Alex's POV
I wake up and I can tell this day is going to be bad I have Demi first period I sigh and get up from bed and head to the shower as I'm finished I dry my hair and curl it and put on my favorite outfit then my phone rings it was Perla I was kinda hoping it was Demi...Who am I kidding I wanted it to be Demi. I answer the phone and she says
"Hey Alex want us to pick you up and we can head to Starbucks before school."
"Yeah sure thanks! I really need starbucks right now see you in 5.?"
"Yeah can't wait and you sound happy today.? are you doing better from yesterday.?"
"Actually I'm worse I haven't felt this depressed in ages I miss her Perla I really do miss her it's not like her to act this way."
At this point my voice was shaking I couldn't even speak right but I managed to do it
"Well maybe she'll come around soon hey.? did you hear the news.?" Perla said
"No what news.?"
"Well Demi is getting a honor award on Friday since she saved you and they want you to say a speech and they said if you want to perform a song or something.?"
"Why the hell do I want to sing and a speech to go along with it I can already tell that this is going to be bad for the both of us."
"I know but we're standing by you okay.?" said Perla
"Thanks I don't know how I got you guys I'm here if you guys need anything." I said with a smile
"Well you saved my life and I love you for that so I'll see you in a bit."
We hang up and I go downstairs and kiss my parents goodbye and I grab my stuff and head out the door as I'm waiting I see someone walk up to Demi's doorstep she has black hair and is really skinny then all the thoughts came into my head "Is she Demi's new girlfriend.?" I sat down on my front porch and I had my shades on as I waited for Perla then I heard the girl say "What the fuck.?!?" "Demi What the hell.?!" then she goes inside and I hear nothing but muffled shouting I sigh and I wish Perla would hurry up faster. As I'm waiting the girl I saw earlier comes out looking frustrated then she notices me and walks up to me and says
"Are you Alex.?"
"Umm Yeah.? who are you.?" I said curiously
"I'm Selena Demi's Best Friend."she said
"Oh yeah...Can I help you with anything.?"I said
"No but I came to talk to you about Demi." she says
"Ummm Okay what's wrong with Demi that she couldn't come here to tell me herself."
"I see you're still hurt by this aren't you.?"she says
I sigh and take off my shades and say
"Yeah I am but it's over now and I still love her but she just quit on us like nothing."
"Don't say that right now Demi...Demi is I don't know how to say it but right now she's in deep bullshit right now." she said in a serious tone
"What do you mean.?" I say in a worried tone
"I can't tell you hear look give me your phone."she said
I give her my phone and she puts her number in and I give her my number.
"I'll text you and tell you what I know you're a very beautiful girl Alex I know Demi wouldn't do this she's just..I don't even know what's up with her."
"Thanks for the help and yeah I'll text you." I say
She walks away and Perla get's her and I get up and walk over to her car and all of my friends get out and hug me and they said "You're strong and she'll come around." they all said
"Damn girl you be looking sexy! said Jennifer
We all burst into laughter and we get in the car and drive off to Starbucks.
Demi's POV
I wake up and my eyes are still puffy from all that crying I get up and I take a shower and brush my hair and get dressed I walk in the kitchen to find Jasmine in the living room watching T.v she sees me and walks up to me and says.
"I made breakfast do you want any.?" she says in a smug tone
"No thanks I rather go to starbucks and eat better food than this."
She looks at me and pushes me against the fridge and let's go of me
"Fine be like that I guess I'll eat this myself since I only made a little bit."
then we hear a knock on the door I run to it and It was Selena. She looks at me and smiles but before she can say anything her smile fades when she sees Jasmine in the kitchen and she says
"What the fuck.?!? Demi What the hell.?!."
I pull her inside and Jasmine walks up to us and says
"Hey Selena long time no see."
"Fuck off Jasmine."
"Woah looks like somebody isn't in a good mood today I'll leave you guys to talk bye Demi." she says and kisses me on the cheek
I gave her a repulsive look and she walks away into the other room.
"I see you're still wearing Alex's jacket why the hell is Jasmine here how does Alex feel about this.!?!" she yells
"We b-broke up." I say
"Why Demi why did you leave someone who actually loved you and respected you why did you leave her when she almost died for you." she says
"I didn't have a fucking choice I still fucking miss her every night I sleep with her sweater and every night I can't stop thinking about her I'm missing half of my heart."
"You still love her Demi can't you fucking see that! when Jasmine kissed you just now you didn't want it your face made that clear but yet you leave Alex to get back with this fucking psycho bitch!."
"Selena I don't know anymore! I just don't fucking know I'm sorry!."
I'm sobbing and I feel her hug me and I hug back and I whisper in her ear
"I still love Alex but I'm doing this to protect her."
