Ryuuji's pov
"Sir, may I remind you that mr. Cordova is expecting to see you this afternoon for a business meeting. Nung isang araw pa sila kumuha ng schedule sa atin." Si Dona habang hawak ang electronic notepad nito.
As expected kay Dona ay sinasalubong na ako nito sa bungad palang ng building, para ibigay ang schedule ko for the day.
"Do cancel all my meeting for this afternoon. I'll be off early for an important matter. If they insist on having a meeting with me, then they must have it this morning or tomorrow. Just not later." Seryoso kong saad habang umaandar ang elevator.
"Will I also cancel the departments presentation scheduled this afternoon sir?" Tanong nito.
"No, we will proceed with the presentation this afternoon. Importanteng naaupdate ako sa mga nangyayari sa bawat opisina ng kumpanya. Yet, have everything be presented before 5pm. I want all presentations be done in smooth sailing manner." Sagot ko dito habang chinecheck ang oras sa aking smart watch.
"Just cancel those third parties who wants to be involve in my company. Wala akong oras para sa mga gusto lang sumipsip ng pera sa kumpanya ko." Dugtong ko.
"Well understood sir." Stiff nitong sagot. Sometimes i'm thinking that maybe i'm giving this woman too much work load to handle. I may be strict, but i'm also considerate in many ways.
"Are you still fine with the work load i'm giving you dona?" Tanong ko dito.
"Perfectly fine sir." She answered with confidence.
"Good." Saad ko at bumukas na ang pinto ng elevator saka tumuloy sa aking office.
Wala na akong naiwan pang mga tatrabahuhing papeles since I manage to have it done as soon as I received it. I only have the presentation paper to be reviewed for this afternoons' presentation of each departments.
For more than a year of managing my business, I was able to outperform most of the leading companies of my level. It is the reason why i'm earning more than twice the common company is having for a month. My company is earning in a month of what others are dying to have in six months. Kaya naman, I have the rights to at least have the decency to choose among those leeches who are trying to suck out money that I effortly manage to put into this company. May karapatan akong maging choosy ika nga.
I was in the middle of a run through on all the data to be presented this afternoon ng tumunog ang aking office phone.
"What is it Dona?" Saad ko matapos sagutin ang tawag.
"Sir. Mr. Patrick Tart Consolasyon is here right now and he wanted to have a few minutes of talk with you." Sagot nito.
Kumunot ang noo ko sa narinig. Ano naman kaya ang pakay nito ngayon?
"Let him in Done. And politely apologize kung kelangan pa nyang maghintay sa labas kanina." Saad ko dit.
"Will do sir." Sagot nito saka ko binaba ang tawag.
Bumukas ang pinto at pumasok si Dona at kasunod ang isang may katangkarang binata.
Hindi ko mawari pero tila may kamukha ito na kakilala ko o sadya bang nagkita na kami nito.
Tumayo ako upang ipakita ang aking manners since pareho naman kaming CEO nito.
"Thank you Dona for leading Mr. Consolasyon here. You may go now." Saad ko kay Dona na tinanguan lang nito saka lumabas ulit ng opisina ko.
"Good morning Mr. Consolasyon. Have a seat." Bungad ko ditohabang itinuturo ang isang sofa type ng upuan sa loob ng office ko. It is intended for my guest with higher positions in the business world.
"I believe we already know each other Mr. Kazuma. So there's no need to have this conversation long." Kung gaano ka cold ang boses ko ay ganun din ito. But, the way he looked at me, I can sense a bit of sarcasm and mockery. And I definitely don't back down.
"Yes I sure know we do. So could you point out directly your reason for being here?" Tanong ko sabay sandal ng likod ko sa back rest ng single seater sofa. Ganun din ang ginawa nito at mariing tumitig sa aking mata. Tila sinusuri ang kailaliman ng mga sikreto ko.
"Hmm well, I came here to know why you cancel the scheduled meeting which your secretary requested from us." Direktang tanong nito.
"Ahhh yun lang pala ang pinunta mo dito. I cancelled it for some personal reasons." Sagot ko dito.
