Avianna's POV

What was I thinking? I sit at my Computer, working on another strand of java (She's coding), and resist the urge to slap myself. I told them that I would get out of class and meet up with them, not only that, but they are going to be smoking! I look down to see my finger pressing down the 'z' key, and groan. I have to fix at least 20 lines now, but I am positive that the Idiots will find some way to get back at me if I don't follow through. I raise my hand and gulp.

**

I hate walking around school. The guys said that they would meet me by the bathrooms, but I am starting to think they ditched. I would've ditched too if Kaden hadn't frightened me earlier. I am not as conditioned to physical abuse as I was a couple of weeks ago, so the close call rattled me more than usual.

I am still wandering aimlessly when I feel a hand over my mouth, and somebody pulling me. How am I supposed to scream? The only thing that would be coming out of my throat is probably breathy gasps. The person pulls me into one of the LGI rooms, which was conveniently empty.

"Surprise!!! Hi, Mutie!" The lights flicked on, and Blondie stood in front of me with a childish grin on his face. I so want to smash his perfect teeth in, but then I remember how weak and scrawny I am.

"Were you surprised?!" Ginger looks at me expectantly. Apparently, I was supposed to be delighted with the sudden snatch.

'More like mortified. Take your heads out of your butts next time, and maybe you will have some common sense' I had grabbed my whiteboard as soon as the lights were on, and was hoping that I could make them realize what dipsticks they are.

"Awww, did we scare our little Mutie?" Logan slings his arm around me once again; I should really just bite his hand off.

I see Cactus brooding in the corner, at least somebody is as upset as me. Aiden walks up next, grinning like Chucky, "Hey Mutie! I have decided to forgive you!" The smile seems twisted and sadistic, but I don't flinch when he goes to my unoccupied shoulder and rests his arm opposite of Logan's.

Stoic Brownie sits in one of the chairs, watching us impassively, and Ginger whines to Logan and Aiden for taking his spot. If they are attempting to push my buttons, they have succeeded, but I stand still. I stand as stiff as a rod, and they bicker on without a care, while Luke seems interested in some gum on the ceiling. Kaden stares at me for the first part, but I think he was getting annoyed because he just pulled out his phone.

Their arms move to my head, using my scalp as an armrest. Bi-Polar and Blondie are both giants compared to me. I almost wish that Ginger was there instead of one of them since he is the shortest at 5'10", ish. My back tires and I fade in and out of the conversation.

"He was all like, 'no not the nice Taco Bell, like the really ghetto one', so I called him a-"

"What do you mean she doesn't like Parcheesi?!"

"Why is it, that our school will finance Smart Boards and Chromebooks, but they won't fix the bathroom stall doors?!"

"Is there any love greater, than that of mine for my fridge?"

"Yeah man, my love for my freezer, that is where you keep the chocolate pies and ice cream!"

"Shut up Logan!"

"Make me Jacob!"

"Can't we all just be friends?"

""SHUT UP AIDEN!""

"You guys are giving me a headache", Kaden finally interrupts their philosophical debate, and they finally lift their weight off of my head. Sweet freedom, it feels so good.

"Sorry Kaden, but Jacob totally started it!" Logan was the first to point fingers, and I look over to see Luke closes his eyes and dozing off in the corner.

"What?! No, that was all your fault!" Jacob rebutted Logan, which led to a three-way fistfight because Aiden is some special type of idiot.

I stand in the middle of the room, I haven't taken a step since they started talking. Luke is now transfixed with some of the graffiti on the desks, but I see Kaden looking at me through his peripheral vision. He ain't slick.

Kaden stands up from his brooding corner and walks over to me, I feel my heart speeding up; I am terrified. He gets up to my face and sticks his mouth by my ear, "If you are not going to do anything, then just leave. We don't need anyone like you here."

I wonder how many guys in this little clique are on their man period.

I force a smile and nod, ready to walk out of the room.

