Swinging I grabbed the rail that I noticed underneath the platforms.
The 'flag' is made of some tear resistant material and there are no support bars on the rail.
They really made this too easy.
Holding on with one hand, I threaded the flag through the opening.
Grabbing both ends of the flag, I twisted my hands into it.
"Look out below!" I slid down fast.
Almost as fast as me towards blue cookies.
Almost.
Everyone scattered away from my landing zone. Smart.
Tuck and roll. Then pop up.
I remembered the training I had to do for fighting with Blackjack.
I wonder how he is. I think he's probably bothering everyone with donuts. Probably glazed caramel mocha donuts. Or chocolate with sprinkles.
ADHD!
Following my training I landed unharmed. Well I might have reopened my stomach wound but its not that bad.
"That. Was. Awesome!" Wanda yelled before fussing over my injury.
Gods she's worse than Will.
"How did you? Only Natasha has completed that!" Clint yelled.
Vision was standing nearby a thoughtful look on his face.
"What?" I asked him.
"It appears that you have received training. Where would you have received training that enables you to perform on the same level of a master assassin?"
Schist.
"My family has a lot of enemies. All of us kids have to train so we can have a chance of survival. Plus I went to a summer camp that teaches self-defense." Hey that's actually true!
"That doesn't seem to match the amount of training and experience you have though."
"Can we just go to sleep? Its like ten at night." I looked at the digital clock, struggling with my dyslexia.
"I guess we will finish this in the morning then we'll see about getting you being homeschooled with Wanda." School. Great.
Not like I can ask for my lessons in Ancient Greek. Well I can but... That's not a normal request.
"Okay." I turned and walked towards Wanda's room, being followed by her.
She unlocked the door and let me in.
Someone had delivered a sleeping bag for me. Crawling in, I looked at Wanda who walked out of the connected bathroom in red pajamas.
"Wanda. If I'm stuck in a nightmare do not touch me. Do not. You'll just get hurt. You just have to let it finish."
She nodded.
"Night Percy." Jarvis, I guess turned off the lights."
"Night Wanda." I closed my eyes and drifted off to a peaceful sleep.
Not.
"You could have saved us." Piper kicked my stomach.
"I can't believe I looked up to you." Leo spat.
"I'm sorry." I mumbled curling up on myself.
"You should have died instead." Hazel slapped me.
"How were you praetor? You couldn't even save us!" Jason electrocuted me.
"How could have I ever trusted you?" Frank kicked me in the back.
"I never loved you. You are worthless. I wish you would have died instead of Luke." Andrew's words hurt me more than the stab he delivered.
"I'm sorry guys. I could have saved you." I sobbed.
They kept hurling insults at me but someone I never expected to see again walked in.
Smelly Gabe.
"Well looky here. We got us a no good disobedient kid. Maybe we need to whip you into shape." A belt appeared in his hand and he started whipping me.
All while the rest of the Seven told me I was worthless. That I should have died.
And I should have. But my dad saved me.
I didn't give him the satisfaction of hearing me scream up until number one eight three.
I screamed until my throat was raw. And Gabe laughed.
He laughed.
I curled up even tighter and cried softly.
They're right. I should just give up. I should just die.
I should just jump off the roof of this building.
No. I'm going to be strong. I'm going to live. I'm not going to let this happen to anyone else.
Not if I can help it.
"Percy! Wake up!" Wanda's voice cut through my nightmare.
Waking, I shot up to a sitting position.
After yawning I saw the Avengers staring at me.
"What's up?" I asked.
"You were screaming." Oh, I thought I was writing poetry.
"Nightmare, Stark. Nightmare."
"Well I'm going back to bed." He walked out dramatically.
I swear him and Nick are Zeus Juniors.
"What time is it?" It better be past midnight. I won't be able to fall back asleep.
"Five thirty seven." Wanda read off her clock.
"Well, that's not too bad. What are we doing today?" Please be binge watching Disney movies.
"Seeing what you can do with weapons." Natasha walked out.
"I guess we're doing weaponry at five in the morning." I followed Natasha back to the gym but off to one side where there were targets.
"How are you with guns?" She didn't look at me.
"Don't know. But I can't shoot straight." Chiron kinda exempted me from archery.
I don't think he wanted to lose a leg.
"Okay how about we try archery first then. Clint!"
Said archer came in with his bow.
He grabbed a bow off of the rack and handed it to me.
"This is how you shoot it." He shot an arrow and shot.
Bullseye.
"You might want to move. Like fifty feet away from me." Clint didn't move though, probably to correct my form.
Wait why would he correct it?
Taking a breath I drew the bow.
I notched the arrow, aimed, and released.
"Fuck!" Clint yelled as the arrow landed between his feet.
"Language!" Steve yelled.
Laughing silently I pulled the arrow out of the padding on the floor.
I guess its to be for more difficult shooting conditions.
"Never giving you a gun." Natasha said.
"Good choice."
"How did you-? I'm giving you archery lessons!" Clint exclaimed.
"That's not a good idea. My two older cousins have tried to teach me. So has Thalia. And my archery teacher almost lost a leg due to me. So yeah. Not a good idea."
"Noted."
"What other weapons do you use?" Steve asked me.
"Um. I can use a dagger pretty well. I am decent with most melee weapons." Swords, on occasion spears.
"Okay then. We don't have anyone on hand willing to risk bodily harm. I would say to do hand to hand but you already beat me."
"Hey I'm leaving!" Clint yelled walking out.
"Say hi!" Natasha yelled.
"Okay!"
"Now for schooling. We arranged for you to take lessons alongside Wanda."
"Who are the teachers?" I asked. I would be okay with Chiron pretending to be a Latin teacher again.
"We've got Math with Tony. Then there's English with Natasha. Computer with Vision. Steve does American History. Then we have Vision again for Greek and Roman Mythology."
"Then we have Marine Bio with Mr. Nodiesop. But just call him Mr. N."
This is going to be fun. Especially with Marine Bio.
I have a feeling that I know this teacher especially well.
Okay I'm a bit ticked.
I have some drafts for some stories I may want to write. So I have these.
Then I get on them and I find chapters from my other books in them.
And I can't get them back. It makes me soooo mad.
I mean like it takes me a while to write these things and for them to just get deleted. Ugh!