"And that personal reason is a meeting of merger of your company to a low ranking industrial firm?" Ngumisi ito at tila ba iniinsulto ang naging desisyon ko sa pagpasok sa zeetrip firm.
I just grinned back as if to complement his insults.
"There is nothing wrong in having a merger with a firm that has a lot of potential to grow and be successful." Nakangisi ko paring sagot ng hindi nagpapatinag sa aming titigan. His petty gestures won't intimidate me.
"Are you saying that my company who have been on top among my competitors doesn't have the potential that you are looking for? Mas gusto mo yung wala pang napapatunayan kesa sa may napatunayan na? What a risky businessman you are." Pangiinsulto padin nito sa akin. Napatawa ako ng marahan sa mga tinuran nito. Such a lowless idiot who doesn't have any idea of hard work.
"Tsk tsk. Mr. Consolasyon, everything in this world is just an opportunity. Every actions and decisions we had is a risk to take. Plus the fact that I did not just earned the position that I have now from my father or any ancestors. All of these came from the success that was brought about by the risk and hardship that I have taken from the past. Eh ikaw, Mr. Consolasyon, have you had you fair share of risk and hardship taken from your past?" Pangiinsulto ko ding balik dito. Hinding hindi na ito makakasabat dahil alam kong wala naman talaga itong ginawa kundi manahin lang ang lahat ng yaman mula ama nito.
Kita ko ang pagkawala ng ngiti mula sa labi nito at napalitan ng seryosong mukha. Tila naman nagalak ako sa nakitang pagbabago nito.
At least I still manage to bully someone at this age of mine. Akala ko di ko na kayang mambully.
"Quite the words there Mr. Kazuma. Let me just remind you that my father and yours are very good friends." Seryosong saad nito.
"Ahh yeah I do acknowledge their friendship. But, unfortunately my dad has nothing to do with my company at lalo na ang tatay mo." Nakangisi ko pading sagot. Tumawa nalang ito ng may pagkasarkastiko at pilit tinatago ang pagkainis.
"Okay then, I guess, I can't have a deal of merger with your company." Saad nito na kinangisi ko nalang. Yun pala talaga ang pakay nya. Ang kunin ang loob ko para makipagmerge sa kumpanya nya.
"Sorry but no." Nakangiti kong sagot.
"Well, at least I have your girl." Ngiting insulto nitong saad. That hit me. Totoo ngang nasa kanya ang babaeng nangakong magpapakasal sa akin. Ang babaeng pinag alayan ko ng puso at buhay ko. Pinag alayan ko dati.
"Ahh yeah, about that girl. You can have her. I don't keep used toys. You may recycle her if you want. I have taken all of her and I realized, I do need a new one. So you can keep her." Sagot ko dito ng puno ng sarkasmo at pang iinsulto.
Tuluyan na ngang nasira ang mukha nito pero pinipilit lang nito ang compusure sa aking harap.
"Hmmm that would be all. I hope this little chit chat with you wont affect your desicion about the auction later this afternoon." Turan nito saka tumayo at iniabot ang kamay upang kamayan ako.
"Ahh yeah the auction. No problem at all. I don't take any of your words seriously." Sagot ko sabay kamay dito.
"Well see you this afternoon." Pagpapaalam nito.
"Yeah see you. Let Dona lead you outside." Sagot ko sabay pindot ng ring button sa office ni Dona. At agad naman dumating sekretarya at lumabas na ang dalawa.
Naiwan akong nakatayo at nakititig sa harap ng glass wall ko. Tanaw ang himpapawid mula sa likod ng glass window ng office ko.
"That girl still can make my mind stop for a second. Iba parin talaga ang epekto nya sa akin." Saad ko habang isinusuksok ang kamay sa magkabilang bulsa.
Natapos naman ng maayos at on time lahat ng presentations ng iba't ibang department.
And 30 minutes before the expected time ng auction ay tumunog na ang phone ko.
"I'll be waiting for you at the lobby. I have sent the address to Thrace. 10 minutes before the time is the start of the presentation." Bungad ni Thark ng sagutin ko ang tawag.
