laughed a bit
"Vikk and Harry are out off surgery, and Vikk is just resting, his arm is in a big cast all the way up to his shoulder, we were told to let him rest for the day, he is gonna be discharged in like two days or so" Josh told him
"and Harry?"
"he is still asleep, we are not allowed to see him as he is in the ICU, they are re inflating his lung and he has a chest tube to drain all the blood and stuff out off his chest, they also have his leg in some sort off traction to make sure that his hip does not move" JJ whispered, they had been able to look at both Harry and Tobi through the window.
The day past and 3 off the Sidemen had been discharged, Tobi was still in a coma, but Vikk and Ethan were up for visitors after there surgery's, Simon was with Ethan to keep him company and JJ and Josh were at Vikk's side for comfort and to keep him entertained, he was still in a lot off pain, but they all were in pain. Then a doctor came in to Ethan's room to bring them an update on both Harry and Tobi
"Tobi is getting better, the pressure in his brain is almost gone and he will make a full recovery, we are going to be keeping him sedated for a bit more, but he will be good to go in about 5 days or so"
"thank god" both Ethan and Simon said, they had both been so worried about Tobi and if he would be the same again or if he would have permanent damage, his family was with him now and Manny had visited everyone, except Harry, but he had not been allowed to go in there
"what about Harry"
"we are going to wake him up now and see how he reacts, if he is in to much pain we are going to sedate him again, but as his family is not here yet, we would like to ask if you or any off your other friends would like to sit with him and help him as he wakes up, he will need someone that he knows at his side"
"I will come" Simon said as he stood up, looking at Ethan to see if he was OK with it
"yeah go, my mom is coming back in a bit, I'm all good, just go support Harry, he needs you" Ethan told him as he hugged Ethan and then he walked to Harry's room following the doctor.
"he is going to wake up in a few minutes, just talk to him calmly, he might be upset and in pain, but you just need to help him through it and try to calm him down if he gets to worked up, if he can't handle this we are going to sedate him again OK" the told him and Simon just nodded, looking at Harry who was looking so sore, his leg was being held strait so it would not move and they were going to be keeping it like that until he would get the chest tube out, because he was not allowed to move.
Harry started to stir a couple of minutes later, and he was in pain, his body was broken and he just had surgery and he was not feeling great, he was so confused of what had happened and Simon was trying his best to calm him down, but he was injured to so there was not a hole lot he could do.
"Harry, I'm here, just stay calm, you are gonna be alright"
"where is my mom" Harry cried out
"she is gonna be here tonight, you are gonna be OK"
"I need my mom" Harry cried out
"I know, I know" Simon told him as he just stroked over his arm to try to help him in any way
"what happened?" Harry asked as he had calmed down a bit
"we got into a car accident"
"I know, I mean are everyone OK, what is wrong with me?" Harry said as the tears started braking free
"Tobi is in the ICU, they are going to wake him up tomorrow, he has no major injury's there was just some pressure in his head, but he is getting better and he is going to be fine, no lasting damage."
"and everyone else?"
"Vikk and Ethan had surgery's, Vikk broke his arm pretty badly and Ethan broke his leg, they are both just recovering, I'm OK, I just broke my arm and injured my shoulder, JJ and Josh are just stitched up, you Vikk and the driver were the worst off"
"so basically everyone on the driver's side off the car"
"yeah"
"so what is wrong with me?"
"you broke 4 ribs and your lung collapsed, that is why you have chest tube in, they are draining the blood and fluid and all that good stuff around your lung to help it get back to normal, they put your ribs back together as well, and you then broke your pelvis, just a hairline fracture but while you have the chest tube in you can not move and they put your leg in traction to hold the pelvis stable, just to help it heal before you start moving again" Simon explained to Harry who just nodded
"so I'm gonna be fine"
"yeah, you are going be fine, it will hurt, but you are going to be fine" Simon told him and shortly after Harry nodded off again, Simon had turned on the TV for him and he just fell asleep shortly after with Simon holding his hand, he was on very strong pain killers and he was very tired. Everyone was getting on fine and they had all survived, and that was something that they were very thankful for.
