Edit [12/30/12]: I renamed the chapter and also the chapter is in 3rd point of view because it can be and will stay like this. Any other chapter in 3rd point of view will stay as the same as well.
A young woman was sleeping peacefully in her bed. Her long blonde hair everywhere. Her chest rose and fell with each breath. But that peaceful sleep was interrupted by the door being slammed open and someone jumping on her bed.
“ALICE!!! WAKE UP!!! YOUR GOING TO BE LATE FOR SCHOOL!” A green haired girl yelled.
Alice groaned and sat up. “Mashiro, Could you be any less loud?” She got out of bed and started her morning routine. She went to the bathroom, and brushed her teeth.
“Would you mind getting my clothes?” She said while brushing her teeth, the question obviously directed towards the other girl in the room, Mashiro.
“No problem! I'm on it!” Mashiro ran out of the room to go get the blonde's uniform.
Alice thought back to what had happened the week before. She spit into the sink and gargled some mouth wash. After she was done she looked into the mirror.
She stared at her face. An emptiness shown in her clear blue eyes, she didn't even try smiling when she was alone. Shinji and everyone was so kind to let her stay with them.... How could she be depressed even now? She couldn't let them she her like this. After may years she had faked a smile perfectly, so no one would be worried about her and it worked.
Why can't she just let it go? That whole incident should be gone from her mind, but it wouldn't leave. Maybe it was the new girl, Rukia Kuchiki. The girl that looked so much like him and had his last name. Even her best friend somehow knew this girl even before she came to school. And why didn't he tell her he knew Rukia? Why didn't he tell her he was a soul reaper? Yes, she knew but Why...? Why was she left in the dark...?
“Alice! I found it!” Mashiro said from the other side of the door.
Alice shook her head and put on her fake smile.
'I need to stop thinking about this.'
“That's great!” Alice opened the door. Mashiro gave her the school's uniform and then went downstairs. Alice shut her bedroom door and finished getting ready.
A few moments later Alice ran down the stairs.
“Good morning.” Rose greeted her from the living area. Their downstairs was a training room and everything but the bedrooms and bathrooms was down there.
“Good morning!” She smiled and grabbed some toast from Kensei. “Thanks for the food!” She then ran out of the training area and upstairs.
“Was that Alice?” Shinji asked.
“Yep.”
“She's grown into a sexy ass woman!” He sighs happily before Hiyori smacks him with a shoe.
“Don't say perverted things, Baka!”
“Shinji, you say that every morning. I thought you catch on by now.” Love sighs.
She then left the building and ran half way to her school before walking the rest. Along the way she ran into trouble but we'll understand what happened later.
~ Later ~
“Whoa. Cute Parakeet, Chad.” Alice said walking over to Chad, Ichigo, Rukia, Keigo and Mizuiro.
“Alice! Where were you?” Keigo asks while trying to hug her. She moves out of the way and walks over to the bird. She sits down next to it while petting it.
“Hospital.”
“Again?” Ichigo says while Rukia looks at her thinking about what little bit her brother had said about Alice. When Alice was back in the Soul Society she never picked fights but usually just teased the other person. She was also a bit cheerful and beautiful.
“Yep.” She continued to pet the bird, stroking it softly.
“Same guys.” Chad asks.
“Nope. Different people. But it doesn't matter, I did worse to them then they did to me.”
“Who were they?” Ichigo asked pissed.
“Same Homophobic dudes. I stepped in when they were annoying a couple.” They look at her weird.
“A couple of guys.” She shakes her head. “I don't get people. So what if guys like guys or girls like girls. Love has no bounds. Plus it's not like you have a choice of who you love. You love them because you love them for who they are. It's no one else business.” Alice really disliked ignorant people.
“But some people do have choices.” Mizuiro said.
