Andree

The next morning I got out of bed and took a good shower. Afterwards, I got dressed and went into the kitchen and Lisa was of course making breakfast.

"Good morning, Andree." She smiled. "Did you enjoy yourself last night?"

"Not really." I sighed.

The date with Money was totally Bunk. She was my friend and all, but she was way too extra for me to handle on a consistent basis. It would be better off for us to be just friends, because last night was the longest night of my night. Never have I had so many arguments and laughs with someone so many times within one night.

"Actually, it kind of sucked." I added. "It was so too dramatic for me. I don't think I wanna go on another date for a while."

"Well, that sucks." She chuckled. "She just wasn't the right one for you."

"I knew that already." I said. "Hopefully, she feels the same way."

"You know, Isa was waiting all evening for you." She said. "But, she left after dinner to go to work. She seemed kind of down and I had a feeling it was about your date."

"I doubt she cares." I said. "Isa made it clear that she's not into me."

"We all say things we don't mean." She smiled. "You can't tell me that you don't think she's into you."

"Around me, she's never acted like she has been." I shrugged. "I think I would have caught the hint by now."

"Alright, Andree." She said before handing me my plate of food. "I think you better hurry up and eat before you're late to class."

I quickly ate breakfast and then I went straight to class. Unfortunately, I had made it there before Isa. Hopefully she wouldn't take long to get here, because I wanted to talk to her. I wanted her to know all about my date and how pointless it was.

"Do you know where your partner is this morning?" Mrs. Jenkins inquired.

"Nope." I shook my head.

I looked at the wall clock and it was only ten in the morning. We still had two hours left of class and I was hoping that I wouldn't be alone. As I waited and waited for Isa to show up, she never did and grew a bit worried.

I finally accepted the fact that she wasn't coming to class, and I was a bit upset. I guess this is how she must have felt yesterday when I didn't show up to class, and I didn't even give her the time of day at my house, either. I then felt kind of bad, because I knew that I had messed up and it was possible that she was mad at me.

After class was over I went straight to the my dad's personal florist and got a bouquet of white roses. Then, I went hope and didn't hesistate to jump in the shower. Once I dried off and got dressed into some casual clothes, I cleaned up my room and made sure everything was in place.

When I heard the doorbell ring, I raced down the stairs and opened the front door. Isa stood there in front of me with sweat pants on and a cropped shirt, along with her curly hair brushed back into a ponytail.

"Hello, beautiful." I smiled. "I've been waiting all day to see you."

"Why is that?" She asked before walking inside. I closed the door and began leading her up the stairs.

"I have something to show you."

I brought her into my room and sat her down on the bed. I then handed her the bouquet of flowers from off of my dresser. Her eyes widened before she examined them. I knew that she was probably surprised, but that was the best part about it.

"Look, Isa I know this isn't much but I wanted to apologize to you from the bottom of my heart and show you how much I regret hurting you." I said. "If I could go back in time and erase the things I did, then I would. You have been such a good friend to me and you only deserve the best."

"Wow, I don't even know what to say." She giggled. "Thank you, Andreson."

"You're welcome."

"You're really being sweet to me." She giggled. "Shouldn't you be doing things like this for your girlfriend?"

I laughed, "That girl could never be my girlfriend. She just likes me and I told her I would take her on a date just to be nice."

"Wow." She said. "I bet you had fun."

"I knew I should have listened to Lisa when she told me you were feeling some type of way about my date." I chuckled. "How cliché of you."

"Andreson, no offense but I did not care about you and clown face last night." She scoffed. "I had other things to think about."

I sat down on the bed next to her and shook my head. "Sure, Isa."

"I just think you're trying to make me like you." She folded her arms.

"What makes you think that?" I laughed. "I guess you do like me since you're always on my case."

"You wish." She rolled her eyes.

It seemed like she was moving farther away from me. I looked at her and she gave me an uneasy look.

"Why are you so far away?" I asked. "I'm not going to hurt you."

"How do I know that?"

"Don't you think I would have done it by now if that's what I wanted to do?" I smirked.

I grabbed her hands and pulled her right next to me, until we were directly eye to eye. She didn't say anything. Instead, she just stared into my eyes and I smiled. I didn't even wanna let go of her hands.

"Are you scared of me?" I asked in a low tone.

"No." She said. "I'm not."

"I can hear your heart beating."

"Because, you're so close to me." She said. "I've never been this close to a boy before."

"I feel special then." I smiled.

She rolled her eyes, "I didn't mean that in a romantic way, Andreson."

"Are you sure?" I asked. "I mean, it seems like you are."

