jimin had his back against the hospital bed, his shoulders still hurting from the actions he had just committed. of course he knew what he did was wrong, but it was all in the spur of the moment and it was too late to go all back at this point. the things he did to hoseok was something he can't erase, even if he had tried to repress it, the years of hatred and sorrow would still consume him.

his head turned and looked above him onto the bland white ceiling, his eyes having no life in them as they were dulled out. his natural brown eyes looked dead and it were as if he were just done with the world.

jimin's lip stopped bleeding but it left a burgundy cut on his plump lips, a small scratch could be found on the top of his cheek bone just beneath his eye. although he had hospital clothes on, his shoulders were bruised badly so moving his arms would be too much pressure for his small stature.

the only evident thing besides his face and body were his small hands. each knuckle had tiny lines of dried up scars on them, some of his nails had been scratched by the hard concrete stairs.

although he knew that it were simple stairs, he knew the material it was made of could've been really fatal. the thought of his head possibly bashing open made him nauseous.

but the one question that had been stuck in his head the whole time was, why on earth did he save hoseok from the fall?

or atleast attempted to.

that thought hadn't left his mind during the whole time it happened. maybe it was on impulse? maybe when he saw you and saw how scared you were, he wanted to be the hero of your story for once.

despite the fact that jimin had done so many terrible things to hoseok, despite losing his best friend jungkook, and despite already knowing that you weren't going to love him, all the times he spent with you as a couple were enough to make him feel happy since he was so in love with you.

he just simply longed to feel loved by you, even if it was for a short time being.

jimin remembered those times where he would catch you staring at him in class, those times where you two would cuddle and talk about things, and not to mention the very day where you agreed to be his and shared a passionate kiss.

jimin snickered to himself as he stared down at his own hands, "those lips weren't mine to kiss.."

he felt his hot and heavy tears dripping from his soulless eyes, his breath hitching as he tried to stop crying. "because i had stolen them."

jimin ended up crying silently on the hospital bed, of course he was torn between loving you forever and trying his hardest to get you, or drop everything and lose you to hoseok. the decision was his, but since he told jungkook of him having no morals, would he really make the right choice?

he felt himself breaking down, and he hated every second of it, because during this whole he was crying, he knew it was because his conscious was tired of all those lies and plans he made.

it was if he was crying for hoseok's forgiveness.

a sudden knock came from his side and jimin immediately turned his head towards the door. jungkook was standing next to the open door, leaning on the side as he had knocked on the perimeters of it. jimin gulped and wiped his stuffy nose as he made eye contact with the deadpanned looking friend.

"j-jungkook," jimin sniffled.

jungkook wanted so very badly to yell at him and tell him how horrible he was, but seeing jimin at a state like that shocked him. he didn't think he would be crying nor looked the slightest bit regretful. he knows the actions jimin caused were unfair, but he knows his best friend like the back of his hand.

and right now he knew jimin was sorry.

jungkook put on a lop-sided smile as he closed the door behind him and stood in front of jimin. "you know jimin, when i said you were going to have to fight your own battles, this isn't what i meant."

jimin huffed a sad smile as his tears were still falling, "i didn't plan on it either."

"jimin," jungkook sighed, "about what happened-"

"i'm sorry, jungkook," jimin confessed in an instant, "i shouldn't have made you go through these things with me.."

jungkook eye's widened at jimin's words, he was astonished over the fact that he was finally apologizing. so he did the best thing to do, he stood there and listened to everything jimin wanted to say.

"i never should've yelled at you and pushed you around like that, i never should've ignored your advice and treat you like shit." jimin swallowed, his throat feeling dry from the emotions pouring out of him, "some best friend i am, huh?"

jungkook was about to say something but jimin shook his head and covered the side of his face with his bruised hand.

"you deserve a better friend, and not someone like me. if i hadn't drove that day and hit (your name) and hoseok and begged you to not call the cops we wouldn't be here in this mess-"

"don't say that."

jimin turned his head to look at jungkook, "what?"

jungkook sighed and walked towards his best friend, looking down at him with a rather solemn expression but lips managed to make out soft words. "that's all in the past now, jimin, we can't change the things we did."

"we? but it was all my-"

"no, no it wasn't." jungkook looked at him with serious eyes, "i've kept this secret from everyone else, so it's also my fault. but jimin, i know you didn't plan for this to happen when (your name) and hoseok were dating. on the night we were driving, you said it yourself you were going to move on from her and find someone else."

jimin nodded in affirmation at jungkook's truthful facts, "i-i just thought that this was an advantage to use, i thought if this all happened, maybe me and (your name) would have a chance together.."

"a chance together hm?"

"y-yeah.."

"and did it work out?"

jimin's eyes met with the pale hands of his, "only for a short while.."

"so even if you and (your name) were together, it still didn't work out in the end, did it?"

jimin's tears were falling even more. jungkook did seem inconsiderate rubbing in his face that he was wrong, but he was right. jimin did look rather sensitive and girlish, like all his manliness had left him. but what was he supposed to do when facing the facts? deny it? no, he couldn't. he knew it was time to stop, time to stop himself from hurting everyone.

and hurting you.

"no." jimin's answer was short and quiet, but jungkook could hear it.

"hyung," jungkook placed his big hand onto jimin's back, remembering how hurt his shoulders were, "do you regret all of this?"

jimin only nodded as more tears sprouted from his already red and puffy eyes, "if i had the chance to take it all back, i sure as hell would, jungkook.."

jungkook only responded by smiling and taking a step back from jimin. although the sounds of the room were filled with jimin's nonstop despair, jungkook only turned his head towards the slightly closed door.

