It had been one week since Klaus moved Eira to the Abattoir in the French Quarter. She had to adjust to the different hallways and the different rooms but in a week's time, she knew where everything was.

Kol had been allowed to move into the compound since he didn't do anything. Elijah and Rebekah still lived at the plantation house. Stefan came to visit Eira since he was staying with Rebekah, obviously. But Eira got Damon to come stay at the compound and move out of his apartment. So, she had Damon with her.

Eira was staying in the same room as Klaus although she was reluctant, he convinced her by telling her she was safer being in his room. She had shook her head at that, but she agreed. It was mostly she just didn't want to spend another moment apart from him.

Eira hadn't been introduced to any of the vampires yet. Klaus kept her in the room or the library all day, just warding off those areas. The vampires were only allowed to roam the courtyard, the square in the middle of the compound. But all the vampires were curious to the new smell in the compound. The smell was overwhelming and tantalizing, delicious.

Klaus had organized a gathering of the vampires. Klaus requested that Eira be there and she, of course, was not going to let him down. There was a table set up in the courtyard. Marcel and his closest vampire friends were invited and they were seated at the table. Kol was seated next to Klaus on one side with Marcel at the other. There were three empty seats at the other side of the table for each of the Salvatore siblings.

Eira was running late, though. She had gotten ready, and right after that, she had morning sickness. Her brothers were with her, waiting for her until the nausea passed. Damon and Stefan took turns holding her hair away from her face.

The nausea had finally passed and she went downstairs with her brothers following her to the courtyard where the gathering of vampires awaited. She got down the stairs, noticing everyone was in their seats already.

All eyes turned to her as she entered the courtyard. The vampires' eyes examined her brothers but stayed trained on her. If she could be invisible, she would.

But the vampires were in simply in awe of her. She looked like an angel that stepped out of grace with her pure, white hair that flowed around her face like a halo. She was wearing a light grey, airy dress that flowed around her, making her look like a goddess. Eira's skin was glowing, due to her pregnancy. Pregnancy naturally increased blood volume, so it increased blood flow to the skin, giving Eira a lovely, healthy glow. Plus, pregnancy hormones made the skin produce more oil, adding on to the glow. Not to mention, every vampire in the room craved her blood, only adding to the appeal.

Kol was trying not to snicker at all the dumb-founded looks in the room. Even Klaus was staring, he thought she was the most beautiful thing in the world. Marcel was staring, thinking she was beautiful, but wondering who she was.

Eira got to the end of the table where the empty chairs were and she squeaked out, "Sorry."

"We had a little problem this morning," Stefan spoke, but it was more addressed to Klaus.

Damon pulled out her chair at the end and she sat down, mouthing a silent thank you, not wanting to make any noise with all the eyes on her. Her brothers sat next to her and she avoided looking at anyone. She didn't like stares.

"It's alright, love," Klaus said, making her look up at him. His words giving her the slightest bit of comfort to ease her nerves.

Klaus stood up, tapping his fork against his glass, getting the attention away from her. Klaus started his speech to get the vampires on his side after taking New Orleans from Marcel.

"Let us begin with a toast to our shared gift: immortality. After a thousand years, one might expect life to be less keenly felt, for its beauties and its sorrows do diminish with time. But, as vampires, we feel more deeply than humans could possibly imagine," Klaus started and gestured for the humans he compelled to come forward. They were all dressed in tuxedos like expensive waiters.

"Insatiable need, exquisite pain...," Klaus said and the compelled waiters slit their wrists and held them over the bowls in front of everyone. Eira, of course, didn't have waiters doing that next to her because she was not a vampire. "Our victories, and our defeats."

His last words reminded Eira of what Klaus told her what happened with Marcel. Marcel had attempted to subdue him which she was not happy about. She already didn't like Marcel, he had hurt Klaus and that was not okay with Eira. She was being a protective lover and she honestly didn't even know why Klaus kept him around. Eira was just bitter towards anyone who attempted to hurt Klaus.

Klaus raised his glass, "To my city, my home again. May the blood never cease to flow."

"And the party never end," Marcel raised his glass, making Eira roll her eyes.

Diego, then raised his glass, toasting to New Orleans and everyone else raised their glass as well, saying the same. The Salvatore brothers raised their glasses, but Eira didn't. She couldn't drink alcohol so she didn't see the point. After everyone toasted, Klaus put down his glass.

