Ethan: been a tough 12 hours w/o u ):
I smiled down at my phone as I walked through the gates of my school. Ethan and I had just hung out last night, yet he continues to text me he misses me every hour. He's really adorable. I love this Ethan and not the jerk one.
I went to my locker to put in my math book and locked it. I still had about ten minutes until the bell rang and I wasn't sure if anyone was here yet. Maya usually comes a minute before the bell rings.

me: anyone here yet?
Maya💜: lol no

Grace😽: I'm w Alex & Jack & the twins come thru we @ da quad

Grace😽: bitch I swear don't just come for Ethan 😑

I locked my phone and slipped it in my back pocket. I walked to the quad which was in the middle of the school, so I took a short cut. I saw Grace sitting by Alex, with Jack, Ethan, and Grayson sitting on the other side.
I picked up my pace when me and Ethan made eye contact. We smiled at each other. Though, he only smiled for a quick second before looking away.
"Hi!" I sat by Grace and gave her a hug. I waved to Alex but he got up. He came next to me and hugged me.
"We need to start talking more, so hi!" I agreed with him. He sat next to me so now I was in the middle of him and Grace.
"HI, ROWAN!" Grayson yelled.
"Yo, Gray, I'm right in front of you." I covered my ears, due to his loud voice.
"Sorry, I'm just excited to see you." He blushed and smiled at me.
"As I am with you. I love you, bff." I smiled at him with a cheesy, kiddish one. From the corner of my eye, I saw Ethan grin at me.
"I love you, too. Okay, but where's Maya?" I rolled my eyes, but smiled at the same time.
"Running late, as usual. Haven't you been here long enough to know this?" He nodded and I turned my attention to Jack who was talking about a test we have in third period.
"Jack, shut up. We don't want to think of that." Alex rolled his eyes and put his head in his hands.
"I'm going to fail so good." He said, wth a smile at the end.
"You mean bad?" Grace asked, confused.
"No, I meant good." Alex smiled and got up. "I have to go get my science book before the bell rings. I'll see you idiots later!" He waved goodbye, which we all returned.
I scanned the quad and looked around at the people and the staff simply sitting and waiting for the school bell to ring. It sucks that we're forced to attend school and let it depend what we're going to be doing for the rest of our lives. Of course this isn't always true.
I saw my dad, or do I mean the principal, walking into his office. I dismissed myself from my group of friends and decided it be best to go say hello to my father. I haven't talked to him in a while and I thought it be cool to catch up.
I walked into the office area and headed straight to his personal office. I smiled at the other workers and said 'good morning' to some. I reached my dad's door and knocked before walking in.
"Come in." I heard his voice say.
"Hey, dad." I sat in one of the chairs he had in front of his desk. He sat im his big chair and smiled at me.
"Morning, my love. How's your mom? How has her week started?"
"It started good. We went and tried Lemonade for the first time, I need to take you there. How was your third date?" I smiled, my dad was finding happiness and I couldn't be more happy for him. I want my mom to start dating too, but she doesn't want to just yet.
"About that.. Can we talk when you come over later? So, Wednesday?" He seemed nervous and played with his hands, a thing I do when I get nervous, too. I nodded and checked my phone.
"Class is going to start soo-" I was cut off with a knock at the door. I turned my head to see Kristen opening the door.
"Mr. Butera, oh hey, Rowan! Did your dad tell you?" She gave me the most obnoxious smile ever.
"What news, dad?" I looked at him, glaring. He knew I hated her after all she's done.
"Well, there is a possibility, with your help, that Kristen will be in advanced dance with you! But, you guys have school and it starts in five minutes." He shooed us out and closed the door.
"So, Ethan and dance? I guess I can take everything from you." She smirked and walked away.
"Like he said, with my help. You suck at dance and I would never help you. Have fun trying out!" I rolled my eyes and walked to my class. Luckily, I only have her for one class.
I walked in and sat in seat. Anne looked over to me with a shy smile. I haven't talked to her since that big fight. I held no grudge towards her and Lexie, but I definitely do not want them as close as before. I love the people I hang out with now and they just don't seem to be compatible with me or them anymore.
I gave her a smile back and took out my phone. I had three texts from Maya, two from Grace, five from Callie, and one from Ethan. Before I could unlock my phone and see what they said, I felt a tap on my shoulder. I thought it was Grayson just walking in, but it was Anne.
"Hey, so um, I'm sorry." She looked at me with sad eyes.
"It's in the past. I really don't care anymore. I feel like we were growing apart anyways and our friendship was doomed to end. It just ended in a not so pretty way." I said, playing with my hands.
"Yeah, but maybe we can hang out soon? I miss you. And Lexie does too, she's just a little heartbroken. They broke up. You were right." She averted her eyes to the ground.
"Um, I don't know. We're just not the same people anymore. It might not be the same. And I'm sorry I was right. I hope Lexie feels better." I saw Grayson walk in and give me a weird look. He didn't like Anne be a use he thought she didn't have a voice for her own. He hated Lexie because of they way she acted out.
"Yeah, I just thought I'd try. We're still friends right?" I nodded. She smiled and I have her a side hug since we were sitting in desks.
I checked my phone to see the same number of messages. The bell rang, but I stayed on my phone.
Maya💜: hey

me: Anne just apologized 😐
Grace😽: Ethan won't stop talking about u 🙄
I'm bored :((

"Goals." I looked up to see Grayson staring down at my phone.
"Stop snooping!" After I locked my phone, Duargo started class.
---skips to lunch bc school sucks---
Today has been surprisingly going great. Besides the whole Kristen trying to take dance from me and her sad attempts of trying to get Ethan's attention, I've been happy.
"Why so smiley today?" Callie came up to me and Grayson as we walked to the rest of our friends. I saw Alex and Jack decided to join us today.
"What? I can't be happy?"
"Okay, but it's Monday. You hate Monday's." She stopped in front of me and put her hands on my shoulders.
"Are you on drugs? Did Ethan give you them?? Grayson, what's wrong with her?!" She shook me a bit and I started to laugh. "SHE IS ON DRUGS!"
"No, you idiot. I'm just happy because I made new friends and I really love my friends." I smiled at her and took her hands off my shoulders.
"The drug is called Ethan." Grayson said, walking away from us to sit by Maya.
"Figured. You're never this sappy with us." She turned around and walked with me to the lunch line. We went to the shortest line and got veggie burgers with fries. We walked back to the table and sat down.
I saw Ethan come towards us and sit next to me. I looked up at him and smiled. He smiled back and began to talk to Grayson. I started to talk to Maya and she told me how she hated science and wish it was never a thing.
"Wait, oh my gosh." Maya's face turned pale,
"What?" I asked.
"Recital's this Friday!! I'm so not ready!" She freaked. It was her first recital at an actual performing arts center.
"It's going to be okay, M. I'll be with you the whole way." I gave her a smile and saw her face fill with color. As I put a fry in my mouth, I saw my dad walking around the courtyard. I really want to know his news.
