The hospital was silent at night. The only sounds you would hear at night are the cracking of the shoes of the people working there, the occasional heel of a heart monitor( or the sound of it flat-lining), and the quiet whispers of nurses to doctors. But tonight was different as two patients were rushed to two separate rooms. And one of those rooms were for emergencies only.
With Marco...
Ugh...why does everything hurt? He thought as he tried to sit up but grew weak at the last second. He grew annoyed and tried again but felt something hold him down. He looked down and saw an IV in his right arm. He observed his surroundings and realized that he was in a hospital room. He saw a TV in front of him. He reached for the remote but couldn't grab it. So he sighed as he created a mini portal for his finger to go through. He hit the power button and it showed the news. He saw the headline and immediately grimaced.
Assault Suspect and civilian show up at hospital in wounded state.
Civilian at risk of bleeding to death.
Marco sighed and covered his face in his hand. He knew it was about him and Angel. But he then panicked at the second part of that headline. Risk of beeding to death. Marco didn't hesitate as he pulled his IV out and got out of bed. However as soon as he did, the door opened. A nurse walked in with a clipboard and saw him standing.
"Excuse me sir you shouldn't be-" Marco's eyes turned red and glared at her. Her expression grew blank as her eyes turned red.
"Tell me where Angel is." he demanded.
"She's on the first floor at EM room 12. She just awoke after her surgery. No one is in there right now." the nurse answered almost like a machine.
"Good. You won't remember this happened and you will think that you already checked on me." Marco told her. She nodded and stepped out the room closing the door behind her. Marco then found his clothes in the room and changed out of the hospital gown they put on him. He closed his eyes and traced down where Angel was. No one else was in the room with her so he made a portal and hopped in it. He had to make up for his mistake and apologize to her.
Angel's room, before the event in Marco's room took place...
Angel opened her eyes slowly to see a blinding light above her. She shielded her eyes and sat up slowly. Her stomach started to ache as she did so she layed back down and looked around her room. She knew that She was in a hospital room. But she also noticed that it was more decked out than usual. She inferred that she must be in an emergency room. That would explain why her stomach was aching and why there was a bandage wrapped around it. She tried to sit up again but felt a hand push her back down. She saw a doctor with his clipboard.
"Ok Ms. Angel, can you please tell me what caused this injury?" the doctor asked. Angel was going to tell him but thought that he would call her crazy. So she gave him a more reasonable answer.
"I don't know." she answered while shrugging. She sweated while smiling, the doctor eyeing her suspiciously. She swore that she heard something about 'memory lost'. She sighed as he bought the bait.
"Alright well I'll check on you in about an hour, so you get some rest ok?" the doctor told her. She nodded and he walked out of the room. She sighed and layed back. This made her grimace as her wound ached again. However, as soon as she closed her eyes, she felt a dark presence about to arrive. So she hid under her sheets and created a white dagger. She heard the door open but in a way that no one should know it was opening. So she waited until the presence pulled the covers back and...
Marco...
Marco stumbled backwards and hit his head on the wall. His vision was blurring for a second before it cleared up. But once it did, he didn't like what he saw. Angel jumped on him and tried to stab his throat.
"Marco! I should've known. You came back just to finish me off didn't you!? Well I'm not gonna let that happen. I'm gonna finish this once and for all!" she whispered/yelled.
"What!? Finish you? That's not it Angel, I came to say sorry!" Marco told her.
"Say sorry!? I don't believe you! If you came to say sorry then why do I smell chloroform!?" Angel asked. Marco had enough and flipped her on her back. She dropped the dagger and her arms fell to her side. She felt something pressed to her face and she tried not to breathe it in. That is until she smelled something sweet instead. She opened her eyes and saw flowers in her face. She looked up and Marco had his eyes covered by his hair.
"I wanted to say sorry for getting you hurt. If I wasn't so weak, we wouldn't have had to fight. And we didn't fight, you wouldn't have gotten hurt. I feel so bad about it, I had to show how sorry I am. So here you go." Marco clentched his fist as he gave Angel the flowers. However, what he heard out of her was a fusion between a sniffle and...laughter?
"Y-you I-I-idiot!" she cried out as she hugged him. He was surprised at this but smiled as he hugged her back and squeezed. Then he heard something he never thought he would hear from Angel.
A moan. From hugging her back. Where her wings would sprout from. You got the idea.
Marco and Angel's eyes opened wide as he stopped squeezing her. He kept his arms in place as he parted from her. They stared at each other before Marco squeezed again and made her moan. She blushed wildly as she was about to yell. He covered her mouth before she yelled. However, they heard footsteps come closer and closer. So Marco picked Angel up and put her in bed. He melted into the shadow of the wall as the nurse came in. The nurse had Angel do a checkup and exited in a couple of minutes. When she left Marco reappeared but couldn't make eye contact with Angel as one of the thing the nurse had Angel do was lift her shirt to check her pulse and well, you can imagine how embarssing it was for Angel and Marco.