"did you get all that?"

jimin's eyes widened in confusion as his eyes were met with the door. the moment he saw you open the door, he felt his heart breaking and soul escaping his body. he saw you walk in and had a rather bland expression on your face, but his eyes focused on the small drops of tears from your delicate eyes.

"(y-your name)-"

his eyes widened even more when you did something unexpected, you wrapped your arms around the poor boy. jimin felt your tears fall on his clothes, your breath hitching as you called him many profanities. jimin was ignoring the fact that you were putting pressure onto his shoulders, because he was just too fazed on the moment.

"you have no idea how much i want to hit you right now," you sobbed, "but i'm glad you're okay.."

jimin didn't know whether or not to hug you back, because truth be told, he didn't know if he was allowed to because he wasn't sure if he was forgiven.

"(your name), i want you to know that i'm-"

"i know, jimin," you pulled away from him and stared deeply into the eyes you managed to fall for long ago. "you don't need to apologize anymore."

"but i hurt you." his words were like a stab to your heart because they were hoarse and filled with regret.

you shook your head and wiped your tears, putting on your signature reassuring smile that he loved so much, "even if you did hurt me, it wasn't something you intended to do jimin, and i'd rather that you openly apologized and regretted it than holding a grudge. i love you, jimin, as a friend."

his expression fell at the word 'friend', but he knew it was for the best.

"i know we don't meet eye to eye on that, but if i can't love you as a lover, i will love you just as much as any friend would to their's."

you smiled and held onto his hands, your eyes looked down for a bit and noticed how bruised they were. you managed a smile, "these bruises on your hands reflect the actions you've done, but in time, bruises will fade and your actions will be forgiven. so don't get so beaten up about it.."

jimin tilted his head at you, "(your name)-"

you leaned down and kissed his hands, your lips feeling warm against his cold skin. jimin looked at you and smiled bitterly as you pulled away and gave him a warm smile.

jimin couldn't help himself and pulled you into the one last embrace, he hugged you so tight despite his already injured and hurt shoulders. "i'm happy that all the girls i could've fought for, it was you."

you chuckled at his sincere words, happy to hear such a thing come from him. you pulled away and laid a kiss upon jimin's forehead and whispered, "i'm sorry i wasn't able to love you the way you wanted me to."

jimin shook his head, "the time spent with you was enough to make me realize why i loved you so much, thank you."

you and jimin couldn't help but hug each other again. although he did do all those lies, actions, and choices, you weren't able to just drop him and leave him nowhere. jimin did need to learn his lesson, and in the end, his lesson was well learnt. he wasn't able to get you on his side and love you the way he wanted, after all, you still resided with hoseok.

from this point on, he knew hoseok was a lucky man. hoseok was a better man than jimin could've ever been, and he refused to believed it. but now, after everything had finally been revealed, you still chose to have him in your life. not as someone you used to date, not as someone who used you for his own good, but as a friend you cherished and loved.

you and jimin instantly pulled away as you heard sniffles from behind you guys. you both turned and were met with a crying jungkook and taehyung.

"are you crying, jungkook?" you asked, a bit amused as you and jimin wiped both of your eyes.

"what? me? crying?" jungkook shook his head and put on a smug smile, "as if! the school's golden student doesn't cry!"

jimin laughed as his tears were slowly becoming dry, "school's golden student my ass, you're crying like a baby right now."

"what about you, mr. 'i'm fighting for the love i rightfully deserve'?!" jungkook rubbed his eyes as he taunted him like that, jimin let it slide since he knew jungkook was like a kid at these things.

"tae," you couldn't help but chuckle as he was burying his face with his sleeve, "when did you come in?"

"i walked by to check up on you guys and i stayed to watch because i saw jungkook crying." taehyung admitted, and felt his weight shift as jungkook elbowed him. taehyung's faced looked horrible as he sobbed loudly. "man, that was so endearing, i feel so emo right now!"

"me too, man!" jungkook sniffled.

you and jimin laughed at jungkook and taehyung whom hugged each other while crying and talked about how emotionally forgiving and beautiful that was. you smiled and turned your head and saw jimin already looking at you, you two managed a laugh together.

even though all of that was through, there was still one more important person he definitely needed to apologize to.

and that exact person had walked in rolling his own wheelchair into the room, of course he had on his signature radiant smile as he made eye contact with jimin.

"hoseok," jimin looked at him with shock, "oh shit, i didn't make you crippled did i?!"

hoseok laughed and shook his hand back and forth, "ani, the doctors just thought this was better for me to travel with."

"look," jimin looked at him sincerely, "i'm sorry for bullying you all those years..i was just jealous of what you had." jimin looked up at you, "i was jealous that you had someone i couldn't have."

hoseok smiled at jimin's bitter sweet words, but he understood how he felt. after all, he's been in that position before, where the girl he loved was with someone else and just thinking of getting her back felt hopeless.

hoseok responded by simply holding his hand out to jimin, "it's okay, i could never hold a grudge against anyone, it's not how i am."

jimin looked at his hand for a few seconds, and as he stared at that hand, all he saw were memories of him hurting him, kicking and punching him like he was nothing. jimin's eyes winced at the remembrance but his eyes soon softened as he looked up at hoseok once again.

that's when jimin understood why hoseok was always perfect for you. it was the way he was so nice and forgiving, the way hoseok smiled seemed it could cure cancer, and the way his eyes showed nothing but sincerity made jimin realize; those were qualities he also had, he was just too focused on the negatives that he didn't get to use them to win your heart over.

jimin sighed and looked at hoseok and smiled, his hand finally making their way to shaking hoseok's. in a way, it was the start of not only a new beginning, but a friendship.