"I understand that some of you may have questions regarding the recent change in leadership, and I invited you here tonight to assure you that you are not defeated. No, my intentions moving forward are to celebrate what we have. What Marcel, in fact, took and built for this true community of vampires," Klaus addressed issues.

Diego interrupted him, though, pointing at Eira, since she wasn't a vampire, "What about her? The human?"

"And what about the two new vampires?" Diego questioned again.

"Had you'd let me finish, Diego, you would know that there is, of course, one further matter I would like to address," Klaus walked around the table until he was standing behind Eira's chair. "Many of you have been wondering about the tantalizing scent while walking the courtyard. I would like to introduce you to Mother Nature."

Murmurs erupted between the vampires and Klaus spoke again, quieting them, "Her name is Eira. She is my girlfriend who is carrying my unborn children. I trust you will all pay her the appropriate respect."

He gestured with his hand towards Damon and Stefan, "They are her two vampire brothers."

"Now, I understand that there is rumor that I intend to create hybrids. Eira's blood along with my unborn children's is the key to creating hybrids. But I assure I do not intend to create any," Klaus put his hands on Eira's shoulders. "So, we'll eliminate the root of your anxiety. You see, how can I sire any hybrids if there are no more werewolves alive in the Bayou to turn?"

Eira's eyes widened in alarm, worried about Hayley in the Bayou. She also didn't want anything to happen to the werewolves, especially if she was supposed to be some type of ruler to them. She still hadn't read the book yet.

"So-- eat, drink, and be merry. And, tomorrow, I suggest you have yourselves a little wolf hunt. Go ahead, have fun. Kill them all!" Klaus exclaimed and then Eira got out of her seat, frustrated.

The whole vampire gathering was over and Klaus was in one of the many rooms of the Abattoir. Eira was with him, completely angry at him.

"What is wrong with you? You don't kill the innocent werewolves because you're mad at Elijah," Eira lectured him.

"I've killed many innocent people through the years. Killing this lot won't bother me," Klaus smirked and Eira whacked him upside the head. Klaus looked at her in surprise.

"Hayley is in the Bayou. She's my friend and I care about the werewolves. You're a werewolf, you should feel sympathetic," Eira lectured, again.

Klaus took a step away from her in her anger and held his hands up in defense, "Well, if I'd known you'd get this angry. I certainly would've thought about ordering their deaths a bit more."

"Call it off. Tell the vampires they can't hunt the werewolves," Eira demanded.

"I can't do that now. It makes me look like I'm showing mercy. Like I might want to create hybrids," Klaus explained and Eira huffed, crossing her arms.

Marcel walked into the room, noticing the angry look on Eira's face and the frustrated one on Klaus's. He quickly stopped and went to turn around. Eira noticed him, though, and in her angry mood, she did something very drastic.

"Now, you," Eira pointed at Marcel. "I am very angry at you."

"Me? What did I do?" Marcel pointed at himself, incredulously.

Small vines came out of the ground and wrapped around Marcel's legs, breaking them in half. He was forced to kneel to ground in pain. He couldn't heal though as the vines kept them broken.

"You attempted to subdue Klaus. You hurt him. You had your little vampires physically hurt him. That is not okay. The next time you do something like that, I won't be so kind," Eira snapped in anger and the wind picked up around Marcel only and blew so harshly that it snapped his neck. The small little vines went away and Eira walked away, out of the room.

Klaus looked on in shock and it took him a moment to register that she was leaving the room. He hurried after her, talking to her as she walked in the hallway.

"What was that little anger spree?" Klaus questioned.

Eira crossed her arms and defended, "You're being too nice to him. He tried to hurt you."

Klaus smirked, "Did I tell you that it's very appealing when you get angry and defend me?"

Eira stopped and Klaus almost ran into her. She turned around with a serious look on her face. She uncrossed her arms and her serious look soon melted as a blush crossed her cheeks.

"I'm still mad at you," Eira said, biting her lip.

Klaus put his hands on the side of her face, "You're cute when you're angry."

Eira rolled her eyes and she leaned in towards him, making his breath catch in his throat. She just kissed his cheek, toying with him.