"Protect her from what Demi tell me." she says
Before I can say anything Jasmine walks out of the room and says
"Selena I think you should go Demi has to go to work bye Selena." she says with a smile
"Fuck you Jasmine." Selena says and walks away
I get up and dry my tears and I grab my stuff and head over to my car I look out the window and I see Selena walking away from Alex. Alex looked so beautiful today then I see a car pull up and all her friends jump out and hug her then they all started laughing and I see Alex's white smile again I smile when I see her smile but I notice she's still wearing her necklace I look at my necklace and I began to tear up. I drive off to Starbucks for some coffee and as I'm walking in I order what I usually get and sit down messing with my phone then I hear laughter behind me I turn around and it's Alex I hear the guy call her name and all of her friends name and they get up to grab their coffees Hailey notices me and she looks down and she whispers something in Jolene's ear and they push Alex out the door Alex has a confused expression on her face and then I hear that my order is done I get up and get my coffee and walk out the door then I hear Alex's voice and she say's
"Why did you guys push me out of there haha you almost made me drop my mocha frap." she said
They get in the car and drive off I decided to leave too, I'm right behind them since we are going the same route. I arrive at school and I'm already feeling the need to breakdown crying because I have Alex first period I sigh and I get today's lesson ready. The bell rings and everybody rushes inside Alex walks in with her group of friends all holding on to each other I wanted to laugh because it was so cute but then I realized we aren't together anymore I write on the bored and I put a Journal for them to write the topic was " What is one thing you wished you can have in the whole world." sounds stupid I know but I had nothing else to write as I'm sitting there I look at Alex she looked so damn beautiful today as their done with Journals I ask who would like to come up and Jennifer get's up and presents she says
"One thing I wished for in the whole world is to get a lap dance from Channing Tatum!."
the whole class laughs including me and I ask
"Okay Jennifer that was a good one alright pick somebody else to go up."
"Hmmmmm I pick Alex!."
My heart pounded hard she looked like she was going to have a heart attack she gets up and playfully punches Jennifer in the arm and she says
"One thing I wish I can have in the whole world was relive the greatest 4 months of my life again and also to travel the world with my best friends." she says
I feel the tears swelling in my eyes and I see her eyes water and she says
"I pick Hailey haha!"
I smile and I look over at Alex and she looks back at me I feel the tears coming and I see a tear fall from her face. As the day goes on I walk inside the music room waiting for the day to end then I hear a knock on the door it's Hailey, Jennifer Perla and Jolene but Alex isn't with them.
"Hey you guys what can I help you with.?"
"We know about you and Alex's relationship but don't worry your secret safe with us." Hailey said
"How did you guys know about this about us.?" I said
"Well I saw you guys kiss last time and that's when I knew but right now I don't know what happened between you two but Alex is falling apart and I know you are too." said Hailey
I sighed knowing I'm not doing great either I couldn't tell them the truth because I knew if Jasmine found out she would kill my family and Alex so I just said.
"I can't stop missing her I love her that much but I'm doing it to protect her."
"Protect her from what Demi.?" said Jolene
"Just from harm okay I can't really go into detail okay.?"
"Okay Demi we understand but we hope you guys get back together."
"Yeah me too hope to see you guys at the ceremony."
"We'll be there bye Demi." said Perla
*2 day's later Thursday Night*
Alex's POV
I get home and my phone vibrates and it's Selena
"Sorry for not texting you I've been with Demi she's a mess."
"It's fine I've been busy with this speech and song for the ceremony tomorrow honoring Demi for saving me."
"Really.?!? wow I'm going tomorrow Demi invited me so I'm pretty excited are you going to the after party.?"
"Yeah I am all my friends are going and I know Demi's going to be there so I just decided to just act normal I guess I miss her so much."
"She misses you too she still sleeps with your sweater you know.?"
"Really wow that means a lot I guess hey I'll text you later I gotta go to bed tomorrow is a big day see you later."
"Alright take care bye.!
*The Next day at The assembly*
Demi's POV
We're at the assembly and Selena, Hailey,Jennifer,Perla and Jolene are all sitting next to me as we wait for the ceremony to start I look around I whisper to Hailey
"Where's Alex.? she didn't show up.?"
Before she can say anything Principle Hobbs came out on stage and said.
"We're here to honor a brave teacher for saving the life of one of our brightest students her courageous acts not only saved Alexandra Johnson but also helped but a very dangerous person behind bars now here to present the award herself is Alexandra Johnson come on out Alexandra."
I see Alex walk out on stage with a black dress and heels and her hair was curled she looked damn hot and she began to speak
"Thank you I'm here today to present this award to Ms Lovato first of all I like to thank god for watching over us these past few weeks and the officers of Los Angeles for helping out in the search and for rescuing us. Ms Lovato bravely came to my rescue and she helped me survive without her courageous act I would not have been standing in front of you all today we're all lucky to have her in our lives and I'm honored to give this award to her Ms Lovato we l-love you so much and we're deeply honored to have you here as our teacher but most important as our friend."
I felt the tears rushing down my face I get up and get a standing ovation from the crowd and I receive my plaque for Alex I take a picture side by side with Alex and Wilmer shakes our hands then Mr Hobbs said
"Also Ms Lovato We asked Alex if she would like to perform a song for you in your honor Alex.? would you like to begin.?"
My heart was skipping a beat Alex was going to sing for me I didn't know what to do but she gets a microphone and she says before she sings
"I hope you all like this song it's a special message for someone that I loved so much."
then she begins to sing and I let my tears fall.