"Affirmative." Sagot ko sabay baba na rin ng tawag.
Agad na akong bumaba matapos magpaalam kay Dona. Sinalubong naman ako ni Thrace upang kunin ang atteche case ko.
"Just on time." Salubong sa akin ni Thark ng makapasok ako sa may lumang building dito sa north sea port.
"Alam mong ayaw kong nalelate diba?" Saad ko dito. Kasama nya an kanyang apat na body guard in suit habang ako naman ay si Thrace lang ang kasama. Pero ang lakas ni Thrace ay higit pa sa apat na body guard ni Thark.
"Thrace." Seryosong bati nito sabay tingin ng seryoso kay Thrace. Nakipagtitigan lang din ang isa at tipid na ngumiti. Hindi ko alam ngunit tila may kung anong connection ang dalawa.
"Sir may I have your invitation?" Ang biglang bagsag ng isang boses sa katahimikan naming tatlo.
Inilabas naman ng body guard ni Thark ang dalawang tila gold plated card at iniabot ito sa babaeng nakapang chinese attire. Yumuko ito matapos makuha ang cards.
"Please follow me po." Saad nito matapos tignan ang mga cards. Sumunod naman kaming lahat dito.
"This place is a trash." Saad ko kay Thark na kasabay ko ngayong naglalakad.
"It's just an outside cover. Wait 'till you see what's inside." Sagot naman nito.
And in cue ay pumasok kami sa isang curtained door at bumungad sakin ang eleganteng hall. Maayos na nakahilera ang mga tables at kanya kanyang naka upo na ang mga bisitang panigurado ay sasali sa subastahang mangyayari.
Nang makapasok kami ay dawalang babaeng naka harlequin mask ang lumapit at pinigyan kami ng kanya kanyang maskara no Thark saka kami inaya sa aming table at upuan.
"I must admit, they did a pretty well job in the place. I'm not expecting this." Mahina kong saad kay Thark ng makaupo kaming dalawa habang nakatayo naman sa likod namin si Thrace at ang mga bodygaurd ni Thark.
"Told ya. Hindi naman kasi magandang magiimbita sila ng mga mayayamang tao tapos ipapasok lang nila sa maruming lugar." Sagot nito. Hinatiran naman kami ng dalawang glass wine habang nilalagyan naman ng dalawang babaeng nakamaskara ng wine ang mga baso namin saka yumuko at umalis.
Nasa tamang tema lahat. Mula sa ayos ng lugar, sa suot ng mga bisita at sa saliw ng musika. Everything is so elegant that you won't even believe that it is an abandoned building outside.
"Good evening ladies and gentlemen." Panimula ng emcee.
"Welcome and thank you for coming here to join the 20th underground auction of Consolasyon group of companies. Let us all welcome the head of auction tonight. Mr. Patrick Tart Consolasyon. To give us a little input about the auction." Saad nito saka ibinigay naman kay Tart ang mic habang pumapalakpak ang ibang bisita. I'm too tired to clap.
"Thank you. Hello everyone. I hope you are all doing fine with the arrangement we have done. The mask was given to maintain the anonymity of everyone who attended the auction. Only me knows all of you. Okay, so we will have the auction in an organize manner. We will have the ancient artifacts first to the modern unique items and end it all to the naughty auctions for naughty ladies and gentlemen here. You will have the item according to the highest bid you have made and will own it tax free obviously. So, I guess everyone is excited, let me officially open the auction." At pinalakpakan sya ng mga bisita maliban guro samin ni Thark na tila pagod ang mga kamay.
And the auction started. From some lost paintings, to ancient mayan jars and even dinosaur bones are placed for biddings. The rare European jet engines, the robotic humanoid and some hacking machines. But, what I am after are the limited edition rare car parts and engines. Each of those parts cost more than half of the highest bid it took. And I was glad enough to own each and every parts presented. Naging parang paradise ang auction sa mga mata ko.
"What a smile mister kazuma." So Thark habang umiinom ng wine sa kanyang wine glass.