"I love your flattery, but it's not getting you anywhere," Eira whispered, close to his lips, making him swallow.

Eira turned around and walked away from him, making him watch after her as she walked away. He took a deep breathe in, trying to shake away the effect her presence had on him.

   ________________________

Eira walked through the courtyard, turning a corner and almost running into the vampire, Diego. Eira jumped, a little startled.

   "Going somewhere?" Diego asked.

Diego was then thrown into the wall, getting knocked unconscious. Elijah was revealed to be the one who had done the act. Elijah came to see Eira, and make sure she was safe around the vampires he thought of as incompetent.

"Elijah," Eira stated in surprise. "You shouldn't be here. Klaus wouldn't like it."

Two more vampires were thrown out behind Eira, knocked unconscious. Eira looked behind her in surprise as she saw Rebekah come around the corner.

"Come, we mustn't linger. We'll get you some place safe," Elijah stated.

"No, no. I don't need protection. Klaus told the vampires not to harm me. And I wouldn't leave Klaus, but," Eira shook her head, getting back to point she was trying to make. "Klaus ordered the vampires to hunt the werewolves. He's trying to prove he doesn't want to make hybrids. But they shouldn't be harmed. Please, will you help them?"

Eira's eyes switched between the both of them, pleading with them. Rebekah spoke incredulously, "Out in the Bayou? Do we look like a bloody vampire-rescue-squad? I think you should be grateful we came to save you!"

"But their innocent and I'm supposed to be protecting them, at least, I think. And Hayley's out there, trying to break the sire bond," Eira pleaded. "If you want to help me, then help the werewolves."

Eira looked the most at Elijah, pleading with him. She trusted him the most, except Klaus. He was also the only one that knew about her finding out she had some past history with werewolves or other Mother Nature's did.

Elijah sighed, "We'll make sure the werewolves aren't harmed."

Rebekah rolled her eyes at the soft spot Elijah had for the girl. Now she was dragged into this as well. But she would help Elijah. Eira smiled and said her thanks to the both of them.

   _______________________

Klaus sat on the couch, awaiting for Marcel to wake up. When Marcel groaned and moved a bit, Klaus smirked. Marcel lifted himself up and sat himself on the couch across from Klaus. Marcel glared at him.

"Your girlfriend is harsh," Marcel said, rubbing his neck.

"She gets defensive. You should probably stay from her," Klaus said.

"Got it. Nature girlfriend, off limits. That I can definitely do," Marcel replied, not wanting to go near her again. "But now that your girlfriend's anger is over, back to business. The humans have called a meeting. They're not exactly thrilled with the new status quo."

"How unfortunate for them," Klaus stated.

"Look, it's your show now. But, you wanna know how I built what I built? Politics. A little diplomacy goes a long way, especially with the human faction," Marcel advised.

Klaus took the advisement into consideration. He then proceeded to confess to Marcel all the falsehoods that had happened: Thierry was never disloyal and he could return to the compound when Marcel wanted, Camille was compelled, Joshua was also compelled but Marcel knew that. Klaus wanted Davina to move into the compound because she was a powerful weapon, revealing that Davina made a deal with Elijah to stay put in the attic of St. Anne's Church. Marcel appreciated the honesty and told Klaus the human faction meeting was in an hour.

   ____________________

Marcel and Klaus went to visit Davina right before the human faction meeting, telling her she was moving into the compound. Davina was hesitant but she knew she was going to meet Eira, Mother Nature, and she was excited to meet her since she'd been told stories about her growing up.

Marcel and Klaus then attended the meeting and the human faction was a bunch of arrogant jerks except Father Kieran. It angered Klaus and so he angered the faction by telling them he would give them whatever scraps he saw fit to give them.

Marcel and Klaus left, going to some bar. The human faction retaliated and fired bullets through the place, breaking the windows and letting sunlight in. Some of the nightwalkers died and Marcel was shot, but he lived.

Marcel and Klaus got revenge against the human faction by killing them all except Father Kieran. Kieran was assigned to remake the faction.

The two of them walked back into the compound with blood all over their clothes from killing the human faction. Klaus drank from a flask.

"To our united front! This act of yours, the imitation of friendship. Don't get me wrong, you played the part well enough-- I should know, having played it myself. There was a time when the affinity between us was quite real," Klaus said.

