Chapter 30

Mimi woke up a few hours later and they were already driving. She groggily took on her surroundings as she rubs the crap out of her eyes. She fluttered her eyelashes sleepily at the person beside her and smiled to herself.

Mike is so focused on the road and the destination that he didn't even bothered brushing his just-fucked-hair. Mimi looked at the clothes she was wearing and noticed that Mike had decided to just dress her in a black shirt and shorts and her flip flops.

Mimi looked at the rearview mirror to see if she has just-fucked-hair as well. Well, she does. She tried to comb it but it wouldn't budge. She looked like a mess.

Mimi stretched and winced.

"Just how sore are you?" Mike asked and Mimi could hear the trace of amusement in his voice. Mimi rolled her eyes and smacked him on the arm.

"Apparently not sore enough," Mimi muttered. Honestly, she was actually really really sore. She felt like she was menstruating and that feeling of heaviness and pain was there but she always hated that feeling. This was completely different. She liked this kind of pain.

"Do you want to be banged seven shades of Sunday?" Mike threatened and Mimi laugh but she knew he was probably being serious.

"I was kidding," she says and he smirks at her.

He wasn't! Mimi thought. The bastard!

"So I don't suppose you're still not telling me where we're going, huh?" Mimi asked again even though she knew the answer. Mike made a gesture of a zipper on his mouth and Mimi guessed as much. "Can't you just pretty please tell me?"

"Nope," Mike shook his head to emphasize his point. Mimi then thought of a brilliant idea.

"You can bang me seven shades of Sunday if you tell me," Mimi said. Mike turned his head to look at her with wide eyes. Mimi batted her eyelashes at him to emphasize HER point now.

"You are insatiable already just by after one time?" Mike says in a fake horror tone. Mimi knew he was shocked by her statement. She was too but she stood her ground and nodded. Mike smirked. "You better not chicken out on me."

"I won't," Mimi said then made a crossing sign over her heart. Mike shook his head but he was still grinning.

"Tulsa. We're going to Tulsa."

Mimi smiled and hugged him; Which made Mike lose control of the wheel and they almost crashed at an Audi that was driving by. Mike shrugged her off of him and glared at her.

Well, there goes the mood of today, Mimi thought glumly and leaned her head against the window.

"Would you keep an open mind?" Mike asked as he opened Mimi's door for her. They just arrived at the estate/mansion and nobody has come out to greet them yet. But Mimi can definitely see that there are people inside.

"I've kept an open mind since we met, Mike," Mimi says to him frowning. Mike shrugged and closed the door. He then walked to the trunk of the car so he could get their bags. Mimi didn't pack that much. Just a duffel bag. She didn't think they'd stay too long and besides, she has lots of clothes here.

Mike returns to her side carrying their bags. His backpack is slung on one side while he's carrying her duffel bag on the other. He smiles at her and puts his hand on her back and leads the two of them to the front door.

Mimi started hesitating. Sure she loved seeing her family but it has been a long time since she's seen them. She closed her eyes and started counting to three before knocking.

Her mother was the one who opened the door and greeted them. Mimi smiled shyly and hugged her mother who hugged her back fiercely.

Her mother eyed Mike closely and Mimi thought she noticed that her mother actually sort of approves of seeing the two of them together. Evidently, Mimi thinks its because she's radiating happiness when she's around Mike.

"Come inside. A lot of people want to see the two of you!" her mother gushed. Mimi was greeted by a loud squeal as she entered and she knew who could make that squeal. She turned ever so slowly and Maki jumped at her.

"OMG! I missed you!" she practically screeched at Mimi's ear. Mimi chuckled and leaned back to get a good look at the girl.

She had definitely matured a little bit.

Her hair wasn't streaked with any hair dye anymore and it's actually tied up in a high pony. She's wearing very little make-up; her natural beauty showing. And the way she dressed was even different now. Instead of skimpy short outfits, she's now wearing jeans! Jeans!

"I missed you too," Mimi replied and hugged Maki again. She definitely missed the girl.

"I have to introduce you to someone by the way but first," Maki started then she turned Mimi around and is greeted by Dylan. Mimi's breath was caught in her throat. Sure she's in love with Mike now but that doesn't really mean she's gotten over Dylan, right? Right?

He's smiling shyly at her. His hair is cut shortly now and he dresses very differently as well but he's still the same Dylan she's always known.

"Hey, Mims," Dylan says. Mimi cocked her head to the side, smirked at him and shook her head.

"Hey, Dylie," she says back. She knew that he hated being called that and she hated being called 'Mims.' Sadly, that's what their mother grew up calling them. He smirked back at her and nodded to Mike who nodded back at him.

All is good now, Mimi thought. Dylan doesn't appear to be holding a grudge.

Mimi let out a sigh of relief then turned her attention back to Maki who is smiling at her.