"No, that's just what you want me to do." She said. "That's what you want every girl to do. You can't fool me."

She got up and began to leave the room, but I grabbed her arm and pulled her right back towards me.

"What are you doing?" She asked. At this point she was really annoyed with me, but I didn't care.

"Where do you think you're going?" I inquired.

"I'm leaving." She spat. "I don't wanna talk to you anymore."

She yanked her arm out of my grasp and stormed out of the room. I couldn't understand why she always got mad at me when I tried to be nice to her. And now she was insinuating that I was trying to "fool" her. What more could I do to get this girl to actually like me?

Lisa later on called me downstairs for dinner and when I walked in the dining room, Isa glared at me in an evil way. I sat down in front of her and looked at her trying to get some type of explanation of what the hell her problem was.

"What's wrong with you?" I asked. "Every time I try to be nice to you, you get mad at me!"

"Andreson, you are such a player." She scoffed.

My eyes widened, "How? What did I even do to you?"

"You're trying to sweep me off my feet so I can fall for you just like every other girl does." She said. "I'm not interested, Andreson."

"I don't even like you like that." I smirked. "You're so full of yourself."

"I don't like you either, asshole." She spat.

"Good!" I laughed. "I'm glad you don't."

"You both are arguing like you are a married couple." Lisa said as she set our dinner plates down on the table.

Tonight she had made well done steak with baked potatoes and a side of satuéed shrimp. It looked so good, but not as good as Isa looked when she was mad.

"It's all Andreson's fault." Isa pouted.

"How is it my fault?" I asked. "You're the one that's making this difficult for the both of us!"

"You think buying me some stupid wedding roses are supposed to make me fall in love with you or something?"

"They aren't even wedding roses." I said. "I spent a lot of money on those because I thought that you would like them."

"Aww, you're so sweet!" Lisa cooed.

"Barf." Isa commented.

"You're ridiculous, Isa." I shook my head.

After dinner, Isa took our plates in the kitchen and I went back upstairs so I could get in bed. As I made my way to the bedroom, I noticed the door to the entertainment room wide open. It was odd because my dad had kept it locked all the time to make sure I couldn't get in.

I walked in the room and I took a good look at how huge it was. On the right side of the room there was a TV and my Super Nintendo that my father forbid me from playing. The floors were decorated with bean bags and various magazines that each featured my parents in some kind of way.

On the left side of the room there was a couch and two loveseats, and even a bar. The walls were covered with bookcases and so many books filled them all. I looked out of the glass door that led to the balcony and saw that my dad still had his grill sitting out there along with some chairs and empty wine bottles.

"Wow." Isa said as she gawked around the room. "This room is awesome!"

"I know right." I chuckled. "Too bad my dad never lets me in here."

"I wonder why that is."

"I don't know." I shrugged and sat down on the couch. "He's just strict."

"That sucks." She said.

She sat down next to me on the couch and I just looked at her. "So, what do you do as a hobby? I'm sure you're gonna say work as one answer."

"Not anymore." She sighed. "I got fired yesterday. Now, I need to make sure I work hard while I'm here."

"You're only fourteen years old." I said. "How come you work?"

"It's complicated." She shrugged, then looked at me. "You wouldn't understand."

"I can try to the best of my ability." I smiled.

She didn't say anything for a while. I decided not to say anything else because I didn't want to bug her. I wanted her to feel comfortable talking to me.

"Well, I live in the projects in the Bronx." She said as she looked down. "My mom works two jobs, and we're still struggling because she lets George takes all her money and he spends it on stupid stuff. I've been trying to help so we can stay off of the streets, but I don't even see a point anymore."

I felt bad for her. I couldn't even say that I could relate because I had never had a problem with money.

"Isa, I think you're a great person to be helping your family like that." I said. "If you ever need any help with money, you know you can come to me."

"Your family is helping me out enough." She smiled. "But, thank you Andreson."

I wish that I could tell her more things, like how much I enjoyed her company. I wanted to tell her how much I liked talking to her, but I didn't want to make her upset. Maybe If I was just more patient with her, she would grow to like me.

"I have to get going since it's pretty late outside." She said. "I guess I'll see you tomorrow."

"How are you getting home?" I asked.

"Subway." She chuckled.

"Are you crazy?" I gave her a funny look. "It's way too dark for you to be walking to the subway station."

"Well, what else am I supposed to do?"

"You don't see that nice limo parked outside?" I smirked. "It comes with a driver."

She rolled her eyes, "And?"

I stood up and grabbed her hand. "Come with me. I'll make sure that you get a comfortable ride home."

"Fine." She said before standing up. "Let's go."