"Sure. And then you got it in your head to take what I created. When I picked up that coin, I swore loyalty, Klaus, not friendship. I'm holding up my end. The other one has to be earned," Marcel replied.

"Fair enough. Then, you should probably know the whole story. My decision was not entirely my own. If I didn't agree to usurp your power, the witches swore to kill Eira," Klaus confessed. "Her safety is my number one priority."

"All this-- the spying, the manipulation-- that's just something you were forced into. Is that it? And what now? You feel kinda bad... 'Hey buddy, it's nothing personal.' Is that it?" Marcel questioned.

"I admit, I was jealous. I saw the empire you had created on your own, without me. I saw it, and I wanted it," Klaus admitted.

"You're wrong, you know. I didn't do it on my own. I stood in the shadow of my father my entire human life, and I never would've gotten out from under it, if not for you. You're the one who taught me that a man can't be defined by anyone but himself," Marcel paused before continuing. "So, what now?"

"This community that you've built-- you have their respect. Their love. I could rule them, but I cannot win them, not without you. So, rule with me. Side by side as equals. Friends. Brothers," Klaus offered Marcel the flask.

After a moment, Marcel smiled and took the flask, drinking from it, agreeing with Klaus to rule beside him. Klaus smiled as well that he got Marcel on his side.

Like Eira asked, Elijah went with Rebekah to make sure the werewolves were safe from the vampires hunting them. In the process, they learned that new werewolves were coming into the Bayou wanting to see Eira and her miracle babies. Elijah and Rebekah had saved those werewolves as well, finding out it was werewolf pack descended of Klaus's bloodline.

    _______________________

Eira had been reading that book that Eve, the werewolf, gave to her with her brothers. It was above all, interesting. It gave the history of all the Mother Nature's that came before Eira.

Eira had just finished reading the book when Kol wanted her attention. He pulled her along with him, through the hallways.

"Where are we going?" Eira asked.

"This one girl has been dying to see you. And, well, I sort of want impress her," Kol admitted and Eira smiled.

  "You mean, Davina?" Eira asked.

   "Yes," Kol answered.

"You know, I never thanked you for getting Davina to break the link between Sophie and I," Eira started. "So, thank you."

"I owed you, anyway, Eira," Kol replied. "I kind of had to."

Kol directed her to a room where Davina was. When they got there, Davina was going through boxes, looking for something.

Davina immediately looked up once they entered her room, feeling Eira's presence. Davina looked at her with wide eyes and she stood up with a smile on her face.

   "Hi," Davina squeaked out.

"Someone told me you wanted to meet me," Eira looked at Kol and then back to Davina. "So, I'll properly introduce myself. I'm Eira."

"Yeah, I did want to meet you. You were in every one of my bedtime stories that I was told," Davina said, nervously like she was meeting a celebrity.

"It's a pleasure to meet you, Davina. You did save my life. If there's anything I can do for you, I will," Eira said, truthfully.

Davina looked momentarily speechless and Kol chuckled. Eira spoke again, "Are you settling in well? You must like having your freedom back."

"But I have to stay in the compound. There's still a witch elder," Davina said.

Eira crinkled her forehead in confusion, "If you mean Agnes, she's dead. Elijah killed her."

"What? No. Marcel would've told me," Davina shook her head, not wanting to believe it. She trusted him.

"Davina, I don't know much about Marcel. You should probably just talk to him before you assume anything," Eira advised.

"Yeah. Yeah, maybe," Davina said in sadness.

Eira went over and hugged Davina, wanting to wipe away the young girl's sadness. Davina was shocked that she was hugging Mother Nature, that made her smile.

Eira pulled away and looked at the young girl, "It'll be okay, Davina."

"Thanks," Davina stated and Eira smiled.

Eira took her leave and left the young girl with Kol. On her way out, she passed the newbie vampire Josh. He looked a little freaked to get noticed by somebody. Eira just smiled at him, telling him it was okay and went past him.

   ____________________

Eira went to see Klaus, finding him in a study. He was reading a book and he looked up at her once she walked in. Eira fumbled with her hands nervously.

"What did you do?" Klaus asked.

Eira sighed, "I'm not going to apologize for it. But I had Elijah and Rebekah go stop the werewolf hunt you ordered."

Klaus stood up and rolled his eyes, "Of course you did."

