I woke up in a hospital bed all alone. I sat up straight away and seen I wasn't attached to anything. I got off the bed, the coldness meeting my skin. I walked to the floor wondering why I was here. But before I could open the door, the door opened for me.
"Julieta, your okay." Cory said.
"What happened?" I asked confused. I didn't remember anything. I felt like if I was asleep for a long time and just woke up. Not remembering what happened or why you were in a hospital.
"You fainted." He mumbled. "Matthew is awake."
My eyes brightened. This is what I've been waiting for for so long. "What? Really? Is he okay? What did the doctor say? When will he be able to go home?"
Cory laughed. "Juli, one question at a time. I'll answer them all later but I was sent here for a reason." He said. "Matthew wants to see you."
"Okay." I followed Cory to the room Matthew was in. Rachel and Brandon wasn't there. They probably went out to get some real food. Now that Rachel knows Matthews okay.
Matthew didn't hear us walk in. "Hey you." I said when I seen Matthew. He looked up and smiled.
"Your okay." He mumbled.
"Yeah, I'm fine." I walked up to him nervously. I don't know why I was nervous. There was nothing to be nervous about. It was Matthew. I kept my head down and played with my hands. "How are you?"
I didn't look up at him. I kept my head down. I refused to look Matthew's in the eyes. Not after what he did. Not after what he and I went through. Not after I went through when he wouldn't wake up. "I'm fine too."
He put his hand over mine. They were cold. Really cold. "Your hands are cold." I said. He nodded. He already knew. I just didn't know what to say.
"I'm sorry." I finally said.
"For what? You didn't do anything." He pushed my hair away from my face. "If anybody should be sorry, it should be me. What I did was wrong--"
"I don't care about that anymore." i mumbled. "I'm just glad your okay."
"Julieta, when you left I felt dumb and stupid. I let the most amazing girl leave and I didn't bother fighting for her. And she left because I made her leave."
I didn't say anything. We looked at each other for a long time. "Julieta," He whispered. "I love you."
