"Jackson... Don't let go!" I shout as I held his hand.
"I'm sorry," Jackson lets go and falls into flooding water,
"Nooo!" I shout. "Jackson!"
"Elena! Elena!" I wake up.
"It was just a dream," Ashton is standing beside my bed. I lay back down. I try to calm down, every night for the past week, the same thing. Tossing and turning, nightmares.
"Can I ask, why are you here?" I ask Ashton as he sits on the side of my bed,
"You know very much why" he answers.
Ashton, since yesterday has been keeping an eye on me, I guess he is worried. He invited himself, not me. He sleeps on EMA's Bed, since she is never here. He lays on EMA's bed facing the other direction
"Can I ask you something?" I ask, he turns to face me. "Have you ever lost anyone?" What am I thinking?! "Sorry, bad question," I say,
"Nah, it's fine. And no, I haven't really lost anyone close."
"So you still have a family?" I ask,
"I wouldn't say that," he adds, "When I was little I was tossed over to the authorities, and soon ended up here. I consider the school family."
"Including the director?" I ask,
"Of course, he is the creepy uncle," he jokes, I laugh,
"So I guess we both don't have any blood family," I say,
"family by blood means nothing if you don't have bonds." He says.
The next morning, we get up and head for a walk to Jackson's grave, we head there every Monday. Jackson's grave is private restricted to family only, and us of course. We buried an empty coffin under a healthy tree.
I walk up a small hill in my uniform to see his grave, and a figure standing there.
"Hey, you!" I shout I run up the hill followed by Ashton, "This place is restricted," I tell the woman standing here, she looks to be in her late 30s,
"Family and close friends only," Ashton adds.
"I am family," she says,
"Impossible, I am the last of Jackson's family,"
"Elena?" She questions.
"How did you know my name?" I ask,
"My name is Violet Claireace. I am your mother's sister,"
"My mother didn't have a sister, she was an only child," I tell her,
"If your birth mother was an only child then call me imaginary, I am your mothers sister, I am your Aunt," She claims,
"I don't believe this, leave." I tell her,
"Oh... I see, you don't know just yet." She blurts,
"Know what?" I ask,
The woman pulls out a chain necklace from behind her shirt to show a symbol, It look to be a dragon, wrapped around a sword.
"What is this?" I ask,
"Just remember this, I'll be back here on Sunday, if you still don't believe me don't show up, if you do come and we can talk," The woman says.
She begins to walk away.
"Could what she is saying be true?" Ash asks
"No, it's impossible, she can't be my aunt, both of my parents had no living siblings," I say,
"Well let's go then, school has already started," Ashton says.
By the next morning, I was training, trying to think.
I practice my skills with my sword, "Uh-ha!" I begin to stubble
"Elena!" Ashton runs over, "Are you okay?"
"Yeah just stumbled," I say as he helps me up,
"I didn't mean that. Stand up straight," he says,
"What? No I have training to do." I try to continue my training,
"Elena stop. Stand up straight, now." He says,
"Argh, Fine," I say as I stand up, "What now?" I ask,
"No more training," he orders,
"What? No!" He takes my sword, "Ashton!" I say as I try to grab my sword,
"Look at you, your arms are shaking!" he points out as he grabs my arm,
"I'm fine,"
"I know this is about your brother and that woman, you are confused and need to let out some steam, hurting yourself isn't the right thing,." He says,
"This has nothing to do with Jackson or that woman" I claim as he walks away with my sword, I try to storm out but my legs turn to jelly and I just fall down.
"Elena," he rushed over,
"Sorry I'm fine, I guess I did train a little too hard..." I manage to stand up,
"I'm going back to my room," I say as I stand up and walk off.
I find myself laying on my bed,
"Elena? Are you in?" Ashton asks as he stands at the door,
"Come in," I say.
We begin to sit and talk,
"So she can't possibly be related to you?" Ashton asks
"It IS impossible. She can't be my aunt." I tell myself.
"If she was Jackson would've said something right?" Ashton mentions
"The fairy tale book, In the fairy tale book, look in the book it will tell you everything you need to know,"
I sit up quickly.
"The fairy tale book." I reach for all of Jacksons things, they are in boxes under my bed.
"The what what-what?" he questions,
"The last words Jackson said to me had something to do will all the answers in a fairy tail book," I say as I look under my bed where Jackson's things rest. I move all the boxes, trying to find some Fairy tale book.
'Clothing' 'School books' All different boxes. 'Personal owners'
I pull out the personal ownings box, I have no idea what to find in here, I haven't lived under the same roof with Jackson in a while.
On the very top of the pile is all of Jackson's school awards.
'Highest Entrance Exam Results'
'Elected Student Captain, First Years'
'Highest Exam Results – Semester 1.'
'Highest Exam Results – Semester 2.'
'Duel Testing Runner-up'
"Runner-up? That isn't like him," I say out loud,
"Yeah, everyone was surprised when he surrendered the last game, they say he must of hurt himself in the last game." Ashton says,
"This game was two years ago, that was my first time seeing him in action," I say. I continue to look through his stuff until I see the fairy tale book.
"Is this it?" I pull out a leather covered book. No title.
"What is it about?" Ashton asks,
"A long time ago, in a place far, far away. Rose wanted to touch the stars." I read the first page, "One day, Rose and her brother Jake decided to chase the stars..." we read the book till the happy ending,
"Rose was happy now, Rose had her own star."
"Is that all?" Ashton asks,
I look in and out of the book, nothing.
"Nothing, nothing at all,"
"Give me the book," Ashton says. "There something... behind this..." Ashton looks at the leather cover. We remove the cover are a pieces of paper drops of out of the covering.
Ashton looks at the documents,
"What does it say?" I ask,
"Um... well, you're... sorta adopted." He says,
"What?!" I look at the documents,
It's true...
I try to find everything I can, it seems like my so-called parents were friends of my real parents. And Jackson is only a half-brother.
Birth mother: Isabell Mari Rosetta Vison
Birth Father: Jonas William Vison.
One half-brother: Jackson William Vison.