"They're innocent. Not to mention, I have complete ruling order over the werewolves," Eira revealed.

   "What?" Klaus asked, confused.

"When I went to heal Elijah, there was this werewolf. Her name was Eve. She gave me this book. And well, it explained everything for me," Eira explained. "The witches, the werewolves. I'm supposed to rule them all, or, at least, sort of."

"Really?" Klaus questioned, amused, with a smirk on his face. "So, does that mean you're supposed to reign over me and tell me what to do?"

Eira smiled and a blush covered her cheeks, "No, you're part vampire. You don't count. At least, I don't think so."

Klaus took a step closer to her and put his hands on the side of her face, "You already rule me. You could have anything you wanted if you truly asked."

"So, what about this morning? You didn't call off the werewolf hunt when I asked you to," Eira put her hands on her hips.

"I made that decision in concern for your safety. The less werewolves, the less desire to kill you to keep you from making hybrids," Klaus explained. "And I may have been too hasty in my decision."

Klaus pulled her hands away from her hips and held them. He looked at her pleadingly, "When are you going to let me kiss you?"

"When you earn it," Eira answered and walked away from him. Klaus sighed, aggravated.

    ___________________

Klaus waited at the plantation house for his two siblings to walk through the door. He was playing the piano in his wait.

"I stink of the bog!" Rebekah called out to Elijah once she walked through the front door, not noticing Klaus yet.

"Serves you right, for your attempt to undermine my rule," Klaus said, making his siblings take notice of him. "But that doesn't matter anymore. Eira convinced me not to kill the werewolves."

"I'm surprised you even listened to her," Elijah commented.

"You're surprised every time I listen to her," Klaus rolled his eyes.

"Nik, we're trying to make amends," Rebekah said and Elijah threw Klaus a ring.

"Do you recognize it? Perhaps you don't. It has been a thousand years since you last saw it grace the hand of our mother. The ring was in possession of one of the very wolves whose extinction you just ordered. So, naturally, I questioned him. He spoke of a legend. A legend wherein long ago, a chief of theirs had fathered a child to a very powerful witch. Their mythology further states that this child, a son, was later transformed into something this clan had never before seen. Something werewolf and vampire," Elijah explained.

"We found remnants of your family. The bloodline of your true father. And we saved them from being slaughtered at the hands of the vampires you command," Rebekah added.

"Niklaus, your ambitions have come before this family for far too long. Niklaus, I beseech you please, come home," Elijah pleaded.

"What home? This pathetic substitute? You see, despite all your doubts, all you attempts to thwart me, I've reclaimed our true home. I took back the entire city," Klaus boasted and then he stood up, setting the ring on the piano. "And I don't need family, I have Eira. At least, she stands by me."

Klaus left, bumping into Elijah's shoulder on the way out. Klaus was not going to forgive his siblings until Elijah apologized for his accusations. Klaus then went to Father Kieran to have the human faction to help the werewolves from being hunted by the vampires he ordered to kill them. Klaus couldn't have the vampires finding out he was protecting the werewolves. Father Kieran agreed on the condition he compelled Camille to leave town. Klaus compelled her without a second thought.

    ____________________

Eira was standing on a balcony looking at New Orleans with the night sky shining over it. The wind whipped next to her and Elijah appeared on the balcony.

"They're safe like you asked," Elijah told her.

Eira smiled and she went over to Elijah, hugging him. Elijah was surprised by her hug, but nonetheless hugged her back.

"Thank you," Eira pulled away. "You're a great best friend, Elijah."

"And here I thought that Katerina was your best friend," Elijah stated, amused. "Was I wrong?"

"I can have multiple best friends, Elijah. You just happen to be one of them," Eira said.

Elijah smiled, "And as your 'best friend', are you going to tell me what you found out in the book Eve gave to you?"

AN: Religious people, don't get mad at me.

Eira wrapped her arms around herself, "Well, it's interesting. There were multiple Mother Nature's before me. The first is the one that made werewolves so connected with Mother Nature."

"The first was Eve, as in Adam and Eve," Eira revealed and Elijah listened. "Eve was the first Mother Nature. In the Garden of Eden, she had followers, called witches. One of them, who was like a serpent, wanted Eve's power. The apple that Eve was manipulated to eat from the Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil was poison. Eve ate it and died. The witch started the emotion called greed."