"Soooo uh, well...ihopeyoufeelbetterbye!" Marco hurriedly said as he created a portal.
"Wait Marco!" She called out. He froze and turned around. She beckoned him closer and hugged him again. "Thank you for the flowers." she whispered, making him shudder a little. He hugged her back.
"It was nothing Angel. Get better soon ok? We're gonna miss you at school." he told her. She nodded at him and smiled, causing him to smile back before jumping into the portal. But when he left, Angel let out a sigh. She covered her hands with her face and sighed again.
"Why him? Why did it have to be him?" Angel asked as she closed her eyes and went to sleep.
At the Diaz Residence...
Marco softly landed on his bed not to wake up Star. He put his head in a portal to Star's room and saw that she and PH were cuddled up and asleep. He smiled and pulled his head back out. He layed in bed, thinking about what happened recently and slept on it. But he wasn't just going to sleep, he was going to train. He would train for as long as he needed to so he could protect the people he cares about. And he didn't care what it cost him.
Three weeks later...
Angel's recovery had taken a while but eventually she was released from the hospital. She was greeted at school by dozens of students happy for her to be back. She felt flattered by all of this, because she didn't know anyone else except Marco, Star, and Jenna. She chuckled as she figured Star set this up for her.
"Thank you! Thank you all!" Angel thanked as she bowed. The crowd eventually died down so she could get through to her friends. They were at the same spot (except Jenna).
"Angel!" Star cried out as she ran up to Angel and hugged her tightly. A little too tightly.
"Yeesh Star, do you wanna send her back to the hospital?" Marco jokingly asked. Star let go of Angel and bounced with happiness.
"Heh, good to see you Star. And you too Marco and...PH was it?" Angel asked. PH waved at her and nodded. "Nice to meet you." Angel sat down in a chair next to Marco, surprising both him and Star. Star, for some reason got very upset but she didn't show it. The only person who noticed was PH and was chuckling to herself.
"!" Marco was suddenly shaking. He looked around in panic as if something bad was about to happen. "Guys, does anyone else besides me feel that?" Marco asked while shaking. Everyone nodded thier heads no. "I-I'll be back, stay here." he told them as he ran out of the cafeteria.
Outside...
He looked all around the school to find the source of this dark feeling. He was about to give up and go back. That is, until he slipped on something. He fell on his behind and groaned.
"What did I slip on?" Marco asked as he stood up. He looked down to find the source of him slipping and when he did, he wish he didn't. It was a beanie, a green beanie with a tint of red on it. He picked it up and held it in his shaking hands. As he investigated more, he found a faint but visible blood trail. He reluctantly followed the blood trail and traced it to the gym. What he saw in there made him relived and scared.
"Jenna!" Marco cried out but got no response. She was tied to a chair. Marco rushed over to her and untied her. "Jenna, can you hear me? Jenna!" Marco cried out as he shook her. No answer. He grew more afraid by the second and decided to determine if himself. He touched her skin to check for warmth. It was there...
Only for it to turn ice cold a few moments later like Marco's blood.
A few minutes later...
School was cancelled midway through the day due to an 'accident' in the gym. Marco and his friends were sitting in his house with dread in their hearts. Today they were supposed to celebrate the recovery of Angel, only for the death of Jenna to be in thier kinda instead. No one could be believe it.
"Marco, who would do this to her? She's not exactly innocent her that doesn't mean that she deserved to...to..." Star trailed off as the tears came back. She buried her head in PH's chest and cried out.
"Yeah, who would want to hurt Jenna? Maybe it was someone who had something against her or something? Or maybe they just simply didn't like her? Or-" Angel was suggesting until Marco banged his hand on the wall.
"I know who did it." Marco said. The others looked at him and kinda stepped back in fear. He was glowing red and so were his eyes.
"You do? How? There haven't been any clues as to who did it or-"
"I didn't need clue to figure it out. I just needed to find the motive. And based on how she died, I would say my hunch is right." Marco said as he interuppted Angel.
"But what motive would this killer have?" Star asked.
"Their motive, was to target me." Marco answered, shocking everyone in there.
"Target you? But they haven't even met you before have they?" PH asked.
"No, they have. Three times actually. And Angel and Star were there to them twice." Marco said. It then clicked in Angel's mind as she gasped.
"Wait Marco, are you saying it's-!"
"Only one other person could stoop so low as to hurt my friends just so they could hurt me at the same time." Marco told them.
"Who?" everyone asked
"A person that goes by the name of Dusk."
Heh, bet you weren't expecting an update so fast right? Well surprise! As I said in the A/N I was going to focus more on this story from now on. So to those of you who enjoyed the naruto story I am sorry.
