How can I be so reckless? I wanted to scream from the top of the roof. I might actually miss the deadline. I am so gonna fail this semester, my whole career is futile.
'please, hello please, breath!' I faintly heard Bryan's voice. He snapped his fingers infront of me and it slowly broke my trance of my forming panic attack. I gazed at Bryan with big doe eyes to gain some sympathy from him. because I know I am going to need as much as i can in next 3 hours.
Seeing my big pleading eyes Bryan was alert and he slowly turned around heading for his room.
"Brey" I called out softly.
Bryan stopped walking , he closed his eyes and cursed under breath. Taking all the time in world to move around. He slowly turned and saw me with all the cute puppy look and with shimmery eyes.
"No." he simply replied.
"You just cant leave my boat to sink, this close Brey" I made an emotional appeal.
"Stop with this Brey non sense, I know you too well Ginevra Weasley" he sourly added.
I smiled inwardly he did knew me too well. I never actually call him Brey unless he is needed in very close tight nod situations. like now. I desperately need his help now. And he never calls me with my full name(you know just like mothers, when you mess up they give you a heads up with calling you by your full name) yeah Bryan did the same thing.!
"I need your help, I promise I will pay back" I offered.
" I don't know love" he said placing his hand on the wall taking a full on dramatic pose, if I wasn't this helpless I would have handled him in a way different way. Trying to look more innocent I brushed that thoughts away and focused on my task.
"You have to take my turn at the pub." I said.
"Are you kidding, no way" He laughed. on my face. Straight.
We both worked part time at the Pub Laurent which was luckily situated between uni and our apartment. how convenient right? with nice pay and free beverage. It was dream job But we had two shifts one in the afternoon after our classes and another was in morning but we had alternate days on morning shift. And today was my shift I had exactly 15 minutes to be on my shift.
"please, I'm begging you" I pleaded.
"okay, you know i don't do favors love" He smirked.
I knew it. I just has to make a deal with the devil. I embraced myself.
"I want a date with you" He smirked some more.
"Not again. I told you I don't date" I specifically quoted don't date part in air.
"I know. worth a try" pouted Bryan.
"I want you to do my laundry" he said with an impish look.
I had no time to bargain I know I am going to regret it later but first thing first, I slowly noded.
"I also want apartment to myself on weekend" He winked.
Argh, I made a disgusted face, I very well knew why he needed deserted apartment and at this rate he constantly ask me out. what an chump, I agreed with no complains.
"Can we invite Lida to move in?" He excitedly arched his eye brows up and down.
I mean what? This was a two room apartment and he wants another roomie.? clearly she wont share my room, because she must be this girl of the month for him and he wants to even marry her right now. but I know after a couple of meetings. He will get bore and the real drama will start right from there. And this nuisance idea of moving in moving out pops in his head once in a while, which I have to burst it with a sharp pin. I don't do it voluntarily, he made me promise to do this when I moved in.(how lucky)
"Know your limit, White" I deadpan.
He laughed. "Since, you were agreeing on everything" He played his cute dimple smile.
"You, have 5 minutes. And I have 30 minutes to make my paper presentable" I stated.
"On dot" He replied in motion.
I went in my room and started working on my paper. I was doing major in Merm/Mermish language and this semester was a crucial one. I was so engrossed in my paper I dint sensed Bryan standing near my table all dressed up with a coffee mug in his hand, he placed my mug carefully on the left side of the table.
"Thanks a ton Brey" I smiled still working on my sheets.
"Don't be a clutz and drink it" He pointed my mug and kissed my cheek before leaving.
"I'll see at pub" I shouted.
"Sure, kill the paper love" He shouted back and I heard door closed.
It took me exactly 20 minutes to edit my paper with all the cross examining and yet, I was scrutinizing it over and over. I glanced at watch and I had less than 10 mins I quickly put my stuff in my bag and started getting dressed. I had no time to chose or waste time in selecting an outfit.
I settled for a black skinny jeans with white jumper and a black scarf around my neck with black boots. I took my coat and stepped out of my apartment, locking it.
It was a cold morning I pulled my gloves out of my bag and put them on while walking and fixing my scarf around my neck properly busy in keeping myself warm I bypassed the newspaper station where I often stop to take the news paper or any magazine. With no time today, I continued walking. when something caught my eyes. Those glasses I have seen them some where.? and brown hair? Do I know this person.?
I turned around to have a good look again but he was lost in sea of people. May be I have imagined it. And kept walking until I reached my University.
But that scene kept nagging in the corner of my head.
After two years. This was the first time I truly thought of him.