"Okay, who did you want me to meet?" Mimi asked and Maki beamed. She turned around and made a 'psst' sound at someone or something in the living room. Then out came a slim averaged height Asian guy.

"Mimi, this is Kenji. Kenji, this is Mimi!" Maki said excitedly. Kenji extended his hand and Mimi shook it. He has a square jaw, striking brown eyes, high cheekbones, thin lips and jet black hair. He smiled at Mimi and she noticed that he has dimples.

He looked like an average looking guy but Mimi knew something was up. This guy is the reason why Maki changed. She's becoming a better person because of him. Well, mature would be a better word to use to describe what's happening to Maki.

"Hey, nice to meet you," Mimi says and Kenji grins. He doesn't say much.

Maybe that's why she likes him so much, Mimi thought. He just listens to her blab all day.

He puts an around Maki and she blushes. Mimi smiles at the two of them and moved to her own man who is still carrying their bags.

"Oh you can put that at our room," Mimi says and her mother raised an eyebrow at her. She flushes and rephrases what she just said. "Er, in your room I mean. I'll show you where."

She looked down at her feet as she led Mike upstairs. She decided that Mike could stay at the room near hers. She opened the door and Mike settled in pretty quickly. He threw the bags on one corner of the room. He knows it’s only full of clothes so he doesn’t really care.

Mimi glanced at him and he arched his eyebrows, like he was expecting something. Mimi flushed and looked down at her feet again. Then Mike’s arms were around her. She looked up and saw him smirking down at her.

“I don’t think he’s still upset with you,” he whispered. Mimi told Mike all about what she had with Dylan. Who wouldn’t? Mike knew there’s got to be some logical reason as to why his brother is in rehab all of a sudden and why Jane got pregnant. He knew it’s not Dylan’s of course. But he just put everything together and he just understood.

“I don’t think so either,” Mimi said softly, still unsure. “But you don’t know Dylan.”

“I don’t want to,” he says plainly then lets go of her. He took her hand and gave it a reassuring squeeze. He tugged it so that she would follow him out the door. “C’mon. Everyone’s waiting downstairs. Wouldn’t want to give them a bad idea now, would we?” he arched an eyebrow at her and she giggles.

The day went on perfectly. They all laughed and joked. Mike got along with her parent’s fine. He and Dylan even made plans to play basketball soon. Mimi’s brows furrowed at that one. She didn’t know Mike even played basketball. In fact, she had never even seen him play any sport besides football.

Kenji was pretty quiet throughout. He was just there beside Maki all the time while she blabbed. Mimi didn’t need to ask if he really did feel something for her. Because it shows. The way he looked at her adoringly like she’s the only girl in the world for him. It was so romantic. Mike looked at her like that sometimes. Dylan used to.

“Hey, can we talk?” Dylan said after dinner. She and Mike wanted to go back upstairs for some alone time. She blinked at him and nodded. She squeezed Mike’s hand and gave him a small smile and told him to go on upstairs and that she’d be there soon.

They went to Dylan’s car and sat there. They used to do that a lot back then when they were still together. This was where they would talk about everything. Mimi remembered feeling safe inside. Now, she wasn’t sure. She actually has no idea why Dylan even asked her to come out here.

“What is it, Dylan?” Mimi asked. She wanted to get to the point quickly.

He shrugged and stared straight ahead. Mimi did it too. She couldn’t face looking at him right now. Too many memories and it still hurts a little bit.

“I’m putting love aside for a while, you know,” he says after a few moments. Mimi turned to look at him. He was still not looking at her. He closed his eyes and leaned his head back. He smiled and shook his head. “Stressing the fuck out of me, Mims.”

“Stresses the fuck out of everyone,” she replied flatly. Finally, Dylan looked at her and he grinned.

“You did it, didn’t you?” Dylan asked inappropriately. Mimi’s face burned and she was pretty sure she’s the color of a tomato. She looked away from him and blinked a couple of times.

“What makes you think we did?”

“Your hickies,” he says then reached out and touched the side of her neck. His finger was rough with callus; result from playing the guitar too often. His touch used to send her body shivers. It was always hot and cold but this time, it just seemed like any other touch any guy friend of hers gives.

Her face flushed some more. How embarrassing could this be more? Dylan’s finger left as quickly as it had touched her skin. She put her hand over the side of her neck and felt something. It wasn’t really painful but it felt like being nicked or pricked by a thorn.

Dylan had never given her hickies. Neither did Aaron and Andy. They all knew that she didn’t want them leaving marks on her. Mike didn’t. She should’ve told him that.

But in a way, she kind of liked having a hickey given to her by Mike. It just showed how much she is to him. She was his. What would her mother think?

Her mother! Shit!

Her mother probably saw the hickey!

“Don’t worry,” Dylan says, sensing her fear. “It’s not noticeable. Just don’t push your hair back. Your hair covers it.”

Mimi turned to look at her brother and gave him a grateful smile. He smiled back at her. Now they are officially in good terms.