She shakes her head. “If you have a choice of who you love then your not In love with anyone. You haven't found your soul mate.” Yes, she did believe in soul mates. Maybe because of her own soul mate... She didn't know. She yawned and laid down, tuning out what they were talking about. It was something about how Chad got hurt. She cared but it wasn't all that important. She started listening to the convo when the bird talked.
“Hello! My name is Yuichi Shibata! What's your name?” Alice looked at the bird form the corner of her eye. She knew there was a human soul in the bird and she felt a tinge of sadness for the bird, but it was not pity. Keigo then started to talk to Yuichi.
“Chad. Where'd you get the bird?” Ichigo asks pointing to the bird. Alice had sat up by now, interested in Chad's answer.
Chad holds up his index finger. “Yesterday....” He takes a long pause, “A guy gave it to me.”
Keigo, of course, went into a rant about how he shouldn't be lazy and tell them the whole story. Alice liked Chad for his bluntness. There was no reason to go into the whole story if you don't need to.
Alice noticed Ichigo and Rukia talking and with her sensitive ears she picked up what they were saying.
“Don't worry,” Rukia started saying. “There is Something in that Bird, but it's harmless. Probably just a lonely soul.” Alice doubted that, it seemed so much more then just a lonely soul.
“Still, if we leave it, it'll eventually become a hollow. We should perform Konso tonight.” She finished.
“Great... Another night without sleep...” Ichigo complained.
Alice tuned out the rest and went on with her day. She was partly concerned about Ichigo. And while they were in class she would sneak a peek at him. They were suppose to be best friends But... She wasn't sure about it anymore.
When the day finally ended she walked back home by herself.
~ The next day ~
Alice was sitting in class when Ichigo busted into the room.
“You got here just in time...” Mizuiro started off but was interrupted by Ichigo yelling, “Is Chad here!? Have you seen Chad?!” Mizuiro looked confused. Alice knew where this was going. She got up, ready to run after Ichigo when he left.
“N-no... Not today...” Mizuiro says while Ichigo is holding his arm.
“I don't think he's here yet.” Keigo says. “That's weird... He's usually here ten minutes before class.. And a manly man like Chad wouldn't miss school over the sniffles...” Ichigo looked over at Chad's desk.
“What's this all about Ichigo? Want to play with his Parakeet?” Keigo says while Ichigo runs out of the class. “Hey!? Where are you going!? Wait, Ichigo! That's bell!”
“All right people! Take your seats!! Time to explore contemporary Literature!” The teacher said while walking into the classroom. Ichigo ran past her, “Ichigo!? Where do you think your going!?”
“Sorry! Gotta talk to the head!!” He said still running away.
“The head? Is there a poisonous mushroom that makes people run?”
“I dunno... But he was looking for Chad.” Keigo answers.
“Hmm.. Okay.”
“Okay!?” Keigo yells.
“He'll probably be back later. Time to take attendance!” Alice had already left without anyone noticing. She was running after Ichigo but was far enough away he wouldn't notice her.
They both ran for a bit until Rukia caught up to Ichigo. She hid her spiritual pressure and stayed a bit away, trying to hear their convo.
“Find anything? Any clues?” She asked him.
“No.. You?” He asked her.
“Nothing. No messages from the Soul Society either!” She then starts to explain how they don't have any info.
“When hollows aren't chasing after souls, They hid between the World of the Living and the Soul Society. We can't locate it until it shows up in the Real World to attack Chad. That's why we wait for orders from the Soul Society.”
“Chad's in danger. Shoot! If we wait for an attack It'll be too late! There's gotta be something...” He then realizes something. “I got it! Chad's parakeet! Can we use it to detect the presence of a hollow!?”
“What!? That's impossible!”
“C'mon!”
Ichigo stands there, concentrating.
'No way...' Alice thinks. 'He can't be...' She was proven wrong when the Reiraku- spirit ribbons- showed up. 'But there is still no way he can find the right one!' Yet again she was proven wrong.
She was about to run after them when she was stopped.
