Flashback
When Katherine Pierce first arrived to Mystic Falls, Eira didn't know anything about the girl so, of course, Eira started off liking her. But, then Eira noticed that Katherine was toying with both of her brothers' feelings and she didn't like that.
She couldn't stand it.
So, Eira decided to confront Katherine about it when her brothers weren't around, of course, which was almost never. But, one day Eira caught Katherine without one of brothers prancing about her and Eira took her chance.
The only thing Katherine knew about Eira was that the Salvatore brothers loved her very much and they were protective over her. She also noticed that Eira was very shy and she always kept her head in a book. So, imagine her surprise that day when Eira with all her determination, walked as angrily as she could without stomping (as it wasn't ladylike) right up to Katherine. To say Katherine was shocked was an understatement.
Eira had a fiery look in her eyes, but she still had the courtesy to curtsy in greeting which made Katherine intrigued. She had never seen anyone be confrontational like Eira.
"Miss Katherine," Eira curtsied."I should like to know what your intentions with my brothers are."
"Do you?" Katherine teased. "Well, I happen to like your brothers. Their very....appealing."
Eira huffed,"Well, you should know I'm very protective of my brothers. So, whatever your doing with them, just stop."
Eira's warning made Katherine chuckle. "You have fire. I'll give you that," Katherine stated before saying darkly. "But, no one tells me what to do."
Katherine walked closer to Eira and grabbed her wrist harshly, then looked in Eira's eyes and compelled her.
"You'll be more civil towards me," Katherine sneered. "And you won't remember this."
Eira repeated what she said in montone and after she did, Katherine released her wrist and said,"Good. Now go."
Eira scurried off and she didn't remember Katherine compelling her or that she even had a conversation with Katherine. In Eira's mind, she wanted to be nicer to Katherine and she didn't hold against her what she was doing to her brothers. It was as if someone told her to be more....civil.

It was a couple days, after that and Eira had gotten along nicely with Katherine and Katherine seemed to smirk ever time she did which confused her greatly.
Eira was sitting outside on a bench, reading a book. There were people milling about today on the Salvatore property because her father was doing some business of his. Then, Katherine stood in front of her and ripped the book out of her hands.
Eira looked up with wide eyes and reached for the book,"Can I have the book back?"
"I have watched you sit here and read this book for quite some time and you still haven't noticed," Katherine stated handing the book back to her.
"Noticed what?" Eira questioned clutching the book to her chest.
"That boy over there," Katherine looked at him with her eyes.
Eira followed her eyesight and saw the boy, but didn't see anything out of the ordinary,"What about him?"
"You really are blind, aren't you?" Katherine sighed. "He won't stop staring at you."
"What? Why?" Eira stammered out with wide eyes.
"Because he likes you, obviously," Katherine rolled her eyes.
Katherine looked at her and saw how clueless her face looked and Eira kept stealing glances at the boy to see if he really was staring at her. He was.
"Oh, this should fun," Katherine smirked and waved at the boy to bring him over to them.
"No, Kat," Eira jumped up from the bench she was sitting on and her eyes were frantic.
Katherine's eyes snapped to Eira once she had called her by a nickname. "You gave me a nickname?"
"Well, yes. That's what friends do," Eira stated.
Katherine's cold, undead heart warmed at word 'friends'. No one had ever called her a nickname, let alone ever really wanted to be a genuine friend. But, Eira was always genuine.
Katherine thought that Eira was much like herself when she was human. She actually, liked being reminded of her humanity. Katherine started to like Eira.
The boy had walked over to Katherine and Eira once Katherine beckoned him over. "Collin Andrews," he bowed and introduced himself.
"Miss Katherine," he nodded his head at her in greeting and she curtsied.
Collin fixed his eyes on Eira, who his heart yearned for. "Miss Eira."
Eira curtsied and he grabbed her hand and laid a kiss on the back of it. Eira was taken aback as she was never around boys. Stefan and Damon always kept them away from her.
Eira took her hand away from his as she didn't really know what to do. "Would you accompany me for walk?" Collin questioned.
Eira looked at Katherine for guidance on what to do. She was just amused. Katherine hinted with her eyes, suggesting she go with him.
Eira nodded and replied,"Uh, yes."
Collin smiled and he held his arm out for Eira to loop hers through. She did, hesitantly and they walked off together. But, Eira looked back at Katherine and she just waved and smirked.