"I never enjoyed an auction this much. It's like seeing heaven for the first time." Sagot ko dito na tinawanan nalang nito.
The Auction continued and different items are presented. For the very first time, I was not board with the presentation, which I mostly find in other auction.
"We are almost at the end of our auction, and I can see that everyone is enjoying the presentation. Now this last auction is quite unique. Naiiba ito kaya naman Mr. Patrick Tart will again give you the input about our next auctioned." Saad ng emcee saka inabot sa ngayong nakamaskara nang si Tart at ang di ko inaasahan ang taong nakasunod dito.
May nakakabit na dog collar at leash na para bang aso ang turing dito. Nakayuko ito at nakasuot ng maskara din. That stance, that hair, the shape of her face. Kahit pa natatakpan ng maskara ay di ako magkakamaling siya iyon.
Hindi ko mawari, lumakas ang tibok ng puso ko at namamawis sa pagkuyom ang aking kamay.
"Ryuu calm down. You know, you don't own her anymore." Mahinang saad n Thark. Nilingon ko sya at alam kong bakas ang galit sa mukha ko.
"That girl is fvcking Tiara! My fiancee!" Pagalit at puno ng gigil kong saad.
"Ang pvt$ng in$ng yan ginawang aso ang kaisa isang babaeng minahal ko!" Puno ng galit kong dugtong. Akmang tatayo na ako ng hawakan ng mahigpit ni Thark at Thrace ang magkabila kong balikat.
"Remember she turned you down. Hindi mo na sya fiancee at hiniwalayan ka na nya. Kumalma ka dahil hindi kakayanin ni Thrace pati narin ng mga bodyguards ko ang dami ng bantay dito kaya calm down Ryuuji. Ginusto ni Tiara na maging ganyan kaya wala ka nang magagawa." Pagpaliwanag nito.
Wala akong nagawa pa kundi ang huminga ng malalim para kumalma at inumin ang wine.
I can't fvcking believe it. Ito ba ang gusto ni Tiara na mangyari sa kanya? Ang maging aso ng iba?
"I treated her like a queen, pero hindi man lang nya sinabing gusto nya maging aso." May galit padin sa tono ko. Nawala ang gana ko sa nakita ko plus hearing Thark smirk is like adding insult to the injury. Masyadong natapakan ng pvnyet$ng Tart na yan ang ego ko.
"Dino Galvano here is a college boy and ready to do all your request. Pls place your bid." Dinig kong sabi ng emcee and unexpectedly ay nagtaas ng cue card ang katabi ko.
"5 million from our gentleman over there. Anymore higher bid? Running once? Running twice? And we are sold!" Saad ng emcee. I'm quite curious on to why handang magbayad itong si Thark para sa isang lalake pero hinayaan ko nalang dahil badtrip padin ako sa nakita ko kanina.
I just took a drink on my wine. Masyadong mahina ang wine. Kailangan ko ng malakas na alak para mawala ang galit na nararamdaman ko ngayon.
"I can't do this now Thark. Uuwi na ako. Kailangan ko ng alak ngayon." Saad ko kay Thark. Pipigilan pa sana ako nito ngunit tumayo na ako sa aking kinauupuan.
"This boy here, is the son of one of a late billionaire during the year 1995." (Mahina ako sa math poh kaya di ko na kinuwenta pa ang edad ni au sa pagkamatay ng papa nya hehe) Dinig kong sabi ng emcee. Habang inaayos ko ang aking gamit at tumayo na. Tumayo narin si Thark.
"Wait ryuu kailangan natin munang kausapin ang isa sa mga event organizer nila para makuha natin ang binili natin." Saad nito.
Napabuntong hininga nalang ako at sabay namin tinungo ang lugar na pinaglalagyan ng mga event organizer.
"This boy is charming and most off all a virgin that is willing to do everything." Dinig kong saad ng emcee. Sumosobra talaga sila sa ginagawa nila sa mga walang kamuwang muwang na mahihirap.
Nilingon ko ang stage. At halos matuoad ako sa aking nakita. I-it can't be.
"He is Auster Brave Castero. Place your bid to this innocent young man!"
