Genre: Ewan. Hahaha. Is sarcasm a genre?
The host looked at the handsome pair appreciatively. "So, let's start with you, Alden," he began. "Two years kayo ni Meng, bilang half of the most phenomenal love team ng Philippine showbiz , ika nga. What have you realized so far in this journey?"
Alden grinned, his trademark dimple showing. "Marami naman po. Pero siguro the best thing I learned is talagang never do things alone. Kasi Tito Jo, some people say that Maine daw is her own person, tapos ako, I need to grow din as an artist by myself, pero hindi eh. We're a team. We should always do things together."
Maine smiled. "Totoo po yan, Tito. Sabi nila I should not be my own woman daw. Kasi in other love teams, mas may potential daw mag succeed ang babae kaysa lalake after the love team ends. So I have to be careful that Alden and I are equal all the time. I shouldn't shine brighter than him, and he shouldn't be bigger than I am."
The audience clapped in approval.
The host leaned forward. "So ano ibig sabihin niyan?"
"Siguro Tito Jo, for me, dapat hindi kami naghihiwalay ng projects, ever. All my projects, dapat siya lang partner ko. Travels and tours ko, dapat kasama siya."
"Pero nakakapagod ata yun," the host interjected.
"Showbiz," Alden said with a shrug. "We have to show people talaga that they can count on us being together all the time. Ever since naman we started doing everything together, kumalma naman mga fans namin. No more doubters."
The host arched an eyebrow. "But Meng, don't you think that's a really big change from who you are?"
Maine giggled. "Well, you change for love, diba? People kasi say na independent woman daw ako. Kailangan bawasan pala yun. Dapat submissive ka pala sa partner mo kasi siya lalake. If Alden doesn't want me to wear things like mga off-shoulder, siyempre, obedient ka kasi babae ka. I don't want fans to think na Alden and I disagree on things kasi."
"But surely you get bored..." the host asked.
"Life was boring without Alden. Now I'm with him all the time, parang nagkaroon na rin ako ng reason to live everyday. Like my whole existence depends on him," Maine replied.
"And ikaw Alden?"
Alden grinned. "Same here."
"Pero hindi ba mahirap...." the host asked worriedly.
"Basta tito, dapat good vibes lang always, diba Nation!?" Maine concluded hastily, signalling the end of the interview.
The audience shrieked in delight.