While Eira was walking with Collin, Stefan and Damon found Katherine. Stefan hadn't seen Eira all day and was worried.
"Have you seen Eira?" Stefan questioned Katherine.
"Yes," Katherine smirked. "She's on a walk with a boy."
"What?" Stefan and Damon both shouted.
"What's the matter?" Katherine questioned.
"She's with a boy," Stefan stated like that would clear everything up.
"And what's wrong with that?" Katherine asked.
"She's our sister," Stefan stated. "No one is allowed to be with our sister."
"You can't be serious," Katherine stated."She has to be courted at some time."
"Not while I'm alive," Stefan continued and left to go find his sister while Damon stayed with Katherine. He would let Stefan handle it.
Stefan found Collin and his sister walking through the garden. Collin was making her laugh and Stefan didn't like it at all.
"Eira," Stefan shouted.
Eira stopped laughing and became serious. She turned to find Stefan walking up to them with his hands in fists at his sides and he was glaring at Collin. He was in a protective mode.
"Eira, lets go," Stefan reached his hand out for her to grab. "Father wants to see you."
Eira took Stefan's hand and looked at Collin apologetically, but he just looked angered and annoyed. He stomped off to who knows where and Eira decided that she didn't like the way he got angry.
Eira walked with Stefan and asked,"What does Father want to see me about?"
"That was a lie," Stefan told the truth. "You're not supposed to be around any men, remember."
"I was just being polite," Eira explained. "He wanted to go for a walk with me."
"Well, just refuse anyone next time," Stefan stated and Eira nodded.

Over the next few days, Eira spent a lot of time with Katherine. Katherine enjoyed talking to Eira because it reminded her of human, normal times. So, they developed a friendship.
But, Katherine had her secret of being a vampire and that was bound to come out. And it did. Eira had walked in on Katherine feeding off of a servant.
Eira gasped and stumbled back. Katherine quickly pulled her fangs out of the servant's neck and turned to find Eira. Katherine compelled the servant to forget and leave them.
Eira didn't run which confused Katherine greatly, "What are you?"
"I'm a vampire, Eira," Katherine explained.
Eira just gulped in that information as her mind grasped the concept that the supernatural lived among her. "You're not scared?" Katherine questioned.
"Not of you. No," Eira shook her head.
"Why not?" Katherine asked.
"We're friends. Friends don't hurt friends," Eira explained and Katherine admitted to herself that she cared about Eira as a friend. She wasn't supposed to let anybody get close to her since she lived her life on the run from Klaus. But, she did.
Katherine explained to her all the things about being a vampire and they were closer than ever after that. Katherine had told Eira one day that she was running from some very important vampires and that Eira would be in danger because of her.
"I'd go with you," Eira stated. "You could turn me and we could be best friends on the run forever. You wouldn't have to be alone anymore, Kat."
Katherine looked at her in surprise,"You would do that?"
"We're best friends. There's nothing I wouldn't do," Eira explained and Katherine smiled.
Katherine didn't want her to be vampire, though because she was sure Eira would get killed because of her. Katherine found out that the town of Mystic Falls was going to round up the vampires and she didn't want Eira to get hurt in the middle of all of it. So, she asked Emily Bennett to put a spell on Eira that guaranteed if anything happened to her she would be alright. So, if she died then she would be still be alive.
So, the spell was placed on Eira and then the vampires were rounded up that night. Katherine had told Eira that she was going to fake her death and leave. But, she didn't tell Eira she had a spell placed on her.
So, when Stefan killed her the night after all tomb vampires were rounded up. She was brought back to life. But, Emily was against vampires and she knew that when Eira woke up she would choose to be a vampire with her brothers. So, she linked Eira's spell to the tomb spell, keeping Eira from ever waking up.
So, the spell was kept on Eira for years and years. The spell had seeped inside of her and changed her. The blood that flowed through her veins became tantalizing as the spell now flowed through her veins. The spell changed her hair color from dark brown to a pure, white, the color that signified purity and innocence, because a spell was pure and innocent in its form. Eira had become.....
.......a spell in human form.
Author's Note: So I made the big reveal on what Eira is. I think it's so cool. You readers know what she is but Eira does not yet so keep that in mind. And I still haven't revealed all of Eira's special little powers. But, that will be a lot later down the road.
By the way, I just made up the Collin dude and he will not be involved in this story, only this flashback.