"Hey Avianna, you want to come help me with something? I have been meaning to draw something for an English assignment I keep putting off." Stoic Brownie waved me over, and I would be lying if I said that I wasn't shocked. I nod a little, and walk over to his corner, sitting down at the desk to his right.

'What were you thinking?' I look at him and he grins, "They want us to write about something that has shaped the person we are, and they also want some form of media to go along with it. I was thinking of doing something car-related, and they might give me a little bit more for something creative." This is the most emotion I have seen from him today, and it looks like the guys are shocked too.

'I can probably help you with that. Do you want a 1968 Stingray like the one you guys were working on the other day?' Luke looked over my response and seemed surprised.

"You know the make and model?"

The other guys looked at us curiously and walked over to see what I wrote before their faces morphed into surprise as well.

'Well, it isn't that hard. The body was obviously a Stingray, and the only model that doesn't have an insignia is from 1968.' I look at them like they are idiots, and Luke seems amused again. Can I still call him Stoic Brownie? He composes himself before the others, and Kaden still looks pissed. What the heck did I do to him?

"Yeah, that would actually be a great topic too. The guys and I have been fixing up cars for a long time, and the Stingray is by far the most challenging", Luke seems almost ecstatic at the idea, and I can't help feeling a little wary. Wasn't he supposed to be quiet, how dare he not obey my nickname?

"Guys she doesn't have a place here, she shouldn't have come in the first place. Avianna you should go, this isn't for you, and we don't want you here. You are nothing more than a little homework resource, so why don't you just leave us alone?" Kaden goes off again, fuming once more. I shrug, I have been ready to leave since I arrived, and I know when I am unwelcome, but only Kaden seems hostile at this point, or maybe he seems prickly...I am hilarious.

"Dude, let her stay. I happen to like hanging out with Mutie gosh dang it, and the way you are talking to her doesn't fly", Logan slings his arm around me once again, almost protectively. The way he was telling Kaden to respect me was somewhat amusing since Logan won't stop calling me Mutie. If I could talk I would have a rainbow ready to fire at these guys. 'Idiots' doesn't even begin to cover their stupidity.

"Avianna is not a resource for me Kaden, I was just trying to make her feel more welcome after you started acting like a douche." Poor Kaden, even Luke is ganging up on him.

"Kaden, Mutie is pretty chill, and she knows her crap about cars. Don't you want to see if her brains rub off on Aiden, Logan, and I so we don't botch the repairs more?" Aw, Ginger is helping out. For guys that have been pissed off with me almost an hour ago, they are doing a bang up job at defending me.

I almost want to stay in the room. Almost. 'I'm fine guys. The bell is about to ring anyways, so I should go meet up with Kaylee. Sorry for pissing you off Kaden, maybe you can tell me why later because all I see right now is a dirt bag.' I have to erase the board several times to get all the words on there, but my point got across, and I finally escaped into the hallway.

I could hear the guys starting to flip out at each other as I walked away from the now closed door. I wonder what the dilemma is now because all I have seen so far have been their little petty cat fights. By the time I reach the Computer Lab, the passing period was already in motion. Kaylee is tapping her foot by the door, and her face lights up in recognition as I approach her.

"Where were you girl? We have to go to Spanish now but don't worry, Ms. Lopez is pretty chill." Kaylee grabs my arm and pulls me along like always, but this time with more urgency, since we are almost definitely going to be late. We are almost halfway there when the bell rings, and Kaylee reassures me that we won't get in trouble, though I really don't care.

By the time we reach the room, the role is already being taken, and I can see that Kaden is sitting in one of the only isolated tables. I sigh after realizing that the only free seat after Kaylee sits down, is the one beside him. How did he get here first?

"Class, this is Avianna Wilkes, she is a transfer student. She is mute, so please refrain from excessive questioning. Avianna you can take the seat next to Mr. Holmes." I let out a short breath before making my way to the back and dropping my bag next to Kaden, it isn't like the fabric container will do much to shield me from his glare.

"Hey there Mutie."

Wow. He really can't stand me now.

Oh, and I was told that I need to credit my older sister's tweet for the taco bell dialogue. Love you, sis!