"The witch tried to harness Eve's power, not knowing that Mother Nature's power can never be taken, only given," Eira explained. "Eve was most loved by Nature. So, Nature brought her back to life. Eve cursed the witches and ran away from the Garden of Eden with her lover, Adam, who was a werewolf. They lived among his pack and because of Adam, that is why Mother Nature rules over werewolves."

"Eve's curse made it so each Mother Nature had a hard time trusting witches. Causing Mother Nature to always be torn between werewolves and witches, which loyalty to pick."

"Each century after Eve had passed on, Mother Nature was always born into a witch family. But greed was always a problem. The Mother Nature's would always get too power hungry and be stripped of their powers."

"After centuries, Mother Nature was finally born into a werewolf family and a werewolf family it stayed. It was fine for awhile, but greed again became the issue. The last Mother Nature before me killed her whole werewolf pack hoping to harness more power from their deaths, Nature killed her by morning."

"The last Mother Nature was in 1770. There was so much greed that there was no more Mother Nature's being born. There were prophecies for a decade after that, that another would come along and be just as loved as Eve. That this Mother Nature would be better than the rest because she would be human and know human weaknesses before getting all these acquired powers."

"And so in 1864, a spell connected me to Nature making me Mother Nature. I was the first not to be born with powers. And then I was in a deep slumber for 149 years, and every witch has awaited my return along with the werewolves," Eira finished.

"Well, I'm surprised I've never met one of you before," Elijah stated.

"They were very well hidden in their witch or werewolf communities. You would have never found them," Eira explained.

"So, Klaus is supposed to be your Adam?" Elijah teased.

"Be quiet," Eira shook her head. "You still need to apologize to him. You're not going to get anywhere with him until you do."

     "I'm well aware," Elijah said.

"Well, then, what are you waiting for?" Eira asked.

Elijah shook his head but he vamp sped away to go apologize to Klaus. He was planning on apologizing, anyway. Eira just forced him to say it earlier. Klaus was going up the stairs of the compound when he stopped.

"Haven't you had your fill of telling me all the ways I've disappointed you, Elijah?" Klaus questioned.

"Well, there is something important we neglected to discuss. I accused you of having ulterior motives regarding Eira and your unborn children. I was wrong. I'm sorry," Elijah apologized, sincerely.

"I imagine that must have been hard for you to say," Klaus commented.

"You don't make it easy to love you, brother," Elijah admitted. "But Eira does. I was being vague with you about how I cared for her. I don't have feelings for her, Niklaus. But I do care for her, because she cares for you. She makes you care."

"When you're ready, should you be so inclined, both you and Rebekah are welcome to join me here. It is, after all, our family home," Klaus invited and walked up the stairs again, leaving Elijah standing in the courtyard.

Eira was sitting on the bed in her shared bedroom with Klaus. She had the book Eve gave her in her lap. Klaus came into the bedroom and he looked at her, noticing the book.

Klaus came over to her and Eira held the book out to him, "I already explained everything in this book to Elijah. I don't feel like doing it twice, so, you can just read this."

Klaus took the book and flipped through the pages before setting it down on the dresser. He came back over to her and put his hands next to her on the bed, pinning her in that spot.

"The werewolves will be safe from any further harm. I made sure of it," Klaus explained. "But right now, I just want to kiss my beautiful girlfriend."

"What makes you think I'm going to allow you to?" Eira asked with a smile.

Klaus was at a loss for words, but he eventually spoke, "I'm hoping you'll take pity on me. Just this once because your torturing me."

"It's complete and utter torture," Klaus complained and pouted.

Eira grabbed his hands resting beside her, holding them. She slowly leaned forward and pressed her lips to his. Klaus melted into the kiss. It was a slow kiss but turned more feverish as Klaus climbed on the bed and she laid down as he hovered over her. He kept his hands entangled with hers and he kissed her until they both fell asleep.

Author's Note: Yeah, I know the Salvatore brothers were barely in this chapter. It was kind of like behind the scenes. They're there, Eira does see them, I just don't really say it.

I hope Eira's meet with Davina made you guys happy. A lot of you have been excited for that.

I'm gonna be able to write episode 10 this weekend. I'm so freaking excited. Like omg.
