Chapter 16;
Eric p.o.v
An hour later, we were just talking about what Kate and I could do tomorrow when the front door burst open.
"Mamma, Mamma! Är Eric här ännu?"
"Mamma, Mamma! Is Eric here yet?"
My little half brother and sister, Arvid and Noorah, shouted in unison as they ran into the livingroom. They stopped dead in the doorway when they saw us on the sofa.
"Eric!" they both screamed at the top of their lungs, dropping thier school bags, running and jumping onto me.
"Hej, ni två. Hur är det?"
"Hey, you two. How are you?" I laughed as I enveloped them in a huge hug, lifting them off the ground.
"Bra! Men Mamma sa bara oss i går kväll om att du skulle vara här."
"Great! But Mum only told us last night that you would be here." Arvid told me.
"Verkligen Mamma?"
"Really Mamma?" I asked as I placed Arvid and Noorah back on the floor, looking at mum.
"Ja. Det var en överraskning."
"Yes. It was a surprise." Mum replied.
"Åh, OK. Så du inte kan vara alltför galen då, kan du?"
"Oh, ok. So you can't be too mad then, can you?" I laughed as they climed off me and stood in front of us.
I looked over at Kate and smiled. "Sorry about that, they don't speak much English."
"Oh, don't worry." I was about to introduce her to them when she spoke again. "I've actually got something I'd like to say to them." She grinned.
"Really?" I asked, confused. She nodded with a huge smile on her face. I did not expect what she said next.
"Hej, Arvid. Hej, Noorah. Det är härligt att träffa dig. Jag är Kate, Eric's flickvän."
"Hi, Arvid. Hi, Noorah. It's great to meet you. I'm Kate, Eric's girlfriend."
I could only stare open mouthed at her. When did she learn to speak Swedish?
"Hej, Kate. Eric berättade att du inte talar någon svenska?"
"Hi, Kate. Eric told us that you didn't speak any Swedish?" Noorah asked, confusion all over her face. I couldn't help but laugh, earning a look from both her and Kate.
"Det gjorde jag inte. Jag lärde mig så mycket jag kunde så jag kunde prata med dig, Arvid och din mamma. "
"I didn't. I learnt as much as I could so I could talk to you, Arvid and your mum." Kate smiled genuinely.
"Och Eric, naturligtvis."
"And Eric, obviously." Noorah giggled.
"Och Eric."
"And Eric." Kate laughed. The idea of Kate and I talking Swedish to each other was actually quite nice. Maybe even slightly hot, hearing her talk it.
"Eric pratar aldrig engelska när han är här!"
"Eric never talks English when he's here!" Arvid piped up, butting Noorah out of the way slightly.
"Det beror på att jag inte behöver, brorsan."
"That's because I don't need to, bro." I laughed as I ruffled his hair. He made a groan of protest and moved so that I couldn't reach him.
"Eric, är Kate upptagen?"
"Eric, is Kate busy?" Noorah asked.
"Jag vet inte, du kan fråga henne själv."
"I don't know, you can ask her yourself." I smiled. She looked towards Kate, who shook her head. I was absolutely amazed that Kate was keeping up with the conversation to be honest - we spoke quite fast.
Noorah grabbed Kate's hand and along with Arvid, dragged her upstairs. I asked them why, but they were obviously to happy to have someone new in the house to awnser.
